However, after almost a decade of dealing with orangey highlights, it was time for a change. I did love my old stylist, but a new salon owner made it difficult to book with her. Thankfully, I found Assilah Latifi at Lush Salon. She has a deep understanding of formulating the right shade for you to flatter your skin tone and natural hair color! She gently explained that dying your roots with a dark permanent color would affect the highlights as that root grows out and make the effect orange. In one long session, she was able to cancel that orange and achieve that ashy highlight look I was hoping to get. Not only that, she was extremely professional. The woman who answered was so kind and welcoming. I didn't get her name, but she referred me to Maria and even let me know Maria would be leaving soon--but she was willing to wait for me. Maria went above and beyond. She waited for me, fixed my hair beautifully, and had me in and out in less than an hour. She was professional, talented, and made the entire experience stress-free. The overall vibe + the holiday decorations were so aesthetically pleasing and added to the full experience, I felt immersed in Vika's service and could tell right away she put a lot of passion into what she does! She made me feel listened to and excited, and she introduced me to some clean, natural hair care that I still need to go back and purchase from her! I took a short paper survey so she had some insight to my hair history and goals, showed her some photos and explained what I wanted, and she got right to work. I'm posting this a little late, but better late than never…read more I visited this salon and specifically met with a stylist named Gina for what I thought was a very simple basic service, just a few highlights on the top of my hair. I explained exactly what I wanted, and showed her my picture of the previous highlight I had done 2 years ago. it should have been a straightforward appointment. Unfortunately, the results were extremely disappointing. The entire top section of my hair turned orange, and there were no visible highlights at all. I left the salon shocked and upset because the outcome was completely different from what I had requested. Instead of subtle highlights, the whole top of my hair was one orange color. What made the experience even more frustrating was the way my concerns were handled afterward. When I contacted the manager to discuss the outcome, I was met with a condescending attitude. Rather than listening to my concerns and trying to find a solution, the conversation quickly turned argumentative. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience left me questioning the level of training and professionalism at this salon. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this establishment to others. I hope this feedback encourages improvements in both customer service and basic hair-coloring skills.
