I've always gone to these types of places for oil changes. Jiffy lube style drop in and be out in 45 min kinda places. By a wide margin these guys were the best experience I've had, and it was cheaper than the jiffy lube down the street! $30 cheaper for my truck! It was clean. Free coke products, and I was out of there in 23 min. I don't even live in Utah but will probably be getting my oil changed next time I'm in town. I've always liked grease monkey but this was my first time to this location. I was in and out in about 25 minutes with an oil change and new windshield wipers. I love that they do the little extra things like vacuuming, cleaning the windshields and a free car wash. It also helps to have the popcorn and soda there and a little play area for kids. Absolutely fantastic service. It's not a repair place, but I didn't know that when I first got towed there Sunday evening. Nonetheless, Monday morning, they helped identify the problem, and then the manager, Gary, goes totally above and beyond and tows me just down the road to a place with an mechanic. I would have had to shell out for a tow if he hadn't done that. Also, the oil change I decided to get while I was there (I happened to break down right when I was due for one) went well. They didn't try to upsell me or anything, and as far as I can tell they did a great job. I have nothing but positive feedback for the Grease Monkey in Lehi. I have been taking my vehicles here for many years, since they first opened, and have never had a bad experience. The staff is always friendly and they won't push you into getting recommended services. There is also a very nice and convenient Gorilla car wash next door. While you wait you can visit the Kneaders restaurant, BK, Smith's Marketplace and other locations very close (within walking distance) nearby. Sometimes the wait can take up to an hour (if they are very busy...usually Saturday midmorning/afternoons) but normally it takes no longer than 30 to 45 minutes. read more

This is the best Grease Monkey! Pulled up and it looked kind of busy but they took my car immediately and changed my oil in 15 minutes! They get people in and out and don't try to push anything extra or unnecessary on you. I even got a flower before leaving! My experiences here had just been okay. However, each time I went in they tried to up-sell me on synthetic oil. The prior time I'd been there I asked them to stop trying that up-sell. This most recent visit - 3/21 - they tried again. I told the clerk to stop and he said that's what the engine requires. We had a not-very-pleasant back-and-forth. I showed him my owner's manual where it says nothing about synthetic and in fact recommends the conventional weight I asked for. Also, the oil cap shows the conventional-oil weight that I've always used - not synthetic. I told the clerk that I had gotten 195k miles on this vehicle - all on conventional, and that he needs to stop with the synthetic. Well, he got smart alecky and said, "Well, congratulations!" I just shook my head and went to the waiting room. When my car was completed, he tried to get me to sign a "waiver" that I put oil in the vehicle that Grease Monkey did not approve of. I scribbled on the slip, and he got smart-alecky again. So I asked him if he'd be interested in my talking to his manager about how he treats customers. Of course, he didn't say anything. Whatever, I thought. I'll just let it go. Until.... My low-tire warning light was on the next morning. I went and got my tires aired up and didn't think too much about it. Then the following morning, the low-tire warning light was on again. I went to my tire shop and they found, not one, but TWO sheet metal screws in my tires (left-front and right-rear). After the oil change I did not go near any construction areas, nor did I go anywhere that I would have gotten two screws. Now, there's no way to know if these smart-alecky, no-customer-service people at Grease Monkey did this to me because I defied their recommendation and actually defended my decisions about my car. Perhaps it's a total coincidence. I'll never know. I do know that I'll never, ever go back to this place. Not at the risk of having any of my vehicles unsafely (!) sabotaged because I choose not to take their incorrect recommendations. read more

I was with my husband today helping a family member move and the serp belt frayed and split and whipped a coolant hose splitting it. So coolant was shooting all over the place and the engine was heating up rather quickly. My husband decided we could make it home if we got a coolant fill up and Grease Monkey. The techs were super helpful and suggested several solutions, but in the end they topped off our coolant in the radiator, and filled a gallon jug with coolant for us all for free. This got us home and eventually to a shop to have the hose fixed along with the belt. These guys were awesome and very helpful. read more

