I'll preface this with the fact that the majority of the interactions between us and Nathan were through my fiance. We'd been toying around with the idea of doing a garage floor epoxy for a while, but wanted to do it right. We knew the horror stories from DIY kits, and wanted to get this professionally done. We actually used our neighborhood's Facebook group to see if there were recommendations that people had used, and sure enough, Great American Concrete Coating (GACC) was a name that popped up a lot as recommended from other homeowners. When my fiance reached out to the company, Nathan was quick to respond and was actually able to meet us same day. He came over and looked over our garage, while telling us stories of other nearby garages and projects he had worked on, complete with pictures. He assessed our garage floor, made recommendations, and tested moisture at the threshold which had some moisture damage from how the home builders had set it up. We gave us a quote, we picked some flake colors, and he got us set up with a date only a week away from when we first met! Because we had to do a bit more when it came to concrete prep/repair, the job took up two days (1 day of cleaning, fixing, and prep, 2nd day for coating). He communicated well every step of the way and was very efficient and thorough with each step of the coating process. We had full confidence in what he was talking about and what he was doing. When it was all said and done, our floors looked absolutely amazing. The moisture damaged garage threshold was a crisp, clean line, and the flake coverage is 100%, leaps and bounds better than what you'd get in a DIY kit. He was an absolute pleasure to work with and 100% professional in both mannerisms, personality, and the work he does. We have zero regrets in choosing GACC, and it is 100% worth what we paid for, for the peace of mind of having this professionally done and knowing this will stand the test of time! Don't give into their insult of a price due to a their terrible sales pitch. These guys remind me of door to door solar panel sales man. They insult you with the price after you tell them what others that use the same polyurea/polyaspartic formula have quoted......then call you back later to try to convince you their product is worth 20 percent more than their competitors. If you actually listen to what they pitch you then do the research 80 percent of their pitch is bull crap. Here is the deal epoxy with polyaspartic top coat is more than enough for regular Joes like us. Only people that see the benefit to polyurea are those that use heavy machinery and deal with grease and oils all day. Both products are topped with the same coat (polyaspartic) but where the true insult is, is where they say their polyurea is much stronger than their competitors. I'd recommend you all to shop around and find the company you're most comfortable doing business with as this company is quite upselly. Edit: owner states their quote was within 200 dollars so I'll just spill the beans. I went with fast lane and when I told their salesman I was going with them he immediately tries to put down their competitors. I was quoted 2650 and I paid 2160 for the same 400 sqft quote with no repairs needing to be done on my garage. It's black and white when you are simply asking for a 20x20 quote and it's a waste of time having folks show up to your house to tell you the same exact thing and try to upsell you. Owner states if I would have done my research in which I did all the research in the world and is the reason I was able to hear the bullcrap coming for their salesman's mouth and call him out for it. I tried to be broad by stating 20 percent but in reality I saved 390 dollars and received the same product of polyurea with polyaspartic top coat. Don't get scammed by this scummy company. Edit: owner states I was demanding over the phone, I would kinda request it the conversation was recorded to please share it with me. This is how the chain of events went, salesman called me I'm from blah blah blah are you still Interested in getting your flooring down. I say yes however I've received a few quotes already. I'll be completely transparent these are the prices I revived because I don't want to waste anyone's time. I state the quotes I received from 3 company's 1 from fastelane and two others who use epoxy with polyaspartic top coat for these prices. I'll add after I was insulted with their prices which was 20 percent more than the others we hung up. I then received a call back in which the sales man tries to pitch me on which their product is better blah blah blah. I stay quiet because at that point there isn't anything for me to say. He then states well I don't want to take any more of your time and we both hang up. I love I can go tit for tat with this owner because transparency is what we need in business. Now let's discuss my research and what this owner just tried to pitch in her responds to my post. She states (I'm paraphrasing) epoxy doesn't have uv perfection, which is true but when you add a full broadcast of flakes with an polyaspartic top quote the epoxy will never see the sun (due to flakes) and never amber because of the polyaspartic top coat. So there isn't a benefit with using polyurea on this point or something to justify their steep price tag. On to the next point, durability epoxy has been around for decades and it's more durable than anything a normal human being will ever do to your flooring. So although partially true that polyurea is tougher than epoxy due to flexibility she doesn't cover the part that polyurea has a lower vapor barrier compared to epoxy. So don't quite give in to her pitch. Truly for a normal human there is only one benefit to factor in and that's the cure time. Polyurea cures faster but that's when you look yourself in the mirror and state is it better for me to stay off my garage flooring for 3 days to save 20 percent or not? Also the owner tries to justify the pricing due to them laying it on thicker but unless you are watching them lay the product down etc and measuring out their 1 gallon to 160 sqft oppose to what the sticker say 1 gallon to 210 sqft (their pitch) you'll never know and after this review I wouldn't trust that they are honestly laying it on thicker. It's just a bull crap sales pitch once again. Deal with caution. read more
