With Great Clips, cosmetologists take "clip notes" on how you usually like your hair to be cut so that if you go to a different Great Clips, they'll still have your preferences on file. Mary went the extra step to confirm that I wanted the same cut and proceeded to cut my hair. I enjoyed my pleasant conversation with Mary and learning about our holiday plans. She gave me her full attention and checked throughout the process to ensure she cut my hair how I liked it. I appreciated her friendliness and professionalism. This Great Clips location is cheaper than others that I've been to in Austin. They also happily take coupons if you have any on you. As such, I'm happy to tip my cosmetologist for my savings! Who does that for people who have risked their lives to keep America safe. Really! We would give the stylist a twenty dollar bill and give them the change. Gave this place two chances - my son and my husband both went there this past week, separately. Both experiences were not great. My son is young and was scared, the hairdresser did not try to settle him or make it fun - only rolling her eyes and joking with her colleague that she could take this client. She managed to cut it, but it was a terrible job despite my son being distracted by a cartoon I provided. My husband went separately, and the hairdresser charged $18 for a cut where he looks literally no different to when she started. He reports it was less than 5 mins. I was refused service today at the Briar Forest location due to me requesting my hair to be blowdried and cut dry. I have visited this location several times before and have always been accommodated but today I was treated very poorly. When I inquired as to why I could not receive a dry haircut service over the phone and suggested I would escalate this issue I was then hung up on by Adriana Meyers, who claims to be the manager of that store. I then visited the store and was treated and spoken to very disrespectfully and the police were called on me, although I came to the store in peace. The intention of my visit was to determine who hung up on me and if I could get my question answered as to why my hair could not be cut dry even though it has been cut there before even by Ms. Meyers who stated by phone " that just not typically how they do it." This is clear discrimination because I am a woman of color, I can assert this because I was asked by phone if I was "African American". Hair is hair and every person has the right to customize services of this nature to best suit themselves as needed. If I could give 0 stars I would. read more

Before coming to this location, I used to go to Fantastic Sam's on 1960 and Eldridge but then my favorite hairstylist left and so did my favorite hairstyle. Now I have had a whole bunch of experiences from oh my god I feel like a million bucks to oh my god WTF happened to my hair! Last time I went I got a haircute (yes, I wrote haircute) from Matthew. Excellent customer service, super hilarious, and oh yes - GREAT HAIRCUT! He cut my hair exactly as I told him. If my haircut was based on just this one experience then this location would have five stars but unfortunately that is not the case. One time I came here and there was a guy who I have never seen before. I gave him clear directions on how to cut my hair but unfortunately he used the clippers all the way up to the middle of my head. I looked like I was back in high school and was going for the "I got my hair cut so that I won't have to go get it cut for the next two months" look. I almost never leave reviews on Yelp but I wanted to sign in and specifically post this as she gave me a fantastic haircut and we enjoyed some wonderful conversation. She was a pretty big football fan and had to school me a bit on what was happening in the league! Anyhow, I travel very frequently for work so I often have to get haircuts on the run in various cities around the country. Don't bother coming here. I literally just got a haircut here, and I felt compelled to write a review. This lady named Evelia cut my hair. I just asked for a trim on the back and my sideburns, and that's what she literally did. Took all but three minutes. Went up to pay, and they charged me for a full haircut. I was flabbergasted because all I wanted was a trim, and that's what I got. Still, she stood her ground and charged me $13 [they advertise $5 for a trim] for 3 minutes of her time. I'm furious about it, and I will never come back here again. They rip you off and charge you for something more than what you asked for and received. I did the on-line check in they always ask you when you walk in. There were two hair stylists in the shop....They both had customers....I waited 10 minutes, another check in came into the salon...10 minutes later one of the stylists finished, she motioned the guy behind me to come to her chair. I spoke up and told her that I had checked in before him...she motioned that I was to wait for the next stylist....wtf? If there had been any conversation I would have given up my spot but waving your arms in the air leave me confused I don't speak that language. Why have a check in if your not going to follow it? Nice barber shop. The barbers in there were very social, entertaining and professional. I'm so used to going to a barber shop where the barbers talk amongst themselves and I'm just a number.. Do not go to Tiffany. I showed a picture for reference and she did not take the time to actually look at the photo, she basically glanced at it. I asked that she left the top part of my hair alone because I still wanted it long and to shave the bottom. She didn't listen and decided to cut my hair the way SHE wanted. She also cut the top part of my hair anyway and barely did anything to the parts that needed to be shaved. My hair is now extremely short and I recommend REALLY letting them know what you want. read more

I have been to great clips before and had excellent experiences. I am trying to save money so I came in today because it's cheap. I showed the lady a picture of what I wanted and she did nothing like it. I wanted a bob about an inch above my shoulder. I showed her the picture, it's an easy cut. By the time she started cutting the front it was too late. What she gave me was a very short bob about an inch above my jaw line. It's the worst haircut I've ever had. I don't want to go anywhere or see anyone. I went in wanting a cute trendy haircut for summer and I came out looking like an overweight teenage boy from the 90s. There is nothing I can do to save it or make it look better. I went to the Great Clips in Houston Tx on Eldridge zip code 77077. I had the worst experience ever and will never return. I've been before and had good experiences with Monique who is the manager and a younger African American woman named Tiffany. The two of them are wonderful but today May 11, 2018 I wasn't lucky enough to have either them be present. There were two Hispanic women who opened. One was older with glasses and the other was younger, heavy set with long hair. I'm African American so I wanted to make sure the woman cutting my hair knew how to cut black hair. She assured me that she did and that was a lie (the older Hispanic). She started cutting my hair and I didn't like it so I told her to cut a little more off the sides and I would be done. All of a sudden she stopped cutting my hair and told me that the heavy set woman would finish my hair. Which I thought was rude and unprofessional so I move to her chair and she had an attitude to begin with. I told her that she could cut a little off the top and I would pay her but never come back again because I was not pleased with what I saw thus far. She started to get confrontational and told me that I was rude and that I didn't let the other woman finish my hair. I didn't have a chance to let her finish when she abruptly told me to go to the other woman. I will never in life step foot in this shop because I was treated very poorly.
