All i can say is that the food was really good and esp the service. My wife and I enjoyed their potatoes which came out perfectly crispy. All the food was made from scratch which i can taste and appreciate. The highlight for me was their biscuits and gravy; first time I ever had it. The gravy had bits of sausage which was very nice. The biscuit was nicely toasted on the outside while soft on the inside. On top was, i believe, was fried sage which was perfect. Thank you Graze for the home cooked meal. read more

Surprised by this elevated diner food!! What a gem. I'm a biscuit and gravy connoisseur and always looking for the next order to be better than the last...Graze did not disappoint. Went to breakfast with a couple of friends and enjoyed a nice meal. I had the omelet which had chorizo, cheese, caramelized onions, chives and of course eggs. It came with country potatoes which kinda stole the show. Don't get me wrong, the omelet was tasty and was a decent size, (even for a big guy like myself) but the crunchy exterior/creamy interior country potatoes were awesome. All three of us raved about them. Service was very good, and of course the atmosphere is great since we all have lived here for so long. Lots of locals came in and said hi. If the locals are coming back regularly, it's gotta be good. Can't think of a bad thing to say other than "we wish you had opened sooner". read more

I understand Graze is a fairly new restaurant in Pine Grove. Hubby and I stopped by around 1:30 this afternoon. We were greeted by Jen, a very pleasant waitress, who explained that everything on the menu is homemade and fresh. Great! I chose the chicken fried steak with fennel sausage country gravy and country potatoes. The gravy was phenomenal! The crust on the chicken fried steak was crispy and tasty. The potatoes were amazing - crispy on the outside and soft, buttery and flavorful on the inside. I would go back just to eat more of those! Hubs had the patty melt with garlic fries. These people really know how to do potatoes - he couldn't stop eating the fries - even when they got cold! Who likes cold fries??? Anyone eating these fries, that's who. The patty melt was delicious. The caramelized onions good enough to eat on their own. This place is worth the drive to Pine Grove for those of us down in the valley. The food was great. The service friendly and on point. The place is clean and somewhat minimalistic - which is a welcome change from many of the overly "country" decor in many foothill eateries. I understand that they are now open for dinner two nights a week. Whether you go for breakfast, lunch or a rare dinner evening - GO! We'll be back. read more

On our way to Carson City, we decided to try Graze based on the reviews on yelp. We arrived before noon on a Friday and there were just a few people inside. By the time we left around 12:30 the front half of the restaurant was filling up fast. The restaurant is very clean and nicely decorated for Halloween. We ordered the chicken sandwich and the patty melt. Both were very good. The chips were freshly made and the seasoning was delicious. The waitress was saying that everything is homemade. From beginning to end we had a great experience! We came for breakfast and upon walking in, I liked the ambiance: it was perfectly lit and well decorated for Halloween which was fun! We sat in a booth and had coffee to drink. For food we ordered chilaquiles, gratin, and chicken fried steak. Oh my gosh those were the best country potatoes I've ever had! They are perfectly crispy on the outside. You can tell all of the ingredients are fresh and good quality, and amazing flavor! I can't wait to go back so we can try other things on the menu, the corned beef hash is calling my name! Joscelyn was our server, she was perfectly attentive with our coffee refills and checking on us after receiving our food and she gave her other tables the same level of quality service. We've eaten at plenty of other breakfast spots, and Graze beats them all across the board with terms of price, the elevated menu and flavors, service, and seating. This week we enjoyed two meals at Graze. We had lunch first when went back to enjoy breakfast. On the first visit it was somewhat odd to not be greeted when we arrived. After a few minutes we sat down at the closest table and waited. After a few more minutes the waitress arrived and presented menus. The menu is very small and had limited choices. I had a Reuben and my wife a chicken sandwich. To her delight a gluten free bun was offered. Although the as not on the menu. Had we knew about gluten free options we certainly would have tried months ago. Our meals were good. The homemade chip and hand cut fries were excellent. My sandwich as a bit soggy and the corned beef was almost mushy. But we enjoyed the food. Breakfast was also quite good. My bacon eggs and potatoes were excellent. The potatoes were very crispy and a good portion. My wife's vegetable hash was tasty but the portion was very small and there was very little additional vegetables, it was mostly just small but potatoes. This time we had the same waitress and she did a great job. Although it was strange to have another staff member just standing at the cash register starring out the front window and not helping or working at all. She seemed to be bored and have no idea what work to do. We were pleased with the pebble type ice. I'm sure we will come back and try again. read more

I've eaten here three or four times since they opened and it's always been a very pleasant experience. I own the Ice Cream Shop next-door and it's SO great to finally have some good food choices close by. They have real chefs, whereas the last three owners just had line cooks that got most everything off the Sysco or US Foods truck, opened a bag, threw it in a microwave and put it on a plate. Patrick and his crew are a welcome addition to our little community along with our good friends at the brewery on the other side in the old schoolhouse. So glad we could help show people they can do nice things in Pine Grove, the hottest town in Amador County! Cheers! read more

What a wonderful place, I want to say as a chef this food is fresh not microwave. My favorite are those potatoes ! Yummy Irish approved! This chef is creative. I appreciate that, I can see how people could be shy.not your traditional way of cooking and that's ok. I forgot to take pictures it was that good! It's really very good. My friend and I really enjoyed the patty melt the first time I went and today I find also that the breakfast is really good. The coffee is a little weak for many I think, and no espresso, but the bacon is quite something, like a cross with pork belly, delicious. The combo breakfast with a side of sausage gravy and coffee will set you back thirty bucks with tip but it's a lot of food, enough for two that aren't starving. It's great to finally have a good breakfast place in Pine Grove. It's only open until 2:00 but who knows, they may expand the menu and hours eventually. read more

So this is my second review for Graze, call it an update if you will although I tried different items. Wife and I had the corned beef hash special... Bar none, this was the best meal and overall experience we have had since moving upcountry. Servers were perfect. The place was decorated nicely and even features some local art. ( nice touch) and the temperature was very pleasant. We were seated quickly and our table was set nicely with good quality silverware and the water was served in a nice pint glass not plastic. The only issue we have is that this amazing corned beef hash is not on the menu! Something this amazing should be available all the time! We were there for their first official day open and returned two days later. The cloth napkins and upscale cutlery were the first clues to what would be an excellent breakfast. The French toast with maple bourbon was the best I've ever had. My wife had the sweet potato pancakes and declared them superb. The chef asked us to try a fried potato dish and again, we were surprised by the crispy rich favors. Jen provided perfect service both times. This is now our go-to place for breakfast. I have been a long time upcountry resident and I have to say this place was much needed in pine grove. Phenomenal service, they're very attentive and friendly. Food was amazing! Tried the breakfast sandwich and the potatoes on the side were wonderful. The sausage patties you can tell are hand pressed and were also unique and mouth watering. read more

The service was excellent, however the omelette looked and tasted like it was made with an egg substitute. It was served with country potatoes, but no toast. Sourdough toast was extra at $3.00, which along with coffee brought the total of this mediocre meal to $24.00. At those prices, I don't see the locals supporting this business. read more

Food and Service were great. As for ambiance, could use some more color and art work to liven it up. I had the Shane Stack and some of the best pancakes I've ever had, moist and fluffy. Breakfast was served in large portions, so you could even split the pancakes. The side bacon was thick cut and very flavorful, just right. This is definitely our new breakfast stop.
