Went for the lunch special which is two slices one topping for $6 and a drink I had the special which was one size plus a small salad with a drink (10$). The pizza crust is actually pretty good, it's thin crunchy and the toppings are generous but definitely could use a little bit more sauce and cheese. So be sure to ask for extra cheese if that's how you like your pizza. I had an amazing experience here today, we were the first customers to arrive. The staff was friendly and personable. I ordered a slice of pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms, feta cheese and spinach. The pizza was delicious and the toppings were very fresh. I also had a small slice of lasagna which was delicious as well. The menus were pretty and easy to read. I love the fact that they offer slices of pizza and not just a whole pie, the same for the lasagna too, you have a choice of small portion or large portions. I also love the decor spacious seating. I have been to this place a million times. Today's service & food did not fall short of excellent. Me & my son ordered as if our whole family was earing but it was just us. Blackened chiuicken salad was just as good today as it was 10-years ago. Calzone is HUGE & enough for at least 2 meals! The blackened chicken Alfredo was superb & the 1/2 cheese, 1/2 pepperoni pizza was cooked 2 perfection & reheated just fine once we got home. Don't know if it's a one off or all the time since I don't go here often but we ordered a small pizza, calzone, and a salad. The pizza and calzone both had a weird burned/chemical taste to the bread. All the toppings fell off the pizza when trying to eat it since the cheese was on top so there was nothing to bind the ingredients to the dough. It all just slid right off. Really frustrating to try to eat. Also only 2 other patrons were there but still had to wait over 30 min. Probably won't be coming back- food just wasn't great. Grant Central Pizza is one of the spots I visit frequently in Atlanta. I come here when I want pizza, but not a whole pie. They sell pizza by slice and one or two slices will fill you up! I love the pizza, eggplant Parmesan, veggie lasagna, and Caesar salad. My go-to is a slice of pizza (usually topped with pepperoni, Italian sausage and bell pepper) and a side Caesar salad. I'm not a fan of the white sauce pastas here. They look great, but lack in flavor. There are lots of toppings to choose from at GCP, and they have a few interesting specialty pizzas on the menu. They also sell beer and wine to-go. Service is great. Atmosphere is a bit dull. It feels like you stopped back in time, but hey.... The food is great and the prices are reasonable. I was in the company of a child today, and she decided she wanted spaghetti for lunch, so a quick Yelp search brought us here. The spot is located on a corner in Grant Park. The doors are solid, green wood with no glass or anything, so walking up, it's not exactly clear that it's a restaurant. We entered, and were not greeted. We'd never been here before and werent sure whether we should seat ourselves or what. A waitress was tending to the table closest to the entry door, but instead of speaking, she looked at us, turned her head and continued with her table...No "hi", no smile, nothing. We stood there for about another minute without being spoken to, so I just said fuck it and picked a booth. After we were seated another couple came in and was immediately greeted (from across the room!) by the same waitress who'd blatantly ignored us. Usually, I'd leave a place for something like this, but with a little person in tow, I honestly did not feel like going through the hassle of finding a new restaurant. Eventually, (and I say that because it was a hot minute) the same waitress came to our table. She did not introduce herself, talk about specials, etc. Just asked for drink requests and our orders. My friend got build your own pasta with creamy marinara, sausage and spinach. I got the BYO as well, with linguine, creamy pesto, roasted garlic, and broccoli. Our little person ordered the marinara with meatballs. (I'm not sure if they have a kids menu bc I didn't ask, nor did the waitress offer.) We ended up having 3 different people tend to us, I guess because of shift changes? The wait time for our food wasn't bad, maybe about 15 minutes. The portion sizes were really nice for the price and the food looked good. Each pasta also came with a chunk of garlic bread, which was decent. Unfortunately, the tastes did not match the looks. My creamy pesto was extremely bland and watered down. I know it was "creamy" and not traditional pesto, but I was still expecting a bit more flavor. Our 5 year old only picked over her meatballs and marina. My friend said her sausage/spinach build your own was also really bland. I salt/peppered/and Parmesan'd my dish until it was edible. Both of my guests opted to just take their dishes home and "fix" them up later. As for the actual restaurant, it's a bit of an eyesore. It has a very 90's movie "neighborhood pizza parlor" feel. The booth that we sat at had seats that had big holes that had been taped together but were still falling apart and exposing