    CRISPY CHICKEN PICCATA | delicious
    Crystal O.

Server: DEAN | 5 stars - DEAN was amazing! He provided wonderful and deficient service. He was polite, courteous, and made the dining experience fantastic. We aren't in the area often, if we were, we'd come back for DEAN, and obviously for the most consistent restaurant. Food: 5 stars - SEAFOOD STUFFED MUSHROOMS Yum. Wasn't too salty. - BAKED STUFF SCROD - OUR ORIGINAL STUFFING with RICE PILAF Delicious. Always have to get the RICE PILAF and they cook their seafood (and meats, well, everything) so perfectly. - CRISPY CHICKEN PICCATA First time trying a pasta dish as an adult. Chicken was as advertised, crispy and so good. The sauce and linguini perfect. I hate knowing their pasta dishes are good because I ALWAYS HAVE to eat the RICE PILAF. Ambiance: Polite and Consistent - I have to appreciate consistent quality establishments, like GRASSFIELDS, who seem like they appreciate their team who helps keeps the place running so smoothly. I've been going to this place for about 40 years and always look forward to everything about it. I love this place!

This is a very special review, being the first in my "Eat the Distance" project. Grassfields has been my Honky Tonk for a few years though this is my first visit for a proper meal. Crowded as usual with regulars and locals, this is truly a "village tier" establishment far from the beaten path of travelers and the jet-set. Though grateful for the keto options I was mystified: they bill themselves as a steak and seafood spot but menu was quite sparse on the beef options; no ribeye, "grass fed" appearing nowhere on the laminated menu. This messaging/offering dissonance and the almost unacceptably delayed service are the primary factors contributing to the 75% evaluation. Despite these oversights the tips and petit filet were tender and flavorful, and the fresh baked complimentary bread was a lovely touch superior to what one finds at many higher rated restaurants.

This is what I called old school no nonsense. Good food with good prices! They do not overcharge here, and the place is always packed because of the popularity. We were able to get seated at the bar and the service was very friendly and to the point and I certainly enjoyed my steak tips. They give a lot of food. I also enjoyed my side of rice pilaf, which is quite famous there, and the Avalanche ice cream was delicious with caramel...so good! The ambience is comfort casual but you're most likely see people in their 60s here... that's good since then know what's good and deals! By the way, they give the coolest bread which is like a giant pretzel!

A staple in Waltham. Been coming here for years and there hasn't been a meal I didn't like. Service is always fast too. I always start with either the zucchini sticks or spinach and artichoke dip for my appetizer. Plus their loaf of bread!! My go to entrees are either the chicken breast teriyaki with the rice pilaf or the teriyaki steak tips! These are their staples in my opinion. Their panko crusted chicken is also great as well as their crabmeat pie...yum. Their menu is classic and there's something everyone will love--burgers, steak, chicken, fish, salads! Topped off with a romantic ambiance that makes it a good date spot or just a night out with the family. This restaurant owns other places nearby too with similar menus. Try their other locations too -- Jimmy's in Arlington, Grassfields in Andover, Jimmy's in Saugus. Marios Italian Restaurant in Lexington is also part of this same family.

    Creamy espresso martini

1st time here and it was excellent! The teriyaki steak tips were cooked perfectly and the rice pilaf was as good as everyone says.Finished it off with a delicious creamy espresso martini for dessert.

    Burnt cheeseburger.

Didn't see the need to have 3 ladies standing in one spot at 6pm mid-week, looking bored at best. Plenty of high top seating in the lounge or on bar side for 2-4 people. Great place for a quick bite, after work meet/up (or even a romantic dinner if you reserve the high table near the fireplace). Waitress was very nice and attentive. Great cocktail & wine selection. Crab stuffed shrimp and an entree is plenty for 1 person. Rib eye was phenomenal. Sauce wasn't needed. Crab cakes were just ok. I didn't understand the chip like flakes that were added on top. Small portions, but yet filling. I couldn't finish the large tiramisu which was also very good. The added morsels gave it a nice touch. Overall, good for locals, nearby employees or shoppers.

