Went for a routine haircut yesterday with Alma, I get the same thing every time. Was completely normal aside from the garlic breath. The cut looked fine (I didn't inspect very closely just a quick glance). When I got home I looked in the mirror and noticed both sides in the back were not faded at all. It looks like she buzzed the sides then just gave up on the rest of that area. Felicia always did a good job cutting my hair but ever since she left my cuts have been leaving me wanting.. Edit: Went back in today Tori completely took care of it. She did a fantastic job fixing that nightmare of a haircut. I will be going back to her and only her and I recommend everyone else do the same. read more

This shop used to be pretty good. Now every time I go the stylists are different. They don't pay attention to their work, and I actually had to fix my last haircut myself! Last visit I went in 20 minutes before closing, as per instructions given on the app, and was told they were closed. Lost customer! Seeya! read more

Super fast and I love that they have a computer system that they track how I want my hair done. Personally not a fan of chains, but there are some real shining stars here. Sara and Erica are both phenomenal. They are hilarious and friendly. Not to mention they are both exceptional at their craft. I love the online checkin feature too. I hate making appointments for haircuts and the online checkin feature lets me get in line as I drive there. No waiting like other walking and I don't have to remember my appointment. Would recommend anyone to use this location. I've had mixed service at other Great Clips but never here. First off I just wanted to say, I gotten a lot of compliments on my haircut today at work and it made me really happy. This is my normal haircut so it's nothing new to me but compliments always make your day feel a little better. With that being said, yesterday (Tuesday 4/10/18) I got my haircut at my usual spot: Great Clips right off of N Mccarran (Located in Canyon Center). Even after moving, I refuse to go to anywhere else or I should say let anyone else cut my hair. There's a hair stylist there named Misty and she's just awesome. She's great to have conversations with and she does a great and efficient job. She knows what I need regardless how wild my hair is. My visits are only 15-20min max. For a $15 (+tip) quality haircut, I can't complain! read more

We brought my two year old son in for a haircut earlier today. He does not love getting his haircut in general and he was past nap time so he was especially cranky. He cried and fought through the whole process even while sitting on my lap and his mom trying to help. I just wanted to say that Ashly did a great job. She kept her cool and was nothing but sweet to him no matter how loud he shrieked. If you have a little one I highly recommend taking them to Ashly. She needs to work on her listening skills, talk less with other hairdressers, focus on her job, and not retort to the customer when the customer tries to tell her something. I usually go to this location to get my son a haircut and he usually cries but the hairdressers are always patient and he's able to get his haircut. However this time I got MIKALA and she was rude from the start and impatient my son is two and she was complaining about how he doesn't put his head dow n and only waited about two min after she said she wouldn't cut his hair. They promote cutting kids hair maybe they need to teach their hair stylists some patience. read more

several years I have been going to the Great Clips @ 4809 Kietze Ln ste D in Reno. I was argued with by a woman behind the counter for not checking in online, when I did. Then a stylist waived a piece of paper in my face arguing the haircut I want wasn't my last haircut, then she claimed she wasn't licensed to cut hair. A different stylist stated she would be willing to give me a haircut, but I would have to wait and check in online again. My recommendation to everyone is, stay away from the above given address. Unless you enjoy arguing with unlicensed, entitled employees who want to cut your hair they way they want not the way you want. I'll never go back to any Great Clips again, and I recommend the same to everyone. read more

I am extremely upset by the way I was treated at Great Clips in Northwest Reno today. I asked my daughter to drive me there because I moved to south Reno and I am having trouble walking. When I left my home the app said 90 minutes so we went to do other errands and when we got to GC the wait was 30 minutes per the receptionist who I informed that I always have my hair cut by Becky. So 45 minutes later Becky finally finished her client and it was my turn. There was other beauticians with no clients. Becky and another woman we're ordering pizza discussing mushrooms and places to buy pizza. My daughter was in the car waiting. Becky looked at me and said there's a person before you. After waiting almost 2 hours. The other woman could have taken the man but she was too busy ordering pizza. It's sad that after all this time Becky treated me this way. Im done! read more

