The chips were freshly made and the salsa was nice and spicy! Awesome.

My first time at ironwood kitchen and I was surprised at how inexpensive everything on the menu was! I'm not really used to ordering at the counter but the service was excellent. They kept checking on us to see if everything was ok. The food was great and some of the best French fries I've had anywhere. I'd definitely recommend this place and I'm looking forward to coming back someday. Two thumbs up from me and my friend!

Back in town for the week, and this spot is saved in my list for ABQ spots I enjoy and have tried. Theyre green chile is so good. I ordered delivery to take to the nearby hospital and everything was just as yummy as last time I was in town and ate here. 2 orders Huevos rancheros with green chile, 1 order biscuits and gravy with eggs, and 1 order bacon. Bacon is so good it tastes deep fried. And the green chile had me mouth breathing from its kick which makes it an EPIC SUCCESS. I love how they give you hot homemade tortillas as well. Since I get delivery when in ABQ, I cannot speak to the ambiance, but there is an option to add a tip for the crew working, and they'll leave you a funny joke and note on your Togo container so I would say service is 10/10 via in house or delivery.

Today we went to Ironwood Kitchen. I was so excited to go today, after looking at the menu online on their website. The prices for the food looked fantastic and like such a fantastic deal... however when we showed up, all the prices for all the items on the menu were at least $3 to $5 more than what their website menu had said. I ordered a pastrami sandwich and honestly it tasted like a fried bologna sandwich. Not that it's a bad thing at all... just unexpected. My husband got a burger which was good, but a little too charred for me. The fries however saved it all... they were freakin delicious. You order when you walk in at the counter and the food is brought directly to your table. The staff was friendly and quick. Refills were free. It was a little warm in there, but we managed to find a spot slightly closer to their vent... though I would say some additions of fans would not hurt at all! Will be back to try something else...

In the process of moving to Rio Rancho. Yet to try Ironwood but am looking forward to it as it is popular and I will be within walking distance. Thought that I would post the current menu w/prices for anyone interested. Pictures of menu are badly out of order. Can't post a review yet but based on recent ones, I am optimistic it will be positive as well.

Ironwood Kitchen: A Hidden Gem on Albuquerque's Upper West Side Located at 5740 Night Whisper Rd NW #250, Albuquerque, NM 87114, on the outskirts of Rio Rancho, Ironwood Kitchen is an easy find off Unser. I stopped in for breakfast this morning and ordered the burrito, which filled the entire plate. By the time I snapped a picture, half of it was already gone! It was smothered in green chili with a side of breakfast potatoes, making for a hearty and satisfying meal. The menu at Ironwood Kitchen is quite eclectic, offering everything from a classic Reuben sandwich to the "Six Guy" burger, green chili stew, and a ham and turkey sandwich. Whether you're here for breakfast or lunch, there's something for everyone, but breakfast is definitely a standout. The interior pays tribute to our fallen heroes in law enforcement and the military, with walls covered in memorabilia--a touching homage that adds a meaningful layer to the dining experience. The chef is super friendly, and the counter staff are just as welcoming. They'll give you a large card after you order, then bring your meal out to you--no need to hover at the counter. The place isn't fancy, but it's clean, cozy, and a great spot to enjoy a meal.

The sunrise burger is still one of hubby's favorites in the city, and the fries are incredible. I tried the High Point Mac & cheese (green chile mac w/steak sliced on top) and yowza. So much flavor, and the steak was perfectly tender. The restaurant has food nailed. And our server was amazing. Unfortunately, th manager did a poor job estimating how busy they'd be on a Friday night, so the two servers were running ragged. The manager pitched in, but they were playing catch up with the silverware and we had to wait for it when the food arrived. Which, no biggie, but it was a fork when I had steak and my husband had a messy burger. So we right away asked for knives. I pointed out my steak, and the manager got snarky with us like she got it. But then she brought us butter knives. When I got up and went to the bar to ask for a steak knife, her attitude was even faker. I don't abide fake when someone's eyes and mouth clearly say they think you're stupid or annoying or both. As a manager, you learn how to school your face and keep people happy or you don't last in management long. Also, if she miscalculated staffing, then it should have been her job to get into the bathrooms and keep them presentable. They weren't. Paper everywhere, and the walls need some serious touch ups. It's hard for people to trust the food safety if the job-food public areas aren't kept clean and well-maintained, you know? We'll be back because the food IS awesome and we always have an enjoyable meal. But they definitely need to turn an eye toward building upkeep and service.

