Completely incompetent. Apparently their automated bill pay had a glitch and it was undercharging me for months. I didn't think I had to hold their hand like a child to make sure they could do their job. Because Grange erroneously reported cancellation of our homeowners insurance to our previous lender, for which lender demanded proof we had insurance and no lapses - even after we provided it - lender continued to demand proof there were no lapses because otherwise THEY could be liable. I reported Grange to the Department of Insurance in Ohio with two complaints and proof-documentation in the form of a letter from our previous lender in which Grange CLEARLY told them "cancellation for nonpayment" 3 weeks before it was even due! Grange now is gouging us with a much higher rate after two very minor claims and we cannot get away from them because other companies are not interested in insuring Grange violated us and made our lives very difficult for many months last year as we had to rectify this. Do not trust Grange! They never took responsibility for their huge mistake that caused us extreme hardship even after Ohio Dept. of Insurance confronted them. We should be reimbursed for one full year of homeowners insurance, plus an apology. read more

My daughter was involved in a hit and run on December 23rd. Grange took over the claim. As of January 22nd the only thing they have accomplished is towing the car to the wrong body shop. When i call or email Jessyka the adjuster i get the run around or no response at all. I have called her supervisor Brian misson 3 times, emailed once and never got a response. They have not supplied a rental car even though I've asked numerous times. The last response i got from Jessyka Frazier makes me think they don't even know where the car is anymore. read more

Very high rates, and the roadside assistance is horrible. I've had to use it a couple of times. The most recent time, I had a vehicle towed. Before they would contact the wrecker service to dispatch it, I had to pay $170 out of pocket that they will eventually reimburse. They said it will probably take a month for that. I waited 3 hours for the tow truck, because the first one they got me canceled. I just switched to State Farm, am getting a way better rate, with better coverage. State Farm's roadside, if you need towing, you call the road side assistance, and the tow bill is sent directly to them, no out of pocket. Will not miss grange in the slightest, and do not recommend them at all. read more

I can't even start the car bcs the battery is dead while the tailgate hook is broke. they sent me an estimate for only the bumper. On May 22 a commerical truck hauling a trailer with rusted colored dirt covered rocks or cement hit a pothole causeing the trailer to jump. When the trailer jumped it launched debris from the trailer that stuck my windshield. It hit with such force that it almost came thru my windshield, but it dis break the internal layer of glass cause glass fragments to land on my dashboard, floor and passenger seat. SLS and their insurance company Grange isnt taking responsibility for the damage to my windshield. So now im stuck with the financial burden of this damaged caused by SLS. read more

WORST COMPANY WITH RUDE AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AGENTS THEY'RE THEIVES and absolutely don't care about thrift customers or how their treated .e had both auto and home insurance through them auto for like 10 years. I switched Auto but then got homeowners. So I changed my bank and set up auto withdraw the next month the auto pay didn't go through. I didn't get any notification just a receipt saying thank you for payment. Then a letter comes saying my policy will be canceled.I called. Made a1 time payment and they said I don't know what's wrong with our computer or why it didn't auto pay but it's correct and won't happen again. Next month no auto pay again but again had email saying thank you for payment. Went through the 1 time payment again. This month same thing except the girl said my bank was disputing the charges. The money was there and bank never notified me of this.. neither did grainge so as far as i can see from my email is i have a receipt saying thank you for payment.. why would i think any different.? THEY CANCELED MY INSURANCE NEVER MISSED A PAYMENT. THEY WOULD NOT EVEN LET ME TALK TO A SUPERVISOR AND HAD ME IN THE PHONE OVER A9 HOUR PERIOD THAT DAY BLAMING THE OTHER BETWEEN ZEBRA AND GRAINGE Though I've paid for 10 years every month and never missed a PAYMENT. So this is such BS and the last girl was so condescending, , rude and very unprofessional and a few other things I'm not gonna say. So because of something that absolutely was not my fault they canceled my insurance I'm not working now and can't afford another down payment for the homeowner's insurance it's I just paid it agand then they're canceling it 2 weeks early so I have I would have to come app with this money in a week and a 1/2 after just paying the payment. Since my accident with one of their insureds that they referenced several times by nickname the entire claims team have neglected to respond to me. I called and left several messages for my claims rep Jessica Frazier with no response until I threatened to call corporate. Her supervisor won't even call me back. I've asked several times for them to just switch my claims adjuster and everyone is telling me either Jessica or her supervisor have to switch. When she finally gave me a call their was no apology or an explanation as to why she has been avoiding me. I've requested a corporate phone number or a grievance team to file a formal complaint but they are refusing to help me. I'm without a car and on the verge of losing my apartment. This absolutely ridiculous. I have never experienced such a nightmare. read more