fluff. It was also pretty dark inside, but that may have been because it was due to rain that afternoon. All the tables also had kids so there was a lot of chatter and noise. (Fun fact: they have a little piece on the menu that asks you to take your crying kids outside!) This has gotten longer than I intended, but in summary, there was nothing remarkable about this place. The food is always very tasty I've ordered from here for years and have never been disappointed. The calzones are hefty and have been a staple in my life for a long time. That being said this location charges $1.75 per topping on online orders(Uber Eats) where as the other Grant Central Pizza location in EAV charges only $0.75. I came in for a quick bite to eat and to see if they have any gluten-free options for pizza and sadly, they do not. :( However, they are willing to make any of the pasta plates gluten-free by switching out the pasta base for a cooked veggie base. I got an Arugula Salad that was very inexpensive ($5 before tax) and it was very flavorful but not as filling. It did look pretty on the plate! The serious was lovely. They were quick and efficient in getting my order in and delivered to my table.They came by often and checked up on me and refilled my water when needed. Came to Grant Central Pizza after a morning at the Atlanta Zoo with some friends and our kids. So for zoo day this place is very convenient and cheaper than eating at the zoo. Taste wise it's not the best pizza in Atlanta there are at least 10 different pizza places that are better. oh and they serve alcohol which is nice but didn't want that after sunny day at the zoo. The veggie lover was ok the olives didn't taste right like they didn't fit with the overall pizza. It was good just not great. The arugula salad was better than the house salad but both were great healthy options. The kids loved the cheese pizza, my son liked it more than the veggie lover. We were a little annoyed that they charged us 19% gratuity when we were only 4 adults (and 5 kids under 3). My friend and I usually give 20% tip but it's not like they even did that much work. Anyway just know babies count as 6 party rule for obligatory tip. Street parking is relatively easy and free The best thing about this place is the location and if your nearby you can go but if your just looking for great pizza take extra 10-15 min drive to a better pizza place. read more

Great pizza, calzones, and lasagna at a fair price point. Cheaper than most of the new restaurants around Grant Park and focusing on good family value over trendy bling. The pizza style is a traditional Italian like you get in NY/NJ/PA, medium thickness crust. I've been eating here regularly for over 10 years and it has had it's ups and downs on the service front but the food is solid. I generally just get take out to avoid any service issues. And by the way it is generally good service except that it can be slow. Just keep in mind everything is made fresh and that takes time to do well. It is not fine dining, it is a pizza place with good traditional basic Italian food that they do really well. Pros: The pizza crust really is exceptional at Grant Central. I think the "secret" is they dust the crust with cornmeal (just a little) adding delicious flavor and texture to the pizza. The calzones are fantastic and huge. They have a very friendly neighborhood atmosphere. Cons: They have occasional quality control issues with the pizza toppings not being evenly distributed or leaving a big edge on the crust without toppings. I guess it depends on who is cooking. Thursday, August 14th, Noel, Tony and I decided to go to Atlanta to visit the zoo. After walking around for 3 1/2 hr hours, we were starving!!! So, I grabbed my smartphone and searched YELP app for a nearby restaurant that served beer for Tony and had good reviews...so up pops Grant Central Pizza and Pasta..which was only up the street 1/2 mile...so hey WHY NOT??? Normally, I want to try the pizza but Tony and I opted to share a Calzone with four cheeses and marinara sauce..and we added pepperoni and meatballs.. Noel ordered Chicken Alfredo Pasta and we ordered the Garlic Toast with Mozzarella cheese...we got soda and Tony ordered a PBR in a bottle.. The interior is very nice!!! The waitress was very friendly and helpful!!! It was around 1:30 and not very crowded..you can tell this is a neighborhood eatery!!! They also have a little outside dining on the sidewalk, and plenty inside with a bar area... I loved the interior artwork, looked local!! The food arrived in about 20 minutes, all together so not bad!! There was only three pieces of garlic cheese bread with NO marinara sauce!!! Strange!! but the bread was good!! But a little pricey for the quantity and no dipping sauce! Noel's pasta looked wonderful!! But apparently the chicken was blackened or something and she said hey a strange taste..but it was good and she enjoyed it. Our calzone was large!!! But there was no sauce INSIDE...only the cheese and meat...the sauce was on the side so you had to put it on there yourself..Tony hated that!!! I just put mine on top,, but he had to pull his apart and open it up and add the sauce