Made a visit back recently with some friends on one of our girls nights out to catch up. The visit was great, and I am glad that we get a chance to get together every month or two. Just not sure we'll pick O'hares again. I ordered a cup of the french onion soup and the sliders from appetizer menu. The french onion soup was good, I can say that. The sliders is a different story. They came with six sliders. That was literally it. Meat and bread. Nothing else. No cheese, no garnish, not even sliced pickles. That alone was $17! I was shocked when I saw the bill! You can typically order a burger with all the fixings and fries for that price or less. Our service was fair. Our server was nice enough and checked in on us. But the food was very underwhelming. I wouldn't recommend them, but you could may have a better experience than me. Just don't order the sliders! Then, to top it off, after ordering dessert, we are chit chatting and finishing our drinks. We slowly start to notice that the servers were grabbing their purses and heading to the front. Apparently they had been closed for almost 30 minutes but no one came to inform us that they were closed for the night! LOL! Silly place.

They have shakes, desserts, yummy starters, mac and cheese, burgers and much more! What's my favorite thing? So many items are gluten free!! Hallelujah!! Even the burgers can be ordered with a gluten free bun! We also had a super sweet waitress! I had to go gluten free last fall and it really cut down on us eating out as most places have little to no options. Here, MOST things are gluten free!! Like what you may ask? Well, today I had chicken fried chicken, green chile gravy, mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables- a medley of corn, Lima beans ,bell peppers and red onions. They use a gluten free rice flour and the batter on the chicken was crispy and delicious!! They are also super generous with their portions so I took half of my food home and can't wait for dinner! I also had a double chocolate shake and a cold brew. They proudly brew Whispering Bean Coffee which is super tasty! She also had a Key Lime Pie Shake. No photo of this, sorry! They normally have a gluten free fruit cobbler but they were out. I'll be back to try that for sure! The jambalaya was a little better, but it still wasn't great. It actually made it to like a 3.5 star quality dish; it was good enough to eat, so we ate this. The fried oysters were pretty good, especially when dipped in their spicy tartar sauce, 4 stars for this dish. I might actually crave this once in a blue moon. Their Mac and cheese had so much potential. It was thick and creamy how I like it, burned cheese on it was great, they attempted to put som cajun seasoning in it that you can barely taste, but the part that docked them points the most was the Mac was overcooked probably sat on a heat lamp for a very long time. The fries were soggy after only a 5 minute drive. They also use styrofoam, which I personally don't like eating from due to the forever chemicals that leach into the food when it's hot. Also after spending $40 and asking for an extra sauce I got charged a dollar. I mean okay I don't thin the side sauce was worth the dollar but also the sauce that came with it was only filled half way. I mentioned that am still I was charged the buck. The lady up front had an alright demeanor, the lady cooking in the back seemed really sweet and asked me how i found them, had a smile etc. I think they should have someone like that cashiering.

I was waiting to pen a comprehensive review of everything on the menu, but that'll take a while, so I'll start with what I absolutely love: the beef. In a burrito, on a plate, on a plane or in a boat, I do very much love that tender, bright beef. Paired with a handmade flour tortilla (I know, corn is usually better, but trust me), it's going to be hard for me to explore the rest of the menu because the red meat is just straight legit. Pork comes in second place, chicken third, and as some reviews have noted, the carne asada can be tough, but that won't stop me from pairing an order of fries with a good local IPA. Speaking of, that's what I'm hoping for, an evolving experience with some tasty local brews and new dining adventures. I love the commitment to healthy cooking oils and food that's cooked to order, and the employees are clearly quite happy, which makes me feel good about supporting them.