I always go to grease monkey for regular maintenance and I love them but this week they really saved the day. They quickly diagnosed and fixed a coolant leak that was causing my van to overheat. They did it for a good price and got my van back on the road in record time! I called the dealership to compare prices and grease monkey was tons cheaper and could get it done the same day. We've had both of our vehicles in multiple times -which actually says a lot because my very mechanically inclined husband is extremely picky but he always comes back from this Grease Monkey location with a smile which says a lot because who doesn't stress car maintenance, repairs & their associated costs!! We don't find ourselves leaving the dealership with smiles (unless its in a new car) & we sure are not smiling after paying dealer labor & part prices! This Grease Monkey location really does have an exceptional staff that makes me comfortable about where I'm dropping of my car & to whom I'm entrusting it with. I hate getting oil changed but this was a great experiance today. They were quick with no pressure to buy extra stuff. The waiting room was clean, popcorn and soda while you wait. There is a play area and fish for my kids to keep them entertained. The customer service was incredible!! My car was vacuumed so well and Windows were so clean that I decided to save the free car wash from the coupon I had for another day! I love too that they have an iPad that you can enter your oil Change and after 9 one is free. Very impressed with this place! read more

I decided to try out this grease monkey as it's close to my house. The only concern I had initially is they let me sit in my truck for a minute or two before coming up to take the keys and see what I wanted to have done. From there the experience was awesome though. Quick, thorough, and the staff were helpful. The guy that was helping me messed up on the price (he under charged me over $50) of the fuel filter I asked to have installed and when the manager came up to tell me, I made a joke about giving me a bait and switch. The manager said, "you're right- I'll eat it". I laughed and told him I was totally kidding and he ended up letting me pay half the difference but I thought it was cool he was going to stick to what his employee said. Oh- and he made up the difference later by doing the state inspection ($10 charge normally) for free. Pretty awesome if you ask me. I did not feel like a dollar sign with this company. Please read for safety reasons! I do not write negative reviews however it's important that customers understand how important it is to have quality work when it comes to your vehicle maintenance. I have a very common vehicle, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and this location was in a rush and they installed the wrong oil filter. I had no idea that happened when I left the shop with my 7 year old daughter in the back of the car and we were going 70 MPH on I-15 - suddenly my Jeep went from 70 to 40 MPH in 3 seconds. We nearly got in a car accident on the freeway. I pulled over only to find out my Jeep went into a safety mode because of their faulty work. We decided this could be just a one time error and we decided to give the location another chance. It happened again, this time with my husband's car. Used the wrong filter and had to be fixed by a different auto dealer. This is completely unacceptable and dangerous! I want the Lehi area to be aware. We could on our vehicles to take us safely from point A to point B. And we rely on the expertise and care of experts. This has not been the case for this location. read more

I work right across the street, so I decided to go and get an oil change on my lunch break. Grease Monkey also offers a "discount" to employees at my company. When I checked in, they told me it would be 35 minutes for a "full-service" oil change. I was there for an hour and 15 minutes before they finished. Before they started, I also asked them if a tire rotation was included in their "full-service" oil change, and they said it was; however, when I checked out, they charged me an additional $18 for the rotation. After I said they told me it was included, they gave me another "discount." Out the door, with two "discounts," the final cost was $45.23 for an oil change and a tire rotation. I think I'll definitely take my time and money elsewhere. I also won't be referring this place to my coworkers. Oh, and don't be fooled by the soda and popcorn machines--both weren't working when I was there. The soda machine sprayed syrup all over my clothes, and the popcorn machine was unplugged. read more

I've been a regular customer at this Grease Monkey for the last couple years and have been pleased in the past with their service. However, I went in for an oil change today and when the service guy asked me what oil, I said just the synthetic please. (I drive a Chevy Equinox). When I went to pay they said it was going to be $83.00. I had a $10 coupon and he said he had already taken the $10 off. I said wow your prices have gone up and he didn't say anything. When I got home I called them and asked what their pricing was for a synthetic oil change and the guy said they have 2 choices, the first is regular and is 69.99 and the second is super refined and is 80.00. Turns out that I'd been charged for the super refined even though I had asked for just synthetic and no one had explained or given me a choice of two different synthetics. They just went ahead and did the more expensive one. When I explained over the phone the guy got sassy and short with me and said if I wanted the $10 difference I could come back and get it. Also, they did the complimentary car wash, which is nice, except that my side driving mirror was all scratched up, which it hadn't been before. It was the first thing I noticed when I sat down. I pointed it out and a guy came to wipe it, but the scratches wouldn't come off. They were actual scratches going across the mirror that hadn't been there before. This is a new car and I was super aggravated. He said that he didn't know how they got there and I suggested that likely their car wash machine's strips are getting worn or something is going on with them. He basically said he just didn't know and didn't call a manager or offer to do anything about it, or anything at all. So, just putting this out there so everyone can be more knowledgeable, wary and careful of this Grease Monkey than I was. read more
