I will be honest with you. I have had a good experience every time I've gone to this location....except for today. Oh my goodness. Edward Scissorhands got ahold of my hair. I don't know how this girl got her cosmetology license. I don't think she could have done worse. It's completely uneven on each side and the layers in the back look like when I tried to cut my Barbies hair when I was 8. It's bad enough that I am never going back to this location. I don't know the name of the girl that cut my hair, but please beware. I have short hair and now I have to go get it cut into a pixie to fix what she did. Took my reluctant son for a hair cut last week. The stylist he saw was Mel. She was friendly, professional, and accommodating. I stepped outside to make a business call and thought I would have enough time (my son is really picky and he usually asks a lot of questions during the cut), but she was done within 15 minutes! His haircut looked great and he was happy. We will definitely be coming back here again. Something that is also cool is that they give you a coupon for your next haircut at a cost of $9.99. The manager named Lou was the worst professional I have ever met. She is a bully plain and simple. She made fun of my psoriasis even though I walked in to the store APOLOGIZING saying that it is very bad right now. This is my biggest insecurity and she made fun of it for 20 minutes straight. She also would not stop saying that my hair was dead from too much straightening and it looked bad. She repeatedly said she wished I would take care of it. Insult after insult. If she hadn't already had half my hair cut I would have walked out. She kept making disgusted sounds because I have psoriasis. She also was so aggressive with moving my head and shoving me into position for her to cut my hair. Also wouldn't wear her mask properly and got mad at me for trying to keep my mask on. Great place. Clean, comfortable, and friendly. Check in was super easy using their app. Wait time was less than 5 mins. Got pretty busy while we were there, but they got everyone in and out quickly. Beware... if you go online and check in... and the wait shows 85mins, you have to actually come in every 30 mins to ensure they don't remove you from the waitlist. And if you show up, at 80 mins you will have been taken off without any notification and told you must wait and be added to the end of the list. I went today on a spur of the moment just wanted a fresh cut which I have done on my hair hundreds of times before from different stylists. My current stylist didn't have availability for a couple of weeks and I really wanted to cut my hair so I could dye it this evening.....BAD CHOICE. The girl was very friendly and sweet, however my cut is very choppy and nothing of what I wanted. I showed her a pic of what I wanted which was shoulder length with long layers and a somewhat of an A line , my hair is wavy/curly so this cut usually works well. She started to cut and cut and cut..and was trying to convince me I was going to love it, as she was still cutting and chopping away. I bought the can of mousse she suggested and was hoping when I got home it would grow on me. It's horrible, far too short, she went inches above what we discussed and it's choppy. I HATE IT. My hair will have to be in a pony tail for months before it will look halfway decent. She was so focused on giving me a "full" look she completely ruined my hair and I now look like a poof ball, so disappointed and upset. I wish they would actually consult as they are cutting and not just chop away, for someone who said she has been doing this for 6 years, my cut is the total opposite of what I wanted rather then the front be longer then the back she made my back longer . The staff is nice and if you are looking for a simple trim, this place is ok. Did an ok job on my daughter's hair. My hair was a different story... I asked the girl for an a line bob with an undercut. I even showed a picture of the cut I wanted. First problem was the girl cutting my hair was still learning to cut hair. When she did the undercut, she cut too high. After she did the undercut part, she told a senior stylist that she had difficulty doing a line bobs, so the senior stylist began cutting my hair very quickly. She did a bunch of very short layers which is not even close to what I wanted. I suspect she was attempting to repair the damage done by the first girl who did the undercut too high. When I got home I saw what they did to the back of my hair. It was a disaster. They didn't even do the layers correctly. I went to another salon and showed the what was done. They were couldn't believe that a "professional" would do this to someone's hair. It's so bad that my hair had to be cut shorter to fix what they did. This is going to take at least 8 months to a year to grow out these really short layers that I never wanted in the first place. I usually call a place before leaving a bad review to give them a chance to fix their mistake. However, this was so bad that I didn't want anyone at this place touching my hair for fear of making it worse. read more

Today at about 10:15 am I went to Great Clips at Day Creek Market Place in Rancho Cucamonga. I had checked in online and was to have a 15 minute wait. I arrived and there were two people getting their hair cut while, me and one other guy waited in the lobby. Upon completion, one of the gals called in the other gentleman as his name was on the list ahead of mine. Once, the other lady was completed and after cleanup, I expected would call me. She didn't, she disappeared for 15 minutes, I expect on break while I sat in the waiting room. When she returned, I had noticed the other gal was just about finished so when called "next" I declined and said I'd wait. I had decided, while waiting, that I didn't want my haircut by someone with her seemingly inconsiderate style. So as I was called in and was getting my haircut, the first lady whom I had declined, was finishing up with her guy. She passed by the lady cutting my hair and commented that she was going to take a break and would return in a bit. Now from what I had observed, the First Lady, (now known as Brooke) took a break while I sat and waited and now announced to my lady, (now known as Naome) that she was going on another break; The first break while I sat and waited and now the second time while 3 people sat in the waiting room and waited for her return. After asking a few questions of Naome, who was cutting my hair, I was told that Brooke is the local supervisor of the office. I expect on a Tuesday that a Great Clips isn't usually busy and that in consideration of waiting clients, that breaks could be adjusted as time allows. Additionally, I don't think California labor codes require barbers to take a 15 minute break after each client; especially while clients continue to wait in the lobby. If this is the leadership, (Brooke) acting in this manner, then I expect I will need to find another place to do business with. I've gone to Great Clips for many years and generally have been very happy with the gals. However, if you want consideration, you may want to look elsewhere. read more

If you need a quality ordecent buzz cut... DO NOT go here. I've been here 3 times thinking each time it would be better than the last but I was proven wrong today. I never leave negative reviews complaining about a restaurant or particular store but I see this as a public service announcement to let others know about my experience here at this particular Great Clips. My first two times here, I was rushed through the door given a botched haircut which made me look completely ridiculous. I only was made aware a few days later by a family member both times. And the third/last time, my stylist ripped almost every hair out of my head while desperately trying to run her inadequate buzzer through my somewhat thick hair. It was excruciatingly painful even with somewhat of a high pain tolerance/insensitive scalp. I was absolutely shocked that someone would think this ok to do and I grimaced in pain waiting for her to finish. Honestly, I was surprised she didn't sense my anger and step back to check to see if I was ok and would like to continue. With that said. Maybe others might have better luck with more typical/basic hair but for someone wanting a decent or even good buzz cut, I would recommend you not come here because it likely that this location will not be able to satisfy you. You have to pay $5 to get your hair shampooed and they don't even have warm water. In addition, when they wash it they barely wash it. I have never had my hair shampooed by a professional that didn't put a little effort in lathering the hair. It's like she barely wanted to touch it. Totally disappointed and won't be back. read more

I checked in early in the morning and I was one of the first people to get their hair cut. I had four little boys so that's a lot of hair. We were seen quickly and they did an amazing job on all of my boys. I love that they open at 8:00 am on a Saturday. That's a mom's dream come true! The staff was so friendly too. Went yesterday (12/8/19), worst experience ever. The stylist was more interested in her social affairs and gabbing with co-workers rather than paying attention to what she was doing. The other stylists were also talking and joking and not paying attention to their customers. Customer service is dead at this location. My husband needed a haircut badly during these Covid times...the tv just announced beauty and barbershops could reopen with limited customers. My husband went to his regular barber who did not reopen so on his way home he saw Great Clips in Rancho Cucamonga was open. He did not have an appointment but put his name in anyway hoping for an opening. Within the hour he got in and had a great haircut.
