First time visiting this establishment, nice to see how they honor all veterans past and present. The entire building was clean and airy. Food....well what can I say, the turkey on sourdough with a side salad was tasty. My father and husband ordered the chicken fried steak with eggs and a fresh biscuit was great. Please honor this restaurant and stop by.

The chips were freshly made and the salsa was nice and spicy! Awesome.

My first time at ironwood kitchen and I was surprised at how inexpensive everything on the menu was! I'm not really used to ordering at the counter but the service was excellent. They kept checking on us to see if everything was ok. The food was great and some of the best French fries I've had anywhere. I'd definitely recommend this place and I'm looking forward to coming back someday. Two thumbs up from me and my friend!

Back in town for the week, and this spot is saved in my list for ABQ spots I enjoy and have tried. Theyre green chile is so good. I ordered delivery to take to the nearby hospital and everything was just as yummy as last time I was in town and ate here. 2 orders Huevos rancheros with green chile, 1 order biscuits and gravy with eggs, and 1 order bacon. Bacon is so good it tastes deep fried. And the green chile had me mouth breathing from its kick which makes it an EPIC SUCCESS. I love how they give you hot homemade tortillas as well. Since I get delivery when in ABQ, I cannot speak to the ambiance, but there is an option to add a tip for the crew working, and they'll leave you a funny joke and note on your Togo container so I would say service is 10/10 via in house or delivery.

I got the sixth guy burger and it was above average for a burger at this price point. Service meet expectations. I had to wait to bit to place my order as the staff was busy. I love that the restaurant has so much memorabilia dedicated to the military!

Today we went to Ironwood Kitchen. I was so excited to go today, after looking at the menu online on their website. The prices for the food looked fantastic and like such a fantastic deal... however when we showed up, all the prices for all the items on the menu were at least $3 to $5 more than what their website menu had said. I ordered a pastrami sandwich and honestly it tasted like a fried bologna sandwich. Not that it's a bad thing at all... just unexpected. My husband got a burger which was good, but a little too charred for me. The fries however saved it all... they were freakin delicious. You order when you walk in at the counter and the food is brought directly to your table. The staff was friendly and quick. Refills were free. It was a little warm in there, but we managed to find a spot slightly closer to their vent... though I would say some additions of fans would not hurt at all! Will be back to try something else...

In the process of moving to Rio Rancho. Yet to try Ironwood but am looking forward to it as it is popular and I will be within walking distance. Thought that I would post the current menu w/prices for anyone interested. Pictures of menu are badly out of order. Can't post a review yet but based on recent ones, I am optimistic it will be positive as well.

If you know where Hot Tamales is, go behind it and hit Upscale Rio! First of all, this place has so many options of what I'd call comfort food and everything is good! They have shakes, desserts, yummy starters, mac and cheese, burgers and much more! What's my favorite thing? So many items are gluten free!! Hallelujah!! Even the burgers can be ordered with a gluten free bun! We also had a super sweet waitress! I had to go gluten free last fall and it really cut down on us eating out as most places have little to no options. Here, MOST things are gluten free!! Like what you may ask? Well, today I had chicken fried chicken, green chile gravy, mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables- a medley of corn, Lima beans ,bell peppers and red onions. They use a gluten free rice flour and the batter on the chicken was crispy and delicious!! They are also super generous with their portions so I took half of my food home and can't wait for dinner! I also had a double chocolate shake and a cold brew. They proudly brew Whispering Bean Coffee which is super tasty! My husband had the Green Chile Chicken Pot Pie and really enjoyed it and ate every bite! My mother in law had the Basic Cheddar Burger with fresh cut fries and raved about it. She also had a Key Lime Pie Shake. No photo of this, sorry! They normally have a gluten free fruit cobbler but they were out. I'll be back to try that for sure! All I know is I found a place that has super tasty gluten free options that I can't find anywhere else. I love you Upscale Rio! I'll be sharing this with all my gluten free friends! See you soon!! XOXO