The Grange Insurance at Washington Crossing. Friendly people, really courteous...but I swear they are harder to find than Waldo's underwear. Good luck trying to find anyone to speak to you and answer your questions. My agent, Michael Neumann, was gone for a full 7 days without someone else assigned to handle my claim. I had to personally call them to set up a rental car and even then, they did not set anything up after I hung up. I had to call again to remind them that they forgot to set me up to finally get into a vehicle. Today, my agent is gone again (great). When I tried to reach the receptionist to answer some general questions, it would only go to her voicemail. Waste of time and frustrating when I am trying to get the insurance process done as fast as possible. They are harder to get a hold of than a slippery bar of soap. read more

I've encountered 2 claims this year, unfortunately, and the process from filing a claim, to body shop of choice, to car rental, to the claims representative, to follow up and beyond is completely on point. That's the level of Customer Service one deserves, desires and needs when the situation at hand tends to be out of the usual and stressful enough. We are about to drop Grange after having used them insure our house nearly 15 years. After recent flooding, their agent stalled shamelessly more than 2 months and then, finally, gave a low-ball estimate without ever even visiting to look at our basement. The remodelers who did identical work in 2014 had submitted an identical estimate, in effect giving us a break by not adjusting for inflation. It's a $10,000 policy benefit, of which $2,6000 went to remediate (tear out carpet/flooring/drywall). The agent is claiming we can rehab an entire basement for less than $7,000, which is absurd. Over $900, they're going to lose a customer, but I'm sure her bosses will think she did a great job. read more

I was in an accident on August 6. The Grange client ran a red light. Grange contacted me on August 8. Told me to get a rental car. They told me that my car would probably be totaled. They said that I would be able to keep the rental for 3 days after they totaled the car. They then called and said they were going to fix the car. We disagreed on after market parts to be used. The car is a 2020 Honda Ridgeline with very low miles. We agreed to after market parts with an understanding that there would be compensation for diminished value. About a week later they called and said that they decided to total the car. The person I had been working with apologized for the situation and that I would be hearing from someone with an offer. I received an offer via email. The email stated that the rental car needed returned by Tuesday (this was a holiday weekend). I emailed and called the individual. After A couple of days with no reply I called again. Still no reply. I returned the car on Tuesday. The offer they made was not fair. As soon as the accident happened I began researching the price of a similar vehicle. There are not many 2020 Honda Ridgelines to compare. I found a couple but Grange kept rejecting them. Their attitude was take it or leave it. my contact was not only unresponsive but very rude. I reminded her that this accident was not my fault. She did not care. I cannot replace my vehicle for what they offered. I ask her to show me a comparable vehicle for that price and she said that was not her job. It is now September 14th I still do not have money from Grange and have been without a car for 9 days.. It has been a terrible experience. read more

I've had lots of insurance company's over the years they all have their good and bad points but unlike the biggies Progressive geiko etc that constantly treat you as the enemy Grange is responsive and Fair priced. I have lots of cars as well as toys and after never ending increases I looked at grange through my bank Huntington. They shaved a lot of money off my previous carrier that did it's best to constantly gouge me or would worm it's way out of a claim. My vehicle was parked and sideswiped by a delivery truck. The guy left a note and thus Grange insurance, Alex was assigned to take care of me. Due to previous experience with drivers I filed a police report. Alex made sure I was taken care of with having someone come out and take pictures, measurements, car rental for an extended day beyond the regular rental period and he kept in constant contact with me to see if I needed anything. He kept in contact with the body shop doing the repairs as well. Thank you for making my last few days as less stressful as could be expected. Great job Alex. read more

On 7-17-13, my car was backed in to by an insured's 02 Chevy TrailBlazer while I was at work. The insured, a middle-aged female, was kind enough to leave a note with her number before driving off instead of coming inside the building and having me called. I did call her back after the accident was brought to my attention an hour later and she returned with her husband to give me a copy of her insurance card. After she left, I filed my claim at 5:35 PM. On 7-18-13, the claims rep called me stating she was unable to locate their insured. This went on until 7-22-13. During the course of all this, I asked what would happen if they could not attempt to locate their insured to which they responded that they would send out a contact letter. If their insured still ignored the claims rep, I was told my claim would be dismissed! What?!?. I even took it upon myself to stop by the local Ford body shop for a quote on this repair, should I had needed an attorney to pursue this. I was quoted $1695.26 based on the visible damage. On 7-22-13, I went to work early to look for their insured myself. Lo and behold, there she was around the block in the VERY vehicle that hit mine. I pulled up behind her TrailBlazer, walked up and knocked on the window. I politely told her that the claims rep, including me, have left her voicemails to get in touch with the claims rep since the 17th. She explained she was sick. I empathized with her but I also explained that my safety driving this car and my livelihood depend on my car so she needs to call them immediately. We parted ways and 10 minutes later, the claims rep called and stated their insured had been in touch with them and they will accept liability. I made arrangements for an adjuster to come out before 1pm on 7-26-13 and I would receive a phone call prior to the adjusters arrival and with an ETA. On 7-26-13, after a couple of phone calls, I finally got ahold of someone who paged the claims rep, which forced her to speak with me. She texted the adjuster as I was on the phone to get an ETA. They said he should be at my house by 1 PM, which works because I have to work at 3 PM today then go out of town for training for the weekend immediately afterwards. At 10:39 AM, I got a call from the adjuster. He said he had a cancellation and would be at my place in about a 1/2 hour. He arrived at 11:11 AM to add up my damages. He gave me a check for $1300.00 for my damages, using aftermarket parts (I hate aftermarket parts). Thats a $395.26 difference from the Ford quote. I think I may just hang on to the check and use it towards a down payment on a new car. read more

