Corn beef hash and French toast
    Camille F.

What an incredible spot!! We were on the way back home from camping and decided to stop in for breakfast and I'm so glad we did! Best corn beef hash I've ever had, incredible service ( thank you Heather!) and a wonderful atmosphere with cute Halloween decorations. A must try!

This week we enjoyed two meals at Graze. We had lunch first when went back to enjoy breakfast. On the first visit it was somewhat odd to not be greeted when we arrived. After a few minutes we sat down at the closest table and waited. After a few more minutes the waitress arrived and presented menus. The menu is very small and had limited choices. I had a Reuben and my wife a chicken sandwich. To her delight a gluten free bun was offered. Although the as not on the menu. Had we knew about gluten free options we certainly would have tried months ago. Our meals were good. The homemade chip and hand cut fries were excellent. My sandwich as a bit soggy and the corned beef was almost mushy. But we enjoyed the food. Breakfast was also quite good. My bacon eggs and potatoes were excellent. The potatoes were very crispy and a good portion. My wife's vegetable hash was tasty but the portion was very small and there was very little additional vegetables, it was mostly just small but potatoes. This time we had the same waitress and she did a great job. Although it was strange to have another staff member just standing at the cash register starring out the front window and not helping or working at all. She seemed to be bored and have no idea what work to do. We were pleased with the pebble type ice. I'm sure we will come back and try again.

The French toast honestly blew me away. It Mightve been the best French toast I've ever had, the bourbon maple syrup made it

The best french toast I think I've ever had. Also very fast and genuine service can't wait to go again. I just wish they were open more often! Clear integrity to the culinary arts. I'm a big foodie and can have high standards, but they passed them all. My dad got the burger cooked medium rare and it was juicy and cooked exactly how he asked

They kept them coming once we asked, and they were delicious every time. But we had to keep asking, and at one point, we almost gave up. That said, the service was pretty underwhelming, especially since the restaurant wasn't busy. We waited close to 20 minutes before getting our first drinks, even water. We had noted a special occasion on our reservation, but there wasn't really anything that made it feel acknowledged or special. We shared the skillet, and unfortunately it was extremely soggy. We literally poured liquid out of it multiple times. On the flip side, the lemon poppyseed waffle was a solid 10/10 and definitely the standout food item for us. I'm giving 3 stars because there's clearly potential here. The drinks were great, the waffle was amazing, and I do think this place could easily be a 5-star experience with more attentive service and a little more consistency in the kitchen. We'll definitely give it another try.

I had the shrimp scampi and my husband had the chicken both dishes were superb!! We started with the shrimp cocktail each and the split pea soup and finished with the Upside down pineapple cake. It was a huge piece. I couldn't eat all of mine. The singer had a beautiful voice, she looked so elegant and it was a tribute to 1957. They gave you a card to answer trivia questions from 1957. Neither of us were born yet so we had to use google. It was a fun thing to do. I'm so glad we took the opportunity to go to the Hotel and afterward we went downstairs to the speakeasy to ring in the New year in Sutter Creek. We live in Sparks, NV so it was nice to get out of town and do something different.

Hotel Sutter Restaurant has been on my list of places to check out in our neck of the woods for a while. We for sure wanted a classy place that served cocktails, and Hotel Sutter fit the bill. Both of us were also craving a good craft burger, and from what I saw in other reviews, the burgers looked delicious. I made a reservation for us on OpenTable just in case, but since it was a weeknight I wasn't too concerned if we had walked in. We were seated nearly immediately, and our server cheerfully asked us what we wanted to drink besides good ole H2O. I was really glad we came to visit around Christmastime, since they were serving holiday cocktails and other beverages. I went with the partridge pear martini, while my husband went with the Santa's spiced cider. My martini was oh so delicious and perfectly strong, and I had a small sip of my husband's cider, which was refreshing with the perfect holiday-esque notes. We read a few mixed reviews on the apps, so went straight to the entrees instead. I chose the bacon jam burger and my husband chose the traveller whiskey burger. Both of us upgraded to the garlic rosemary seasoning. I went with fries and my husband went with tots. Honestly, we were glad that we didn't end up ordering an app, since the burgers themselves were pretty filling! We both asked for medium on the cook temp of our patties, and they delivered. The meat was perfectly juicy with a wonderful charred flavor. The bacon jam was so delicious, and the balsamic arugula paired perfectly with everything. My brioche bun was pillowy and yet did not fall apart with all the juices of the burger. I did not get a chance to try my husband's burger, but he stated that it was also top notch. My fries were piping hot, with a perfect dusting of garlic rosemary flavor and sprinkles of Parmesan cheese. I tried a tot and that was also delightfully crispy and flavorful. We asked for ranch and that went well with both sides. The ketchup was great as well. I loved the ambiance of the restaurant. Old buildings are always up my alley, and the rich history of Hotel Sutter can truly be felt simply by touching its brick walls (that is, if you believe in the spirit realm). I loved that each table had its own light, but the restaurant had the perfect dim setting for a classy date night. Our server was very friendly and attentive, and kept our waters refilled. We had a concern regarding the pricing of the cider on the bill vs on the menu and that was fixed immediately, with the rest of the staff notified for future reference. It was a tiny discrepancy, but one that we caught quickly and simply wanted to bring up. Hotel Sutter Restaurant is definitely on our places to return to in the future, and I'd love to sit on the balcony some other time and enjoy some brunch and mimosas. If you're looking for an excuse for date night or are just feeling fancy, definitely come relax, sip some delicious cocktails, and enjoy the delicious food Hotel Sutter Restaurant has to offer!

But how could I know that experience (and the service!! OMG the service!!!) was going to be so outstanding, that I would come back again the next evening to eat again?? The first night it was happy hour, with a spicy jalapeño mule, buffalo cauliflower, smoked Brussel sprouts, and a couple of beers. But the service was so attentive (almost too attentive) that we felt like we had to watch for gaps so we could take a bite or a sip in between folks checking in to see if we needed more food, more refills, or just a friendly hello! The next night was burgers, and brews, and bloody Marys - and again, the most amazing thoughtful, interactive and attentive service I have ever seen! And being a business owner, I can tell you that it's not enough to have a beautiful setting on the river with great views and a decent menu. Having servers, managers, bartenders (hell even the bussers had smiles and were polite and friendly) absolutely seals the deal. I really have no reason to go back to to El Dorado Hills in the near future other than work, but because of this single restaurant experience, I can tell you I am trying to find more reasons to return!

It was really cute and quaint, the ambiance gave me historic vibes and I loved it!! We sat inside cuz of how cold it was outside. I ordered 2 drinks for myself, the chips (so amazing with the sauce/dip) and the grilled cheese sandwich (not too shabby). There wasn't many options for food but found that they keep it very limited due to the hours of operation. So that cleared it up. What I found very interesting was that we had to order at the bar for our food and drinks. Even though there was a server and a bartender, so I found it very odd. But they did bring our food and drinks to us so that was nice! For all of the things I ordered it came out to like $43. To me, a bit steep for just myself only but what can I expect haha. Will def bring my family back here again though!