Burger was cooked well and was filled with flavor! I got the steak fingers after reading reviews and unfortunately they were not good. Wildly different while still being so freaking amazing. There's a certain spice or something that they use in the Birria that hits just right. That's the only true way I can explain it. I can't tell if the 'consume' is chili or what from here? At Los Pookies it seems to be like a broth, but here is a thicker & spicier sauce which compliments the tacos so well. (please let me know!). It gets quite busy in here especially with it being setup as more of a sports bar, with the TV's and such. They have a shaded patio which I believe also may have a TV* (don't quote me on this part) . All the servers I have had have shown great hospitality. I will continue to return. -- Follow up before I post.. Last time I was here and it was really busy (like 30 min wait busy cuz of whatever game), I was feeling dizzy and they gave me water and a chair & made sure I was okay.. I feel especially this day and age is not something you see ever or expect. So thank you.

Was not crispy, cubed chicken inside was dry, was hoping for some guac but only came with some tomato tasting salsa. Here's the thing for the nachos. The ingredients individually were good, you can tell it's quality. However all together the flavors did not mesh well. Had queso, shredded cheese and Cojita. The asada was tender and good but the red sauce they make and put on top was not very good. Can't say I'll be rushing back anytime soon. Especially for the cost. But is a cool place to hang out at the bar for a drink.

My dining companion…read morewas craving something from another restaurant on the other side of town, but considering it was so late, I suggested coming here as it had similar things on the menu, and I am so glad I suggested this place. We walked in, and the place was a little crowded, but we were still sat pretty quickly. I liked the atmosphere of the place because it seemed very open, inviting, and had a certain local charm to it. As soon as my dining companion saw the people around us getting their food delivered it looked so good she no longer remembered what we came for and we ended up ordering something completely different. We didn't wait long for our waitress to come over. She was very nice and attentive I asked her for a drink recommendations, and she mentioned some good ones. Considering the day before was New Year's Eve and I probably should've took a break from drinking, I said say screw it and got something light. It was a blood orange cider, and it was delicious, I was not expecting it to taste like that! Unable to make our minds up, we decided to split a salad and pizza. For the salad I wanted to get the Valley grande, but we compromised and got the brazos which was essentially a Caesar salad. That's how it was huge. We had enough to share and more, it was also tasty, the dressing. You could tell was definitely house made. For the pizza we decided to get a split half truchas and half chimayo (my half) and it was amazing the flavor was great and the topping fresh. Although next time I will ask for well done. On to dessert. The best thing we ordered all night was the Apple calzone. It seemed to be the size of a little football and came with two scoops of ice cream. I could tell it was made to order and it was absolutely delicious! We cannot wait to go back.

These days it's very rare for me to be in the Rio Rancho/ West Side of Albuquerque but after my favorite restaurant with amazing calzones closed up shop at the beginning of the year, I found myself looking for around for a decent calzone. With fond memories of this place I decided to give em a shot. The restaurant was very busy when I arrived. Luckily I ordered ahead. Got myself a pepperoni calzone with extra cheese. I walked in bout 20 minutes later and the staff had it ready to go. I thought great that's awesome. That was until I got to the car and inspected it. I knew this thing was coming home but I was really hungry so I decided to at least get a couple bits in. The considering the calzone was prepped pretty quickly after I'd ordered I have to say it wasn't very warm and the sauce was way too thick. The crust and the flavor overall didn't impress me too much I admit. It wasn't until I got home and dug further into it I realized the center was not cooked well. The center had not melted at all. There were strands of shredded cheese piled on pepperoni you can clearly tell had not melted at all. I should have called to complain but by then an hr had passed so I ended up throwing it in the oven to melt finish cooking it. Even then I wasn't impressed. Considering how expensive it was at almost $20 I expected a lot better quality. For the same price I could've gone to another pizza joint and ordered a pizza instead that I know would've been way better. Overall between the crowded tables and bustling traffic inside, I'm sorry to say they miss the mark on this one. After this experience it's no wonder I haven't thought to return in so many years. I unfortunately won't be returning anytime in the near future.
