The food was fantastic and such huge portions. Staff here is great. If I could rate this place higher than a 5 star. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a basic family diner serving delicious comfort food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Stuffed French toast

It solidly did the job. We stopped in during mother's day and was seriously worried of where we could find brunch. No issues here. It is seat yourself, so we opted to sit outside. There is corn hole and a bunch of picnic tables spread out. Brunch wise, I ordered a ham biscuit and Hubs got the corned beef hash with grits and biscuits. We shared the stuffed French toast given the favorable reviews. The food arrived and the biscuit looks so tiny that I'm glad we got the French toast, too. Despite being small, the biscuit was solid with pieces of southern country ham. The French toast include sandwich bread with strawberry cream cheese grilled in between, with strawberries and blueberries around the plate. It's an interesting take on French toast, which we approved. As for the corn beef hash, it was standard fare, nothing to rave about. The grits were a bit bland and needed more time. All in all, glad we stopped by.

Rise and shine! Time for breakfast. Actually, no need to rush because breakfast is served at all times at the Grandview restaurant. On the last day of my mountain trip, my friend and I decided the night before that we would get breakfast. Well, it snowed! We had to wait until later for it to melt some, but it was no issue since they were still serving it up there. Inside it's just your simple diner vibes, pretty large but not quite as many tables as it looks from the outside. Everyone was super friendly, and inside seemed like it was a go to spot for people. I ordered the "Grandview Morning" which included 2 eggs, hashbrowns (my favorite), and toast. Pretty standard, can't mess up. I was satisfied and ready to tackle the day and drive home.

Came again today and it was even better than last time! Try the tater cake instead of hash browns or grits. Totally leveled up my breakfast ! Service was great.

So I forgot to take a pic of my food when arriving, I did however show you as my daughter's would say a "Happy Plate". This place is very cozy. Our server Jess was amazing. Maybe cuz she's from California. This place has a very homie feeling. I would recommend this place to everyone. I know I'll be coming back.

    "Grilled cheese"
    Alex L.

Was hopeful when I read the reviews and sadly wrong. Service was so slow and I understand being short staffed but they just seemed miserable working there. The soda was flat, the food was atrocious. You can see from the photo the grilled cheese wasn't melted. It was two pieces of cold cheese between burnt bread, thick onions and tomatoes. I was hesitant to leave this type of review since we love supporting small businesses but there's no way the owners could know that this was happening. I hope they weren't there and take this in and speak to their staff and cooks. Still thinking about the taste of the unmelted cold cheese in my mouth

Close to the turn for Seven Devils of 105.

We opted for transport via uber and Lyft services. FYI it's almost impossible to confirm service in Blowing Rock. With no show transportation at 9:30 pm the staff jumped into action. Elegant inside and out, friendly service and top notch food. We sat at the bar and our bartender took care of us all evening. Had one of the best old fashioned's in the area. He knows his stuff! The food was fine dining at its best. A garlic buttered escargot with puff pastry just melts in your mouth. Lobster bisque full of flavor and full of, well, lobster, and a ton of it. I have to say, the extra touch to the tasty French onion soup was a talking point all evening...it came with dedicated scissors so you could cut the cheese. What an amazing touch. And they sure did help lol. The center cut medium rare filet mignon paired with some frites was definitely the showstopper this evening. It's a…read morebeautiful restaurant, and I had been looking forward to dining there for quite some time. From the moment we arrived, the staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive. The atmosphere, however, felt a little mixed. The restaurant seemed to have two distinct personalities. The newer side, where the bar is located, felt polished and cohesive, while the older dining room--where we were seated because it had more availability--felt like it hadn't quite received the same attention. The lighting on that side of the restaurant was particularly harsh, which made the dining room feel less intimate than it could have been. Since it's also the larger and busier dining space, I think small touches like candles on the tables or softer lighting would go a long way toward creating a warmer, more personal atmosphere. I also noticed an interesting contrast between the beautiful leather-bound menus and some of the furniture and wall décor, which felt more reminiscent of a hotel dining room than the upscale mountain restaurant the food suggested. Thankfully, the meal more than made up for those observations. I ordered the wild mushroom pasta with lobster, and it was the standout dish of the evening. The pasta was rich without feeling heavy, the mushrooms added wonderful depth, and the lobster was cooked beautifully. It's a dish I'd gladly order again. My boyfriend ordered a steak, which he thoroughly enjoyed. We also started with the escargot and the crab cakes. The escargot, while not quite on the level of some traditional French restaurants I've visited, was still very well prepared and enjoyable. The crab cakes were outstanding--full of crab, nicely seasoned, and easily one of the best appetizers of the meal. Our only complaint was that there was only one crab cake on the plate; we both found ourselves wishing there had been another. Overall, Stonewalls Restaurant delivered an excellent meal with genuinely welcoming service. While I'd love to see the older dining room updated to better match the quality of the cuisine, the food alone makes it well worth a visit if you're in Banner Elk.

The service was nice and attentive. It definitely is a smaller mom and pop type of restaurant but very fun! The TVs had good variety of Olympics and College basketball playing on them so you can catch whatever game or event you want to watch. Now on to the food! To start we got the onion rings. They were cooked very well and I liked the breading of them. I do wish they came with some house dipping sauce or maybe a spicy ranch just to dip them in. They do have ketchup to use but I just feel with onion rings you need some type of spicy ranch or aioli dip with them. Now onto the Fries! I love me some crinkle cut fries and once I saw they had them I needed to get them! They are pillowy with a slight crunch on the outside. They have salt and pepper at the tables to use I do like a bit of old bay or something of that nature on crinkle cut fries that would be my only critique. Now Burger time! I got a patty melt which had onions, cheese burger patty and I put mayo on it. I enjoyed it a lot I do wish the onions weren't red onions and that they would've been caramelized. But the burger itself was seasoned and cooked to perfection! The bread it was on as well was a good rye bread and blended well with everything. The hamburger with jalapeños was good as-well the only critique on that would be the bun. If it had a different bun it would take it to the next level I think. For playing Pool they charge by the hour I believe and the prices were very good! Overall a great little spot to go chill and eat while watching or playing pool and not having to burn a hole in your wallet! I would definitely recommend!
