Recently had a neighborhood luncheon there so trying to rate overall would not be fair, as service always tends to be slow, but our server was very nice, patient and accommodating. Can't comment on the main restaurant area as we were seated in a back room with "Desperados" on a banner outside. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was horribly noisy and that was an obvious downside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was just "different" enough to make it stand out from other restaurants. I ordered a favorite of mine in many venues but it was actually totally different at 2 Cranes. The Turkey Melt had sautéed onions, guacamole, cheese, bacon, and not a lot of turkey, giving it more of a mellow flavor rather than the sharper green chili, tangy fresh ingredients of most turkey jack sandwiches. Afraid I didn't get a photo! I opted for the sweet potato fries which, often overdone, were actually kind of floppy. Worth a second trip....other things I'd like to try. read more

We were looking for a nice casual meal outside of the hustle and bustle of old town but at least nearby. They were done just right, though unfortunately veggies make tostada shells kind of soggy after a short time of resting on them. But that really wasn't a huge drawback. The staff did a great job of checking on us and making sure drinks were refilled and we didn't need anything else. I went to Two Cranes for my college graduation brunch and it quite good. i would give this place a 3/5 stars . the service was great , very fast, and great customer service with great understanding! The restaurant itself chose your seat, i discussed with my waiter regarding a couple options on the food menu they raved about the fall specials . Thus i tried the shrimp salad , it came out fresh and very well presented . When i ate it i immediately tasted off, i tried about 2-3 more bites and ate about 2/5 shrimp . i started to feel very nauseous. now the shrimp was fresh looking and hot when eaten no abnormalities where shown . The pretzel bites were good the queso was okay . I think it would've been better with a good mustard or honey mustard . I asked the waiter to take my salad as i didn't like it and i started to feel very nauseous. She asked my opinion i told her i wasn't satisfied she immediately offered to take off the salad from my ticket with no complications she was very understandable and accommodating ! i boxed up my pretzels and paid for my ticket. I would say i don't know if i'll go back . If i do i would definitely get different entrees . Maybe it was me or maybe it was the food or both. We took the fam on a Sunday afternoon. It was quiet and uncrowded. We found a seat inside after finding the only table to fit our party size on the patio dirty. Inside it's all bar height tables with 3 low top, but the benches are significantly taller than the tables, so it was very uncomfortable for our tall family. The menu has a ton of delicious sounding menu items, so it was hard to choose. We ended up trying the southern fried chicken salad, chicken sandwich, green chile cheeseburger, and truffle mac & cheese. The salad was simple (read:basic) and I would've preferred fresh fried chicken strips over a handful of fried frozen chicken nuggets, but their hot sauce options added nice flavor to jazz it up. The gc cheeseburger was only so-so compared to the many options offered around town, same went for the mac & cheese. The chicken sandwich was juicy and delicious with the bacon and grilled onions. Our takeaway was "decent but not memorable." I tried the hot honey lavender margarita, which was amazing. Probably one of the best margaritas I've ever had, honestly. Over all, come for the drink selection, give the food a try, but don't expect to be blown away. If you're tall, head outside or to the high top tables. read more

What a find! This restaurant has the best cuisine we've had in a long time. Fresh and well prepared. Indoor and outdoor seating with friendly staff and our waitress checked on us often. We started with appetizers of Chorizo Rellenos, Flautas, and Elotes. There's ample enough portions to not only make these your meal, but shared with another. The Chorizo Rellenos had a perfectly fried crunchy egg roll wrap around a poblano filled with chorizo and gooey melted cheddar with a creamy green chile sauce. A wonderful balance of savory and heat. Our absolute favorite! The Flautas were just as good though, stuffed with pulled chicken also super crispy and topped with sour cream, guacamole, lettuce, tomato, and sriracha. Our