The drinks were amazing. Whoever their bartender is, wow -- they are talented. Highlights included the dirty Grey Goose martini with bleu cheese-stuffed olives, the pomegranate martini, and the blueberry mojito. For apps we ordered a small seafood tower, the veal osso buco ravioli, and the ahi tuna. All freshly prepared and delicious, especially the ravioli and tower. For my entree I got the 8 oz filet and jumbo lobster tail, it was one of the specials. Also delicious! Our sides were all yummy too, we got garlic mashed, spinach and asparagus; and I really liked the mac & cheese. For dessert, everyone got the lava cake and enjoyed it, I took home a slice of cheesecake. I did have to ask for extra berries to go with it, there weren't a lot of them. If it's your birthday they decorate the table with a confetti sprinkle and you get a free dessert, so that made my dad's day. And it was a nice seating arrangement, we had plenty of space and didn't feel cramped at all. I liked the atmosphere as well. We'd definitely return!

This is the kind of authentic Mexican spot where you can tell everything is made fresh, in-house, and with a whole lot of TLC. Most of the staff spoke primarily Spanish, but ordering was still a breeze, and the ladies working were incredibly kind and welcoming. The space itself is tiny, just a few bar seats against the wall and a handful of small tables, so it's definitely more of a grab-and-go kind of place. The burrito was hearty and packed with fillings. Nothing flashy, just a really solid, satisfying burrito that hit the spot. But the real MVP? The cheese and jalapeño pupusa. Holy melted goodness. It was cheesy, perfectly grilled on the outside, had just the right kick from the jalapeños, and had us wondering why we didn't order five more. If loving that pupusa is wrong, I don't want to be right!! The steak quesadilla was another winner... tender steak in every bite with plenty of cheese, and the mild green salsa absolutely stole the show. One bite and I was on a one-way trip to Flavor Town. Give me that stuff by the bottle! This place proves you don't need a fancy dining room to serve incredible food. Authentic flavors, warm hospitality, and dishes made with care. 10/10! I'll absolutely be back, and next time I'm ordering extra pupusas (and maybe just them lol)!

Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. I ordered an Old-Fashioned and my companion a glass of chardonnay, both of which came promptly and were enjoyable. After some inquiries I settled on the self-advertised fall-off-the-bone baby back ribs. My companion asked about a favorite no longer on the menu, a salad with grilled chicken, and after checking with the kitchen our server was happy to report it could be ordered. My companion asked for dressing on the side and unfortunatel the salad came out dressed. Our server was happy to return it to the kitchen and it came out after not too much time had elapsed, the way she'd ordered it. I'm always skeptical that ribs will be fall-off-the-bone but these were close. Unfortunately, they seemed a little off; I still can't decide if they were on the dry side, lacking in flavor, or both. But the meat did come off the bone easily, so there was that. They came with french fries which were good, The location is handy and there is on-site parking. The atmosphere was energetic and it must be a popular after-work place because there were several large (10+) tables occupied. We were asked whether we preferred a table or a booth, which I always appreciate, and we chose the latter. My first impression was that the open dining room was very loud. The noise was amplified by a party of about 10 people to our left and the ambient bar and TV noise to our right. Our friendly waiter arrived immediately, as did water and menus. Service started off nicely and remained good throughout our lunch. I wish I could say the same for the food. I was considering the Salmon Poke Bowl, but our waiter explained that the salmon wasn't served sushi-style, so we both ordered the Tuna Poke Bowl ($23.95). The bowls arrived in about 15 minutes, with the wasabi dressing on the side as requested, although technically the cup was placed inside the bowl. The portion was substantial and included seaweed salad, some avocado and a generous amount of grain. Unfortunately, the tuna had a noticeably fishy taste and an unappealing texture. Very disappointing. I left much of it untouched, along with quite a few of the other ingredients. When our waiter asked whether I wanted to take the remainder home, my answer was definitely no. Would I return? Probably not. I'd be more inclined to try some of the other restaurants in the area in search of better-executed cuisine.
