Lovely restaurant spot inside of Grange Hall. I have stopped here several times for lunch while visiting from out of town. Ambiance gives heavy ladies who lunch vibes and the menu has a nice selection of healthy to healthy-ish options. We started with the crudités platter and pimiento cheese both of which were great. For my main I ordered the go to chopped salad with chicken. It was pretty good and I like the dish in theory but it was incredibly salty and I ended up having to pick around for the chicken and egg because the salad itself was just much too salty. Two of my friends ordered it as well and had a similar opinion. My friends who ordered the turkey kefte salad and the Parmesan soup said that they loved their dishes. Overall I still really love this lunch spot but would probably order dressing on the side in the future. read more

If you are looking for a special dining experience, this is your place. It is such a unique space, in that half of the building is an upscale shopping store, and the other half of the building is an opulent dining room. Everything here is exquisite, from the items in the store, to the items on the menu in the restaurant. It is quite a treat to visit Grange Hall. You can start off your time here by perusing the retail area of the building. Look through silverware, place settings, vases, purses and fine jewelry. All items are so unique and beautiful. You could definitely spend some time shopping before or after your meal. Once you are in the dining area, you are greeted with a beautiful scene of fresh flowers and decorations. It is quiet and intimate in the dining room. The service is excellent, from being greeted at the host stand, to being served at your table. It is just what you would expect from a lovely restaurant such as this. Service is professional and knowledgable. There is an extensive hot tea list. So, if you just want to have high tea and small bites, this is available. We ordered hot tea and a bottle of champagne, which went so well with the golden egg of caviar we ordered. We went on to indulge in the Cheese and Fruit Plate, Turkey Burger and Lobster BLT. We also tried the signature Snob Sandwich. It was so delicious. The Snob Sandwich consists of toasted brioche, deviled egg spread, crab meat, smoked salmon and caviar. If you would like extra caviar, you can order the sandwich "Extra Snobby." This place is a GEM. It is light, airy and simply gorgeous. I just feel happy when you walk in. It is the height of luxury. Next time you are celebrating a girlfriends birthday, this is the place. I have been several times and everything is delicious. We had a fresh pea soup last spring -- so airy and flavorful. The salads are always presented so beautifully. The menu is kind of limited, at least for lunch. There were two of us and we always try to split up the menu, but both wanted the signature sandwich. But I'm getting ahead of myself! We had reservations for 1 on a Saturday, but we were running late. Called and got there at 1:30. We were so glad we did, because there was a party going on, birthday, bridal, not sure. They were on their way out. But with such a small place it would not have been the fun little birthday lunch we were looking for. Not taking anything away from the party. Hope they had a great time. The restaurant is so small that there really wasn't anywhere to sit except at the front door across from the big party milling about. There's one table back by the bar and it was taken. The atmosphere is chic and trendy, and so is the service. We ordered mushrooms to start and they were very good. I can't remember the name and they aren't on the menu now. We ordered specialty drinks and I guess this is where I take the stars away. They were both very expensive, $19 or $20 each. We knew what we were ordering, so the cost wasn't the issue. My daughter couldn't drink hers and set it aside, they should have asked if it was alright. And they didn't. So I think they try to be a little too trendy without being classy. read more

While the Grange Hall is mostly known for their eclectic collection of rare and exotic gifts for those who can afford them, they also have a restaurant tucked in there as well. As you would correctly assume if you've visited the gift shop, the restaurant is also beautiful and ... special. I was a bit nervous to dine here with my family, including my youngest son (age six) after browsing the exclusive offerings for sale. I had found a nice wine glass offered for sale, the price, $1,599.99 (sixteen hundred dollars). SO, imagine my anxiety and blood pressure as I observe my son assemble his flatware into a new shapes, This flatware was gold and wood and... quite beautiful. My brother also accompanied us, he's real good at using his iphone at the table. He quickly examined the maker's mark on the back to comfort me with the knowledge that a serving set was about $60 on the interweb. OK, I let him continue to make pyramids with the forks and knives while I ordered a nice Gruner Veltliner from the wine list ($11). Ok, so the room is beautiful. Service was competent, could be improved with an introduction. Our waiter literally approached the table with "are you ready to order?". Ok, I get it, we don't really NEED to know his name, but it's become an expectation to provide a bit of amiability along with the cloth napkins. The service was good, just the delivery could be warmed up a bit. All the other staff was friendly and approachable. We came for lunch, and the food was good. I'll jump out and say it was REALLY GOOD. Everything was plated in an artistic and delicate manner that brought a smile as soon as it was laid on the table. Each item exceeded expectations introduced by the menu descriptions. The portion of fish, was HUGE and perfectly prepared. My kids enjoyed the soup and salad. The caviar on my brother's Snob Sandwich... that was NOT the cheap caviar. This was the real deal. This is the perfect place for a somewhat secret and special dining experience. We all left happy and fulfilled. Came on a slow Thursday evening. We ordered the lobster and lamb dishes. The place has a really cool trendy ambiance with trees inside. The staff was plentiful. The lobster was $42 and lamb was $38. We also got the chicken liver pate. The lobster was a small portion which I guess was ok but it came with a sweet yellow sauce I wasn't a fan of. This place is a gem in Dallas. The store and restaurant are so beautiful and the service is stellar. You can tell that everyone in the restaurant and store really take pride in what they do and where they work. We had a girls lunch with their fresh hummus (the freshest veggies ever!). We both that the fish, which was tasty. The quality of their ingredients really stands out in their dishes. We shared a huge pot of tea to finish the meal. They let us chat longer than their normal closing time which was really considerate of them. Our server was so nice as well. The unbelievable rudeness of the man (I think he is one of the owners) that stands around in the retail space is creepy, no let me correct that, he's creepy. He's off putting and ungrateful. Wonderful and stunning restaurant with excellent and creative options, however--I am only giving three stars due to the sneaky way the waiter got us to fork out $20 for water. Once we were seated, the waiter began by asking which water we preferred (still or sparkling), not would we like regular or bottled-- and we chose each, thinking it was complimentary as it is at places such as Parigi on Oak Lawn. Low and behold, the bill came with a charge of $10 each for the water. (I let the lipstick stained glass slide, but this, no). Just don't think this is a good business practice, but I suppose it's the restaurant's way of making sure they profit from beverage sales. read more

