When I bought my car I was lucky enough to have a warranty which included free basic maintenance on the first 25,000 miles. Lo and behold, that time has come to an end. A quick Yelp search suggested Grease Monkey locations scattered around Denver, similar in style to the Jiffy Lubes I'd frequent way back when. I felt confident with Grease Monkey, and overall I'm satisfied after one visit. I arrived as soon as they opened (maybe even a few minutes before) and had an attendant come up to the car within seconds. It started off a little rocky since he couldn't find my car in the system? Eventually we progressed. Oil change and tire rotation, let's go! You get what you pay for here. Around $100 for an oil change and tire rotation sounds a little high, right? But did I mention your car is done in about 30 minutes? That's crazy fast and I will pay for quick service! Plus, if you check in on Yelp you can use their $10 off deal. I'll take it! The two gentleman who worked on my car and rung me up were extremely professional. They even showed me my air filter to express how clean it was. Came for an oil change, got the usual upsells these places try to give you. BUT when I was leaving my check engine light was on! (It was NOT on prior). I let them know, all they did was clear the code, I left, my car started jerking while idling after. I took it to the dealer, they told me they had put the wrong oil in and overfilled it as well as bumping something internally causing the jerking. Do NOT go here unless you want to ruin your car. I downloaded yelp specifically to give these guys the five stars they deserve. I've been here three times now and they're all great. Hella friendly, communicative and funny. I had a dead light on my license plate and they fixed it free of charge.. My partner came here in her car last month and had a broken clip on her front bumper and they fixed that free of charge as well. I genuinely feel like some of the "bad" reviews for this location are straight up bogus; just people trying to get one over on a company because they're desperate. read more

I went to this location to have my oil changed, rear windshield wiper replaced, and to have my headlight replaced the oil change was the only thing out of the 3 things I asked for that got done they replaced my front windshield wipers and not the rear. the complete opposite of what I asked for. they told me they would check if they could replace my headlight but then later told me they don't even have this service and to try going somewhere else. even though online it clearly states they do replace lights. horrible experience. will not be going back to this location read more

Overall, a good company, but on two different occasions, I got an oil change and they were just lazy and didn't clean spills after the oil change which lead to visible smoke coming from under the hood. The final straw was when I went for a tire rotation and it did not end well. They basically stripped an entire lug and lug nut and acted very nonchalant as if they would fix but did not!! It was $130.00 to replace the lug and lug nut at different establishment! Very disappointing!! read more

Told 10 min left and every mechanic seemed to be on other cars for about 15 until finished mine. Another car showed after my car and left before mine did. The service department is knowledgeable, consistent and kind! I'll never take a vehicle anywhere else for an oil change. My only wish is that they had a break center. A+ service and presentation, but overall this place was expensive and I know I can get oil change and air filters changed for under $140 for a Honda Civic. I do like how communicative they are, how people checked in with me and showed me why a new air filter was needed, and that they have screens showing how much time is left in your service. Everyone wearing uniforms is also a nice touch - made me feel more comfortable and higher end somehow. They offer discounts if their estimated time is wrong. The Yelp check-in offer helped, too, but even with the discount it's still more expensive than other places I've been to. This was a last minute service though so I'm glad I was able to get in without having to plan ahead. read more

After I pulled off I saw that they charged me for a $30 fuel treatment that I did not AUTHORIZE, ASK FOR, OR RECEIVE. A shout out to one of the mechanics at the Grease Monkey on South Golden Road. I was concerned that my car was dangerously low on oil (although I wasn't needing an oil change for another 1,000 miles). The very pleasant mechanic explained that I just needed to top off the oil and that I should check the oil level after every other fill up. He not only topped off the oil (I needed more than a quart) but showed me how to check the oil level. He also helped me very quickly even though there were several cars ahead of me. Additionally, He didn't ask for any payment! These days we're so often treated rudely. This was a refreshing change! They have my business and should have yours! read more

I've read a bunch of reviews on grease monkey and there was a lot of bad reviews, but this place didn't have as many, so we decided to check it out! Bad idea.... Driving on the freeway, we started to hear a loud flapping sound... turns out they either left almost all of the damn screws off of the panel, or they barely even put them on, cause when. I checked my vehicle the panel was attached by only one screw!!! Now I'm back at the location and they are making me wait and acting like nothing is wrong and they did everything well. I now understand why hey people hate Grease Monkey so much. Sad to think I was actually impressed when I was there getting the oil change done to my vehicle. **Responding to your reply! So now you are calling us liars. I looked at it myself and know that it was barely hanging up. It would not have been flapping in the wind if it was only one screw that was broken. I understand that clips and screws can brake over time, but they do NOT all break at once,over night, right after being at your shop. And if they were broken, you should have replaced them before we had left your shop then had to go back upset. My daughter desperately needed an oil change and is new to the area. I found Grease Monkey on Yelp and read mostly positive reviews so decided to give GM a go. I was able to get right into the bay without waiting. After dropping off the car there, the service technician explained in detail recommendations (other than oil change). I was not surprised my daughter needed additional service as she hasn't tended to her car in over a year. I waited outside while the services were performed, about 40 min all told. They left my battery cover to float freely under my hood. I did not notice until a loud rattling sound began (being the cover flying around under my hood). I shouldn't have to check up if they put everything back together correctly. I've been going to this Grease Monkey for 2 years and I am not happy with what happened here. I took my vehicle here to get an oil change as it is more convenient than setting up an appointment with the dealer. I have come to expect the high pressure sales pitch (like a $40 cabin filter change that costs $8 from an auto parts store and about 3 mins of my time). I put up with that for the convenience. The last time I went here though was a completely different story. Not long after I got my oil changed here I noticed a big puddle of oil under my car. I was afraid I blew a gasket and was in for a major $$$ repair. Took it to the auto repair place and after about an hour they told me it was just an improperly installed oil filter that was leaking. $90 later they topped off the oil and pressure washed the undercarriage. That's an expensive oil change. I mean you're an oil change place. You do one thing. It looks like from the reviews below if you are a pretty girl you get a flower on your dash. I just want my oil changed properly. Guess from here on out it is the dealership. Turns out they aren't much more expensive anyway. Hard to recommend an oil change place that can't install an oil filter properly. read more