order of Elotes was a whole ear of fresh, crisp corn topped with mayo, cojita cheese and cilantro and lime chile. Perfect! We finished our meal with their Spinach and Herbed Goat Cheese salad tossed in a wonderful balsamic vinaigrette and topped with fried prosciutto, mandarin oranges, roasted red bell peppers, red onions and pistachios. First time here! Thursday's are $10 burgers! We arrived and were told to pick a seat. It was not super busy. We did and waited over 25 minutes to be acknowledged.... waters came but with no refills, other guests came and seemed to get their orders in because we watched as plates of the $10 burger kept coming out. Soon our waitress told us they made a mistake...really? I think they forgot and instead of just comping the order after another 10-15 minute wait, they gave a very slight discount. Slight. Needless to say, the burger was delicious!!!! it was not worth the wait but it was juicy, cooked as requested with golden crunchy fries on the side. This bumped up my review from 2 "stars" to 3. Maybe a beer menu on the table or behind the bar? Let's get to the food. Gotta say. I was pleasantly surprised! Here's what I had: Burrito bowl- it's sort of like a chipotle bowl. My carne asada was seasoned well and my rice was cooked perfect. 4 of 5 stars Philly cheese steak sandwich- it didn't look like it would be great but it in fact was pretty tasty! The meat had great flavor, however my fries were cold and the cheese was just ok. 3 of 5 stars. They were short staffed but still attentive. 3 of 5 stars. Oh my gosh and Amazing were the first words spoken by my husband after taking his first bite of the Prime Rib sandwich and I totally agree. And also noteworthy is how perfectly hot the meal was - it definitely added to the overall enjoyment of the meal. You are missing out if you don't try it. While I started with the Prime Rib sandwich, the sweet potato fries were also to die for. I wish I could take them home. FYI - home is KC. I got the Grilled Chicken Cesar and loved their twist on a normal salad. Our golden was drooling to get at his grilled chicken breast. This will be our new go to when traveling through Albuquerque. Maybe we will get to stay long enough to enjoy some of the other offerings. We sat on the patio and Max W was our server - knowledgeable, friendly, attentive. Great find just outside of Old Town Albuquerque. We dropped in during the Christmas season. I had the cubano, my husband had the green chile stew and we shared the flautas appetizer. I paired my sandwich with the Steel Bender Lloyds 3 o'clock Kolsch, my husband had a nut brown ale. All of it was delicious, but very spicy. So just beware. The French fries had a kick too, but we enjoyed them just the same! Definitely worth a visit. Two Cranes is my staple, go-to, my "always craving their food" restaurant. Here are the highlights: consistently consistent good food and drinks, kind and attentive staff, atmosphere is warm- they always have a game on their many tv screens. Without fail, I order the steak and enchiladas (Xmas style, double papas) they are great about letting you alter your dish, which I love. The spicy Margarita is just that, very spicy and lip puckering fresh. I tried my first michelada here, I'm obsessed now. However, when I order one anywhere other Two Cranes, I'm met with disappoint. It's never the same or as yummy as TC's. The wings are 100x better than any chain restaurant, and their ranch is second to the holy classic that is Dion's ranch. Took some friends over to 2 Cranes after a wine tasting at Sheehan's tasting room in Old Town. Didn't realize the restaurant does "Taco Tuesday." They offer 3 tacos for $8. It is a great deal. Lunchtime and hungry - go figure. Stopped here, good timing. Not many people, seat yourself so that was easy. The bartender was our server and she came with water & menus. She returned quickly with our drinks. But by then we had lunch selected. Street Corn for appetizer, Philly Cheese Steak & Green Chile Chicken Pasta. The Street Corn came out both looking and tasting great, lots of Cojita Cheese, Cilantro, & Chile. Our meals also looked pretty good, the cheesesteak was stuffed with tender beef - easy to bite into. Not overloaded with cheese, but enough to enjoy. Nice take on an East coast staple. The Chicken Pasta was loaded with plenty of shredded chicken. Pretty much chicken in every bite. Nice flavor and the chile was enough to taste without becoming overwhelming. Our server checked on us frequently and without asking brought a box for the remainder of the chicken.