Went to this Great Clips to get a simple bangs with tapered front haircut. My layers were already in place I just needed an inch off all my layers. As you can see by the picture The Stylist did not cut both fronts in a fringe cascading around my face one side my right side is perfect my left side has no definition whatsoever. UPDATE: Michelle the General Manager called me for a follow up. I explained why I was so upset with both haircuts. She offered to refund my money and asked me to come in so she could fix my hair. I was hesitant but decided to go in. Michelle did fix the problem. And I now have a short bob. The customer service was never in question and Michelle held up that same standard that they've always had. Which is excellent customer service. I'm still very upset that all my hair had to be cut off to fix the problem. But hair grows and at least I don't have a mullet. Thank you Michelle. ___________________________________________________________ Got my second hack job at this place. I do not recommend anyone go here. They used to hire high-quality Stylist. Now the hair anyone that can hold a pair of scissors. I went from shoulderlength hair to a fucking mullet. Spent the entire day crying my eyes out because of the hack job I received from two different stores yesterday. Never have I had such a horrible experience at a salon. I will never go back and neither will any of my family. I came in on a Saturday afternoon, and it was VERY busy. But it's to be expected around the time I went. I didn't check in online beforehand (would recommend to do so), but it's right next to a grocery store so I did a little shopping while I waited. Tori cut my hair and was very friendly! She kept good conversation the whole time. Haircut was just what I needed, just a simple trim to clean up my long hair. I'm always terrified because a lot of salons usually cut off way more than I want, but she kept it minimal and just trimmed enough to make my hair look healthier. I've come here for multiple haircuts. Depending on the stylist you get things can be hit or miss. Sometimes the stylists are friendly and full of lively conversation other times you can tell they're having a bad day and would like nothing better than to quit. I suppose we all have our bad days. I know with great clips, if you don't come in with a name it's like Russian roulette finding a stylist that is perfect for your hair type. I am so glad I got lucky this time and my stylist was Michelle. I'm growing a pixie out, so hair cuts are scary and not fun at all, but michelle had a pixie herself and explained why some ideas would be bad in the long term and came up with perfect alternatives. She shaved the front section of my left side and it looks AMAZING (as well as trimming the mullet). Just what I asked for! It looks playful and cute but doesn't mess with the growing-out too much. She greets everyone who walks in the door with a welcoming smile, very friendly, very knowledgable, very encouraging. This is a great stop in and go barber. I say barber, because my son and husband love it. For me- meh. It is very hit and miss. I perfer the traditional salon for myself. My roommate and I have both been going here for about 2 years now and have not had a negative experience to date, mostly due to the fantastic Michelle! She is always extremely welcoming and personable, and has never given a less than stellar haircut. One time last year I was getting a haircut from a stylist that was obviously very new and was totally butchering my haircut. Michelle took the time to come over and explain to the new stylist what she was doing wrong, and even took over and finished the job perfectly. I will continue to frequent this Great Clips for as long as Michelle is there! read more

Then when I got here in person the lady gave me a totally different time. Not only do none of their times match up, employees are inefficient and on breaks doing whatever working slow when they are behind. I've been going to this location since I moved to Reno 4 years ago and LOVE Trevor, but the last two times I've come here, it's been a disaster. I had a buzz cut that I'm now growing out, but had a stylist a few months ago argue with me about the length of the cut, which seemed silly when my hair was already clearly just a grown out buzz. That experience was not my favorite, but I was still willing to come back because she did end up giving me the cut I wanted, so no big deal! Maybe she was just looking out for me! Today, however, was a completely different experience. As I mentioned, I'm in the process of growing out a really short haircut, so all I wanted was to shave the sides and leave the top to grow out in an actual hairstyle instead of a fuzzy mess. I figured it would be no big deal, but the stylist I had today refused to shave the sides because doing that "makes it look too butch." I'm not overly feminine in the first place, so I was a little thrown off by the comment and felt really uncomfortable about advocating for the cut I wanted going forward. As she scissor cut the sides and back, she made conversation by asking what I did for new years and I responded that my girlfriend was in town and that we'd gone to dinner. She replied, "Oh, how long have you and your /boyfriend/ been together?" Normally I would chalk this up to mishearing and maybe that's what it was, but her tone was pointed and after the butch comment earlier, I didn't feel comfortable or safe correcting her, so I answered the question briefly and asked after her new years. She continued to ask about my relationship and use the wrong pronouns for my girlfriend, constantly mentioning "he" and "him." Again, maybe this was misunderstanding, but it was still a weird tone set throughout. Unfortunately, I don't think I can come back to this location as the experience left me really rattled and I didn't even get the cut I wanted out of it. Super disappointed. read more

Girl inside called my name and instead of waiting a second immediately skipped past me and took another person. Sad thing is I was standing right there. Tried to let her know but she ignored me.
