First impressions, I thought the salon was clean and rather small. They had 4 techs working and they were all busy when I came in but I didn't mind waiting. I showed my nail tech an inspo pic and let her know that I wanted square round nails and she got to work as soon as she was free. When she was working on my nails, another customer came in asking to get her eyebrows waxed. My nail tech stopped mid service when she was working on my nails to wax her eyebrows. I am patient so again, I didn't mind waiting however I could tell that the tech felt rushed and stressed. I'm not sure if this is the norm here but the tech only trimmed my nails before applying the dip powder but did not clean up my cuticles or trim any hangnails. Also, when she was filing down the dip, she cut 3 of my fingers which stung. I understand that she had another customer waiting on her but I don't think it was appropriate for her to rush through my service.

I've been coming here for several years off and on and usually leave happy, but as if the infection wasn't bad enough.... The customer service has really gone downhill. It appears a bit messy up at the front & crowded at the desk with girls just hanging out. Their technicians (never the same) seem unsure& timid, and there is usually a lack of communication between the front desk and the technician that I have to clarify repeatedly, even though the only thing I ever get is a simple, classic mani no polish, buff and go; and maybe a basic gel pedicure. The prices also went up by at least $10 a service overnight, once the name switched. Previously, I had a $100 gift card from NOA that they would not honor. Why not? I understand ownership changed, but to not honor past gift cards for longer doesn't bode well for established clients. Another time, back in May , I was told the wait would be over 45 minutes for a mani, even though that area appeared completely empty. Ok - so I walked back out and across the street to Blush Salon and got a lovely manicure right away. I don't expect I'll be returning to Genova any time soon.

I did a chrome color - pricing was not disclosed prior to me choosing the Chrome either (Beware any add-on is charged. You are basically nickel and dimmed for every choice. My pedicure became an easy $100. Onto the quality of my nails. The quality was horrendous. The tech did not go all the way down to the cuticles so my fresh nails with a brand "new set" (I don't use tips and still got charged for a full set ) it looked like they were already a week old. After having the tech redo them to fix her mistake, they still look like shit. The tips of my nails are missing chunks of chrome. I'm not willing to walk back in there because this manicure and pedicure became an easy $215. I have never in my life paid that much for a simple pedicure and nail set. We came to Houston to try something new and expected it to be a little pricier, but I did not expect to give away my first born child. Nor did I expect to leave completely unsatisfied.

Unprofessional. AirPods while talking the phone, and painting my nails. She even sprayed my toes and hands for a faster drying process and it still ends up smudged. I'm disappointed that even for $30 pedicure and a $25 manicure, I would at least get a decent service. Not a, "you get what you pay for" service. I should've know better. My fingers still smell like polish. The vigorous handwashing is coming. Pictures speak for themselves, even after speaking up. UPDATE: 4/20/2026 I called back, as they response asked politely to directly call back. While the person in charge for the day, answered. She stated that any classic service does not have any warranty. So she offered 15% a future service. I politely decline because, 15% is nothing compared to the end result I paid for. And second, it's good to know that my claim of "you get what you pay for" still stands. As you can't even get a "warranty" to fix your nails even though the tech did a bad job. There's no point is trying to have self care, even at the lowest price point, because you literally will get what you pay for. $30 for classic with bare minimum results.

I get in the pedicure chair and wait for a bit. My feet are soaking in the water for probably almost 10 min. So I'm sure it's good enough. Here's where it just goes down hill. My nail tech was nice at first but throughout the service, I could just tell the job was going to be bad. After my feet had been soaking, he noticed leftover polish and instead of using polish remover, he used the buffer so hard on my big toe, that it broke my skin the second toe and it bled. I literally told him to stop and he said "oh have you been bleeding?" Like hello? He goes over to the right leg was about to buffer again and I said "stop". I ask him to use something else. The paint job? Oh my. Pictures will speak for itself but gosh glad it wasn't a premium service. He didn't even put the spacers on correctly. The lady next to him had to help me get a bandaid because he didn't give me one. Just dabbed neosporin. Never in my life had I ever had a bad nail job. I did speak up but it's just not enough to come back. The tech was already ignoring proper procedures.