I was hit by a drive carrying Grange Insurance and it was the worst experience in my 45+ years of driving. They would only pay at the rate their adjuster determined even after I took the time to get 3 additional estimates. They forced me to take aftermarket parts or pay the difference out of my pocket. They told me I would have to arrange for a rental car, pay for it out of my pocket and get reimbursed at their rate. They wouldn't return my calls for a couple of days to tell me what their daily rate was. When they did return my calls, their daily rate wouldn't even cover the daily costs of a subcompact car, more money out of my pocket. I am 20 years old and mid December i paid for my very first car, a 2010 convertible Mustang. After having it for barely a month I got rear ended at no fault of my own. The only damage was a little dent on the metal above my bumper and the whole black plastic bumper piece underneath the dent needed replaced. After taking forever to get back to me I finally heard from them and they told me to take my car to get an estimate. I got an estimate of $741. I then had the estimate faxed to them and after about a week of us calling them and the man who gave me my estimate calling them they finally returned my calls and told me they would send their own person to get and estimate to my work. They showed up on January 31 and gave me an estimate of $631.32 which is more then $100 less than what my estimate was. When i asked them why it was such a big difference they told me they were getting me an after market bumper. Which made me furious considering i have had the car for a little over a month at this point, it was the first car i've ever bought, and its a Ford Mustang. Reguardless of it being a nice car they would not even talk about getting a Ford bumper so now i am paying the rest out of pocket so i can get the Ford bumper. I explained to Chad who was the man i was dealing with through this whole process that I am a 20 year old girl who works at A diner that just bought her first car and had nothing to do with the accident. I was so upset with him on the phone that I was in tears and the whole time we were on the phone he sounded like a trained robot and like he was reading exactly what to say out of a text book rather than talking to me like I am a person. I asked him if he could take a second and understand where I am coming from and he said "i can understand your frustration' . Then I asked him if I was the only person who ever had this problem and his response was "no". My dad asked to talk to the supervisor Tonya Crowe who also gave him the runaround and would do nothing about it. They also agreed to give me a rental car for the days I would be without mine while it was getting fixed and the man who is fixing my car said it would be 2 and a half days. They then told me it would only take 2 and that's what they would give me a rental car for. Summing it up, I am a 20 year old female with a minimum wage job that just bought her first car and got completely screwed by Grange Insurance when the accident was someone else's fault. I have been with Grange for 10 years. Just recieved a letter stating in February they are dropping me because condition of roof. In the last few years l have requested for an adjuster to come and look at the roof. Each time an adjuster came out and looked their response would be it is only shingles your deductible is 500 dollars. For a company to drop an individual who has never filed a claim is unacceptable. I have talked with my agent to find me another company for both home and auto you have lost a loyal customer and l will not reccomend anyone to use you. read more

They had ten days to go to where my wrecked car was towed so they could look at it. Every day was a different excuse why they wouldn't look and evaluate the damage. Horrible experience getting them to cover a claim one of their insured drivers hit me and getting my car repaired was an incredible hassle and they fought me every step of the way. Considering the age and excellent condition of the car finding comparable parts were not readily available at salvage prices, THEY ACTUALLY WANTED ME TO USE NON MATCHING FABRIC FOR MY DOOR PANEL, AND SAID IT WOULD NOT HURT THE VALUE DUE TO MY LOW MILEAGE!!!! not exaggerating, they actually told me that, I had to fight all the way to get even a pittance of a payment for the loss of value in the car since new door panels could no longer be bought a used door panel had to be used which looks horrible compared to the rest of the car, they dragged their feet approving everything and were partly responsible for the repairs taking FOREVER but they refused to pay for any loss of the use of the car while it was being repaired the employees were INCREDIBLY RUDE, they really treated me like crap because I wouldn't settle for having mechanical parts from a vehicle with 240,000 (carfax checked as part had a vin number) miles on my car with 40,000 miles and act like that was of equivalent condition read more
