Horrible customer service from the second I entered the door and spoke with an employee. With God as my witness, as soon as I walked in a G.Monkey employee literally told me to stand back from the counter cause I smell like alcohol!?!? And not in a joking way but in a very judgmental and insulting way. I don't even drink!! Nobody has ever said that to me in my entire life. Of course he wouldn't give me his name. Even that wasn't enough for me to simply walk out. We continued talking and everything out of his mouth was so rude and condescending. I'm still in shock as I write this in the Grease Monkey parking lot. Needless to say I'm leaving and will not be using this company in the future. BTW I found out Adam was the employees name. Brought in for a tire sensor issue- Technician didn't turn off my front 2 seat heaters or heat (although they said they left nothing on, both were on full blast once my car was jumped). Battery now shot- Thanks guys!! Also- will now have to bring my car to another tire shop to get the sensor reprogrammed (I had to go back in to have them tell me that, since they never mentioned it or that the light would stay on). Overall, terrible customer service/lies that will now cost me a new battery. read more

Went in for an oil change and head light replacement. Very professional service every time! I was asked if I wanted to get a tire rotation when I pulled up. I said yes, and went on my way to grab a bite to eat! Upon my return to pick up my car, everything had been done except the rotation that was recommended. The manager of the store was very apologetic about not having it done. He asked if I could wait, and that he could have it done right now at no charge! He asked his guys for all hands on deck. Called before I went and the person who spoke with me was quite rude when answering the questions I asked. They were the only place I could get my car in on short notice because the place I usually take my car to didn't have an appointment opening until the following week. I figured, what's the harm? Well, I think they did a good job, maybe... I'm not sure yet but I guess we'll find out. My problem with the store is that I was not called when they finished working on my car and when I called and asked they sounded irritated that my car was still sitting in their lot, even though I didn't know it was done. When I went in to pick up my car, I asked the desk guy why I wasn't called and he said that he didn't know and why I was asking him about it rather than someone else. read more

I'm unsure if it was the manger or not but the man who seemed to be running the show was incredibly rude to me and spoke to me as if I was a moron when I asked questions about the different oil they offer for oil changes. The rest of the staff seemed to be pleasant enough but the boss/managerial figure was horrible. When I asked him an estimated wait time he said openly that he will try to upsell every customer, so If they decide to add on more services it will take longer and he was unwilling to give me any time frame. He just basically told me to leave if I wasn't able to have a long wait time. Needless to say I left without the oil change I needed. I was unable to go to the shop I usually get my oil changes done at due to them having some equipment down. Lesson learned, I will stick with the professional and friendly shops and not this one. Professionals who operate with respect for their customers. I brought my Class C motorhome/RV in for an oil change. When one of the techs was pulling the RV out of the garage, he accidentally turned too early and the bikes we had mounted on the back of the RV hit the wall. The front wheels on both bikes were damaged. I was upset. Danny (the manager) immediately handled the situation: we called a bike repair place, got a quote for the repair, and Danny discounted my bill by the cost it would take to repair the wheels. Problem solved, professionally and without hesitation or any of the typical BS I've come to expect when a company messes up. On top of this, the service (oil change, diagnostic for brake lights, air filter change, taillight replacement) was done thoroughly and expertly. Elvin is an OG expert mechanic who knows all types of vehicles inside and out. Oh, and I forgot to mention: while the repairs were going on, another employee cleaned all our windows and mirrors--no extra charge! I'd recommend this business to all. read more

