This is the best Bahn Mi I've come across in Santa Rosa! It's out of the way but I'll gladly make the drive when I'm in the mood for a bahn mi! I've had the 5 spice chicken and lemongrass pork sandwiches and both were very tasty! I'd say the chicken was my favorite because the meat was a little less fatty. If fat doesn't 'bother you, then go for the pork! They have a decent amount of meat, pate, lots of veggies, a delicious sauce. They are also pretty large for $6.75! The staff is friendly and the food is ready in a timely fashion. I haven't tried their milk teas yet but I will probably try one eventually. It's kind of an out-of-the-way location, but I went here because I was in the mood for banh mi and a couple other places I meant to try happened to be closed. Ended up getting a banh mi (forget the exact one) and a taro milk tea. The entire meal was delivered and the two young Vietnamese ladies who helped me were very friendly. After seeing all of the good reviews and cute photos for Yo panda, my boyfriend and I wanted to try it. We love boba and have visited many other spots in the area. I saw a lot of pictures of their slushes on the yelp, with cute cups and fancy drinks, I wanted to take my own photo too. My drink was cool, but my cup did not advertise Yo panda :( We also tried to banh mi, we go two spicy pork. One to share and one to take to family for their lunch. Ours was pretty good, very juicy. The other one had a huge piece of fatty meat and once removed, there was not much meat left in the sandwich. I will be back because I thought my sandwich was good. As much as I keep wishing that this convenient spot would improve, my experience of them keeps getting worse and worse. While the food is decent, they just cannot seem to ever get my order right. Is this due to poor hiring? A language problem? the staff is friendly, but I have never been served by someone who speaks English as their first language... They *seem* to understand my order when they take it - but the contents of my bag (usually discovered after getting to my office) is almost never what I ordered. Oddly, they seems to be perpetually sold out of plain and sesame bagels - while their display cases is always choked by an abundance of flavored croissants that nobody seems to want. Sadly, I have to give a one star. I had been looking forward to trying a sandwich here for awhile. I had the spicy pork Vietnamese sandwich. I started to get worried once I saw that my pork was being reheated in a microwave. To make matters worse it didn't reheat evenly so I had cold and warm on the meat. The pork also had long pieces of fat hanging off it, with that mixed temp, it was hard to eat. I think the seasoning was very sweet, too sweet for me, not too spicy, but tons of fresh jalapeños. Just stopped in for my first experience. I ordered a breakfast burrito for about $7. Menu read; eggs, potatos, salsa and meat of choice. I figured simple enough. When i first recieved it I was delighted by it's size, nice and big. My first bite was as usual on a burrito full of tortilla and a little egg. My second bite consisted of me blurting out " Ow what the ****". Followed by an "ewww". The ow was from the scolding hot, probably microwaved mashed potatos they stuck in the middle. The ewww was from the same potatos because they were watered down and void of any SEASONING! I had flaming hot mush in my mouth! After painfully scraping the potatos out best i could with one finger as i drove down the road i got to enjoy an egg burrito. Remember the meat of choice? I do. I am still looking for it. I would first like to say that I really used to enjoy this cafe. Due to a change in management, the quality of products, and the quality of service has greatly diminished. Today when I went over for breakfast, I requested that the lady that was preparing my food, and cashiering, wash her hands. She refused. I informed her that I watched her come in from outside only minutes before, but according to her, wearing one glove was good enough. I watched her touch a customers food without a glove before this conversation. The fact that she refused to wash her hands at the customers request is the biggest problem! I found Yo Panda when I was pregnant and had a craving for a Bahn Mi and avocado smoothie and had moved to a new neighborhood. It has become one of my favorite places. The staff are incredibly friendly and efficient. It has the perfect Mom and Pop environment, I always feel so comfortable and welcome. I absolutely love the spicy pork Bahn Mi and Thai Chicken Salad. I have never had a better avocado smoothie, it's huge and incredibly creamy. The taro boba tea and milk boba tea or so so good too. If you haven't been here yet I highly recommend you check it out. Kind of a bad joke. Don't know what business they ARE in but was there today and Cafe Bagel Croissants had no Bagels or Croissants. In the past I have found some but they were not fresh and a real challenge to buy one. Service .... there is none. Items are in a case with no name, price or identification. If you point, the girl has no idea what you want or how to get it. Very rude. Really clueless lack of organization. They aren't even trying. This place is perfect for corporate center parkway we needed a coffee shop close to the dialysis center that's open at 5am! The croissants are big and fluffy! You could be the only customer in the place and wait 15-20 min for a simple to go order. When I first started going there were 2 girls working but never in the front area, so I would have to yell "hello!! Someone here?" Every morning. This place is absolutely horrible. Here are the reasons why: 1.Customer service - SO RUDE. They do not say good morning or good afternoon. Its what do you want? No please or thank you's. They just look at you with annoyance AS if you are a huge inconvenience. 2. Cleanliness - When you walk in it is bright and clean, however its the behind the scenes... The do not wear gloves all the time and they touch your food. A couple times I saw someone wipe their face, hair and nose and then NOT WASH their hands. 3. I have eaten banh mi at just about every single spot in Sonoma County that serves them, and the ones at Yo Panda are legitimately among the best I have had! This is the only place I have had banh mi at that I feel holds its own and can go toe to toe with the ones at Simply Vietnam Express, especially for the BBQ pork. I have had both the five spice chicken and the BBQ pork at Yo Panda and while both were excellent, the pork is the standout winner. Actually Yo Panda even gets a few points in my book over SVE for their banh mi in that they are larger, and even slightly less expensive. And I also really love the fact that they don't up charge for adding pate to the sandwich! That is another big plus / advantage to Yo Panda. They are very generous with the ingredients in their banh mi (I find far too many places in the area really skimp on the meat and veggies and you end up with a bread sandwich), and everything tastes really fresh and well prepared. The bbq pork itself is delicious and the bread is also excellent and always tastes like it was freshly baked. In a weeks time I think I have already been back 5 times to Yo Panda, and will continue to go there when I want to satisfy my banh mi urge! Also really nice and friendly people who run the spot too! Work down the street from this place maybe once a month. I'm a Starbucks and Peet's kinda girl but this location is so convenient. The coffee is organic, and good enough for me to come back instead of driving 8 more minutes to Starbucks. Lattes are not so good. The blackberry filled croissants are delicious too.