Pros: The waiter was excellent--knowledgeable about the various flavors, ingredients, and general philosophy behind the menu. The atmosphere also struck a good balance between trendy and warm. Cons: I ordered the cheese plate and their signature snob salad. Each dish sacrificed flavor for being trendy. Their snob salad sounded delicious with caviar, and salmon. But these two items did not pair well with the other ingredients in the salad nor did the caviar carry the expected and much needed punch. The cheese plate was along the same lines. Beautiful presentation with a diverse arrangement of fruits, nuts, and cheeses. However, nothing paired together well enough to be memorable. My selections in general seemed like an assortment of eye catching ingredients that in the end did not blend well together. Normally I would not be so harsh on a first visit but my mother's salad suffered a similar fate. And my salad was one of the top selections. read more

The Grange Hall restaurant has some of the finest and most delicious food in Dallas. It actually reminds me of eating lunch at Michelin starred restaurants in Paris. Everything is inventive but also tastes amazing. Something as simple as a crudités plate has been elevated and is such a treat! The salads, sandwiches and soups were all fantastic as well. Great atmosphere for lunch. I would give it a five star for atmosphere, but being around super wealthy people made me a bit uncomfortable. Excellent presentation on the food, but taste is mediocre for a restaurant of that class. We ordered their special apple juice (tasted just like what I make at home), a cheese plate, barley mushroom soup and the turkey kefteh sandwich. Soup was good. Sandwich and cheese were ok. Their ice tea is very good, however. I got the jasmine green tea and it was just so fragrant. The food here is extremely overpriced for the quality. I just want to try the place out. Apart from their awesome store, I was a very curious to try this place. From the beginning the staff welcomed us with a smile and let us know that they were closing soon (we arrived 10 minutes before closing time). We thought about leaving because we didn't want to feel rushed. But we were quite surprised by the waiter who told us not to worry and let us take our time to order. We had a great experience! The setting is wonderful, the tables are well set, the silverware was beautiful. I ordered the smoked salmon sandwich (can't remember the name displayed on menu) ... It was amazing! One of my absolute favorite (and somewhat hidden) spots to dine/meet girlfriends/take clients/or sip high-tea. Only catch with grange is that you have to be within the 11:30-2:30pm time frame otherwise you've missed their dining window! Very chic and beautifully decorated- floral department located on the grounds, as well as, their upscale boutique- full of luxury and eclectic goods that one probably doesn't need lol! I am from CA and happened to know one of the owners of Grange is too, so we bonded the first time I strolled in there, and I've been a returning customer+restaurant guest ever since. Almost impossible to find chic, tasty, and beautiful spots as intimate as Grange Hall- here in Dallas. Definitely recommend visiting and dining with them at least once! read more

The place is beautifully decorated and the flower arrangements are gorgeous. They also have a store that has very unique and creative gifts for you to buy. I would give this place zero stars if I could. I went here today (for the first time) to exchange perfume that my sweet husband gave to me for Mother's Day. I needed to buy some gifts for other people so planned to do some additional shopping, too. After disappearing into the back to "talk to the manager," the snotty shop girl at the counter told me that because the clear plastic wrap had been removed from the perfume, I could not return it. I hadn't even sprayed the perfume - just smelled the bottle to see if I liked it. So, their policy with fragrance is that if you smell it, you must keep it. Absurd! I've never encountered such a ridiculous policy and such snooty staff. I will never set foot in this place again. read more