Used to come here all the time with personal and commercial vehicle. The last time some guy comes out before I say what I want done and says I need a coupon for my work done on fleet vehicle. I tell him that I have never needed one before and he says that I can't help you. Without waiting more than thirty seconds for me to locate what they are talking about in my van another guy comes out and tells me that I need to move my vehicle even though there was no one behind me. I am always in and out in 30-40 minutes and the employees are pleasant and helpful. I have never been sold anything I didn't need or lied to about services I need unlike many other auto repair shops. I brought in my car which was too low on oil pressure to start for some oil. Instead the man at the counter told me that he knew enough about cars to know that I didn't need oil instead I needed to have the service technician look at it. He said they would call me in an hour to let me know what was wrong. By 1030 the next morning I still hadn't heard anything. So I called them and asked him what was wrong. He said that he didn't know that it was a diesel and they weren't able to diagnose problems with diesels. I asked him how he couldn't have known that it was a diesel and that I had come in for oil changes before and they certainly knew that it was a diesel then. As well, it says TDI on the back of the car as well as having a large biodiesel sticker. How can a guy also confident about his knowledge of cars who can tell me that he knows that I don't only need oil that I need a service technician to look at my car not know that I have a diesel? And as far as customer service goes, I wouldn't anybody call me to tell me?! I had to have a tow truck come pick up my car. While I was on the way to your shop to travel with the tow truck to a diesel specialist, the same man I had spoken to the previous day told me that he had already released my vehicle and that it was gone. When I asked him why he would release my car to somebody else without my permission he told me that that's what they do here. To top it off, he gave me nothing as far as paperwork or list of things they did to my car or put in it or anything. All I got from him was "unless you need anything else I have other customers here who need my help... thank you." After treating me an elderly man and a younger couple so rudely they not only said they didn't have time to put in a new air filter but I definitely needed it but also charged me for the most expensive oil but put in the wrong and cheaper kind. The only reason I know is cause I went to a different grease monkey, on 13th and Santa Fe, and asked them to put in a new air filter that I was told I needed and showed them my receipt when explaining how bad I had been treated before. So glad I didn't read the reviews before coming here! Adam answered when I called and said that oil changes were first come, first serve, and that they only had one person in line and typical oil changes took about 25 minutes. I was in a rush, so that worked for me. I drove over, they greeted me outside, we talked about everything they were going to check while doing the oil change, and I okay'ed everything they said. Twenty minutes later, with a full oil change and air filter replaced (that poor thing was black!) and an interior vacuum (this was a first for me), I was out of there! Customer service was great. I talked to four different guys there, and every single one of them was an absolute sweet heart. They told me about a couple of things I should look into the next time I plan on getting any work done, and they didn't push the issues on me at all. I have had nothing but good experiences with this Grease Monkey. They have gone above and beyond every time I have used their services. I appreciate them beyond belief for their honesty. My first interaction with them happened when I carelessly purchased the wrong kind of power-steering fluid at the 7-11 next door and the clerk at 7-11 wouldn't let me return it minutes after purchase. He is the one who actually insisted that I go to the Grease Monkey and make sure it really was the wrong kind for my car. And while it irked me at first that he didn't trust that I knew what I should use in my own car, I am now grateful that he started the wonderful relationship with this Grease Monkey. The attendant that day told me that I was right, and that I would need the specific Honda power-steering fluid. And he let me trade. TRADE. he took the 7-11 fluid and GAVE me a Honda one FOR FREE. It was the most amazing thing that could happen at Grease Monkey. I've returned there since for minor repairs and every experience has been equally heartening. Never going to another Grease Monkey again. Guy at the front desk said "High mileage?" I said "It's got about 140k on it, so yea, I guess it has pretty high mileage." No response. Pick it up a couple hours later and he hits me with a $71 tab....for an oil change. I drive an '05 Subaru, not a Lamborghini. I said "Wow, I've never spent nearly this much on an oil change." He says, "You said you wanted high mileage." I said, "All you said was 'high mileage?', and my car has 140k miles on it so I said yes." No response. I'm not a mind reader, use your words dude. He knew what he was doing and I'm sure they get away with this all the time. I sent the location an email about my experience and gave them a chance to make it right before I resorted to yelp. I have went here twice for full service oil changes. They have a nice staff. Of course they try to sell you a bunch more services but they aren't pushy. The reason I am writing a review is because I had car window paint on all my windows. I had spent an hour trying to get it off myself and only half succeed. When I got in my car after the oil change, I realized they had spent a lot of time getting the rest of the window paint off my car. I thought it was really kind of them since I was dreading scrubbing it off again. I would definitely get my oil changed by them again. read more

In the past I have had very good experiences with this location and simple tasks such as an oil change. Unfortunately I feel the need to write this review now after my two last encounters with an individual who I believe is a manager (from what it seems based off similar encounters mentioned below. I believe his name is 'Dan'). I heard a loud rattling coming from the bottom of my car about 3 weeks ago. I brought my car to this location and they took a look immediately, gave me all the information I needed about having a "loose exhaust shield" and ordered a new part. Took all of a matter of 5 minutes and the gentleman at the front was extremely nice. Fast forward two weeks later, no phone call or status update on the part so I called the shop to ask if it had arrived. Dan was very impatient on the phone, verbally sounded irritated I was even asking, telling me the whole process of how his co-worker ordered the part was wrong because he didn't charge me ahead of time and that is not how they do things (basically making it all sound like my fault. I don't know how mechanic shops work!?) Fast forward another week, the rattling is so loud it sounds like the part is loose and dragging on the ground when in motion (OH and I drive to Colorado Springs for work daily so this is safe I am sure) I called back again today for a status update and again Dan was completely rude and portrayed his attitude as if I was absolutely ruining his day asking if the part had come in. His favorite answer was a stern "mam, I don't know." He didn't offer to inquire to the company about the status of the part. When asked on average how long parts take to come in "mam, I don't know." Then when I mentioned feeling the need to see another mechanic because of how long it was taking and I felt unsafe (plus his attitude), the answer was "fine." With a hang up. Bottom line, if you need a quick oil change or something simple I do recommend this shop if it is convenient. Maybe don't expect smiles and handshakes all the time in consideration for the posts below. But, if you need a part ordered or something more serious worked on, maybe stick with an old school stand alone mechanic and ditch the grease monkey. They seem to have an issue with ordering parts and hospitality. I feel like I've wasted 3 weeks while being rudely talked down to. read more

I'm really surprised at the bad reviews for this place. I have NEVER had a problem here. I live about 2 blocks away and love that this shop is dependable, kind and does great work. I have been going here since I moved to Denver 3 years ago and it is my go-to mechanic. I've gone to get my oil changed without an appointment and been out in 20 minutes or less. Had my battery replaced the other day and was done quickly and at a good price. There are always the same people working so there must be very little turnover, which is a good sign! They take the time to explain things and in a way that I can understand (I am not automobile-inclined lol). My car is always vacuumed when I pick it up, which I love! read more

I usually read negative reviews with a grain of salt, so even after reading bad reviews about Grease Monkey I decided to go ahead with an oil change here, and regret the entire experience. It took 1.5 hours for an oil change, I watched the workers moving very slowly, taking breaks to chit-chat, and when my car was returned to me, my husband's sunglasses had been crushed and left in the floor board. The desk worker denied the incident and responded to my concerns with attitude and took zero responsibility. So my $100 oil change actually cost $250 now that we have to also replace a pair of sunglasses. Terrible customer service. read more
