This review is long overdue! My family and I spent a few days in Temecula and when we were waiting for our hot air balloon company to depart, I saw the Great Harvest Bread Co. in the plaza. After our balloon ride, my carb loving self immediately headed over to Great Harvest to pick up some baked goods and sandwiches for lunch. OMG...the baked goods are super yummy (especially the cinnamon roll!) and the sandwiches are amazing too. The lady who worked the counter was super friendly as well. I went back the next day to try their apple bread. It was fresh from the over...warm and soft, and was it like eating an apple pie in a bread. I think I practically ate that whole loaf by myself. SO SO GOOD!! The baguette is crusty and delicious and so good when warm. Highly recommend if you are in the Temecula area!!!! read more

I read reviews about this bakery the last time we were in Temecula, but by the time we got there in the late afternoon most of the breads were gone. We went earlier this time and picked up a couple loaves of cinnamon burst bread, the Apple cinnamon swirl bread, and some shortbread cookies. My husband wanted a sandwich and ordered their steakhouse on sour dough. After mentioning that we'd split it, it arrived already cut on two separate dishes. How thoughtful! The sandwich was the best sandwich I've had in a long time. It had a generous portion of beef and was served on freshly toasted sour dough. I'll get my own the next time because my husband ate his half and much of mine. Service was really nice and the sample of the cinnamon burst that they let us try was good for business! I ended up getting another loaf for my freezer. I signed up for their rewards program and will get to enjoy a treat the next time we're in Temecula. Was in search for some fresh bread and this place was just that! The customer service was amazing, the lady behind the counter assisted in making my bread choices as I was looking for bread to aid in soothing a stomach ache and grabbing a sandwich. There were plenty of options and she explained everything so thoroughly that you could tell she was passionate about the business! This place is located in a bustling shopping center, and although it was busy , my friend and I both parked easily. We got there at 1pm on a Saturday and most baked goods were sold out. There were still enough for you not to leave disappointed but I definitely recommend coming earlier so you don't miss out. It's clean and comfortable inside and everyone working was nice and acknowledged us. We ordered sandwiches...mine was the Turkey Swiss on sourdough bread....it was DELICIOUS!! I ate the whole thing and quick lol. My friend got a breakfast sandwich. We ordered at the register and they brought our food out to us. They have seating inside but I'd say it's not really good for large groups. We sat, enjoyed our food and talked to catch up for 3hrs!! The time flew by and they let us chill there without any issues. The whole time we were there, there was a constant flow of customers but never got too busy, always seating open and no more than two groups in line at a time. Love this bakery! The bread is super fresh and there is a large variety to choose from. There is ample parking in the lot and service was great here. There is a little board of breads at the counter where you can ask to try the selections there. They also make sandwiches with their breads which I have heard that they're good. My favorite is the Kalamata olive Parmesan sourdough! There is a good amount of olives folded in the bread with melted Parmesan in it. The cinnamon roll is super good also! Im really disappointed with the experience I had here today. I ordered two Turkey Pesto sandwiches with no vegetables and balsamic on the side, plus a Caprese. Instead, I was given one Turkey Pesto and a Caprese. After pointing it out, I paid for the second sandwich, but when it was being made, I noticed the staff adding vegetables (which I had specifically requested to be left off). When I clarified again, the employees (Katie and Joshua) argued with me, insisted I hadn't ordered it that way (just like I didn't order 2 of the SAME sandwiches), and Katie flat out said, "I'm not remaking them." Rather she told me she would scrape everything off. This is especially upsetting because I have a tomato allergy, and rather than correcting the mistake, they dismissed me. I come here often, I've never been rude, and my order has never been wrong before. But today I felt completely disrespected as a customer, and more importantly, my allergy was ignored. After a quick search on Yelp, we discovered Great Harvest Bread Co since we like supporting small businesses and who can resist a great bakery, right? We noticed on their menu they have some baked items daily while other items are only on specific days of the week. We came here on a Friday morning and they normally have their daily goods baked warm and ready at 9am. We came at around 9:30 and it smelled amazing. // BAKED GOODS // Cinnamon Burst: A huge, round loaf with cinnamon chips in every bite. They recommend using it to make French toast which is exactly what we did when we got home. It's not too sweet and it's works well as French toast too so I would recommend that as well! Roasted Garlic Rosemary Sourdough: This is my first time having rosemary in my sourdough bread. It was good, but slightly overpowering. However, when you toast it up and top it with avocado or make a sandwich out of it then it was perfect. Some parts had huge chunks of the roasted garlic while other slices didn't have any pieces of garlic. Cinnamon Scone: I am not a fan of scones at all, but this was the best thing here! Normally, scones are too dry and are not the most flavorful things in the world, but this scone was topped with a slightly sweet cinnamon cream that was perfection! This paired so well with my cup of coffee. If I lived closer I'd be in trouble since I would literally come here everyday to get this!! I highly recommend trying this out! The next time I come here I will definitely try some of the other scones that they have. read more

We have loved this place for years and years. We ordered four sandwiches and cookies to go tonight (placed the order online) and when we went to pick it up it was still quite a wait. No biggie. It was at 5:20 and they seemed to be working hard to get it done. We got the food and went on our way. The order was as follows: California Cobb, add ham and sub cheddar. Overall they got the order right but if you're going to charge $3 for the ham maybe more than one slice would be more appropriate. Mostly underwhelming with almost no flavor. Smokehouse panini, add chicken, sub cheddar, no bacon on sourdough. Should be easy enough. They added chicken ($3) but took away the turkey. Why? Dunno. The sandwich was basically microwaved (which I did watch them do but was hoping it wasn't one of ours in the microwave) with a few pale "panini" markings. It was limp and soggy with a very strange spicy sauce. Overall one of the worst sandwiches I've ever had and couldn't eat. Smokehouse, prepared as described on sourdough. Again, seemed microwaved with a few pale lines to mimic a panini. The person this was for took two bites and said they couldn't eat it. "One of the worse sandwiches ever". Pesto turkey, as described on sourdough. She ate it but said it was not good but she was hungry. We ordered three cookies. They were M&M cookies that tasted like chalky flour and were not edible. All three were tossed in the trash. The chips were fine, but they didn't make those. We have frequented this place for well over a decade and have never experienced anything like this. It wasn't just not good, it was downright bad and inedible. We spent $70 on four sandwiches that mostly couldn't be eaten plus three cookies that were tossed in the trash. I'm not sure we can take the chance on this place again which is a damn shame. read more

Since everything is made in-house, we had hoped they would use cleaner, more natural ingredients. tried the blueberry cream cheese scone for a quick snack. Picked up their Alaskan sourdough and it was quite fluffy. It is not the rustic kind of loaf but is evenly soft and well-baked throughout. I made a quick tuna salad at home to go with it and it was really yummy. We also bought the roasted garlic rosemary one to try once we finish the Alaskan loaf. They have soup packs from this brand I've had gifted by family so I was excited to see them and bought a couple home!