and there was not enough sauce..so he was unhappy... But, it tasted pretty good!!! I would order it again, but I would have to remember to ask for my sauce INSIDE.... Price, tip and taxes was $35...hummm.... A little pricy for me!! But it was good!! I am so lucky that Grant Central is my neighborhood pizza place! I've been on a pretty strict diet lately, which does not allow pizza. After an especially dull day of quarantine, my roommate and I decided we did not want to cook. It was DEF gonna be a pizza night. And when breaking your diet, it's important to make sure it's with a pizza that's worth it. We did not even think twice.... it was 100% going to be Grant Central. Their dough is hand-made, their ingredients are top-notch and their pizza is the best in Grant Park (in my humble opinion). The only downside for my impatient mind, is that it usually takes a really long time, but just embrace it... magic is happening. Soooo we order pizza via phone... Get here Jessie the lady that took our money was RUDE RUDE RUDE. Now I don't want to say that when she saw us and realized we were African American women that she changed because she was nice on the phone. BUT when we walked in her demeanor totally changed! Now my call in was at 8:03 it's now 8:50 and our order is still not ready. So Jesse says they are only accepting cards. TODAY IS MOTHER'S Day, my friend attempted to pay with a Visa gift card that her daughter just gave her as a gift and somehow Grant Central doesn't accept gift cards... "really"? After 5 hours of adventure at Zoo Atlanta our appetites were roaring, so out comes YELP to the rescue! A quick search of the area for a family friendly place and Grant Central pops up. A local flavor place not far with a funky menu and brew. Sounds perfect, and well, it was! This is nestled in an older but hip little section of ATL across the street from Loose Nuts bike shop.Oh and this place isn't far from Turner Field so if your down for a game come early and eat here first. Also I can see why others said parking could be a pain especially at peak hours since this is mainly in a residential neighborhood. But there is a small parking lot available if you get there early enough. Anyway the employees were friendly and helpful, the paintings on the wall were funky & fun, and the A/C was working good so it felt great in there. I ordered a Watermelon salad which was refreshing and very tasty. We also got a small Veggie pizza, which actually was big enough for me and my wife to enjoy and have a leftover piece. Its actually about the size of a medium at most chains pizza joints. The veggie pizza was actually really good and seasoned just right. We are usually meat eaters and I really didn't miss it on this one. We got a piece of their crunchy chocolate cake and it came out in a huge slab that the whole group devoured. Overall this place rocks, cool staff, funky atmosphere, good for kids, and the food was great. Definitely coming back here next time I'm in town. read more

What I received was a house salad with ranch dressing -- ok I can live with that -- but then I open the box and see a significantly cheaper plain old pepperoni and nothing else pizza. What really brings it to 2 stars is that, when this was mentioned to the person working there, he was dismissive, made no apology, and basically said the owner isn't going to do anything about it because "people will just keep coming back". They have no website and it sounds apparent that they don't care the prices aren't listed accurately where people see them. This was the last restaurant I went to with my husband before our flight. We had some time and hadn't had any pizza or pasta while in Atlanta. We found this place and went to check it out and I'm so glad we did! First of all it's smaller but it's really cool inside. Lots of nice artwork, big tables with comfy chairs, and unique vibe overall. The servers were all very friendly. I was craving pasta and got a vegetarian lasagna and asked the server if a half order or whole order is better for one and she was honest and said she can't usually eat more than a half order. So I got that, and we got some garlic bread as an appetizer. I'm so glad she was honest! Some servers will try to get you to buy more but she was right -- I absolutely could not have finished more than a half order. And our food was delicious! We are everything, were very full, and really enjoyed ourselves there. The price was all super reasonable too. We would definitely go back. I just had the worst experience with racism at this place. After I spoke with the employee calmly she still was rude. I handed my card to her for payment and once she swiped my card she slammed it down on the counter while I was standing arms length. I told her I felt that was polite especially when I've seen her hand other non black customers their cards and recipes. She turned her back and start speaking with other customers. I asked for a refund and she ignored me. She then turned and said she can't offer me a refund because it's nothing wrong with my pizza. This is a neighbourhood joint, and it most definitely holds it's own in terms of service, artwork and food.
