I bought a travel steam iron - Easy Steam at Great Mall for a $100 bucks. What a mistake. Although it worked well the first time I used, the remaining water was black when I was dumping the remainings. There is no way I will every use it again. You can't return it. I left a few voice mail messages to the company during their stated business hours and got only their answering machine with no call back. Great Mall is not my shopping destination of choice. It has gotten better over time though. They've recently added a lot of new stores, so if you're in the area, it might be worth it to just stop by to check it out. So i went to the great mall today with my sisters, walked into this store called "Q" i was going to look for an outfit for the funeral when leonidas decided he wanted to eat so i used a big sturdy table to rest his little but on so i can lift my shirt and pull out his booby without dropping him it was less than a 5 sec process. Keep in mind i was still holding him in one arm while fixing myself up to feed him right after he got hold of his boobie i reach my other arm off him and as im about to start walking around the woman comes to the register, i told her "im not ready i was just putting my son on my boob really quick" she then responded "right here?" I looked at her again and said "excuse me?" She again says "here? Really? Here?" At this point i am in shock! As a woman to another woman, as a mother, and as a customer.(might i add i was in a womens clothing store covered up with a blanket) in the end my last response was just " wow its ok i just wont shop here, never i will never shop here" i didnt know what to say almost wanting to cry and scream at her but since my son was eating i didnt want him to drink angry milk nor be yelling at someone while im feeding him. Every time I tried the food court of Great Mall, I regretted. Not only the food was trashy, the service was rude. It made me wonder whether the food court owners really hated their job. They were so grumpy, and seemed so unwilling to serve the customers. The food was not very fresh and the taste was bad. I ate there for convenience sometimes, and couldn't help but to regret afterwards for throwing away my $$ like that. read more

The vibe feels a little dirty inside. I used to come here during the holidays because I assumed this place was an outlet mall. Turns out- it's just like any other mall except extremely crowded, low lighting and really hot. My last experience actually threw me off because they had the mall on lockdown for a missing child. They had the mall microphone sirens on or something and customers were confused. Rumor was a kid was lost and they found that kid. I was pretty scared and worried. I'm glad the kid was found but that was a really frightening experience for me. I mean yeah, I'll come back here if needed, but the stores could use an upgrade. Way to much cell phone accessory competition! It's really annoying! You know? You walk around the mall seeing accessories but what about the main stores? Customers don't want to see hundreds of cell phone companies in one mall and I'm talking about in every corner, walk way, in front of stores, dining court etc... throw in a walk in store! There's nothing "GREAT" about this Great mall of the Bay. If this is suppose to be the Great mall of the Bay Area then I will stay put in Southern California and never shop in the bay area again. Some outlet shopping at this mall and it's prety large I suppose. But it's just blah blah blah. Nothing about it makes you want to go there ever again. They need better stores too! read more

I love shopping at the Great Mall. Yes, parking may suck & there are tons of people there. However, I love how there deals there daily for a variety of the stores. Best outlet mall I think. I love being able to get clothes cheaper here than I would at Valley Fair. There's a big Coach outlet here, too. I think there is something for everyone here :) read more

I am sufficiently impressed. I'm not a bargain shopper by any means. I have a cleaning lady. I lease my car. I take golf lessons regularly and buy new clubs when the old ones don't seem to hit the damn ball well enough (it MUST be the club!). so I'm not the typical bargain shopper. However, I do hate to pay for stuff that is over-priced and it's hard to argue that all designer clothes are not over-priced. As a matter of fact, aren't they over-priced BY DEFINITION? I mean, doesn't prada and Gucci define themselves by being expensive, as does Neiman Marcus, Christian Loubetain, Saks Fifth Avenue, Armani, etc.... ? yes, they do. That's why they are brands, because they are exclusive. and they are exclusive because they price out the masses. So yeah, they are overpriced. however, with a little walking and sifting and some luck, you can swing by here and pick up those same brands at a huge discount. hand made Italian suits that retail at Neiman for $3300.00 sit on the rack here for $1500 and are routinely marked 40-50% off that price so you're picking up the $3300 suit for about $800. $400 italian and Spanish shoes are here for half off or more. Now don't expect service, okay! None of that going on up in here... You had better know your suit size because there ain't gonna be no neiman marcus tailor rushing over to bow and measure you to tailor it for you. so take the suit that fits you and take it to your own tailor to have it trimmed. I think the saks and neiman shops are the anchors in this mall but there is a TON of brands all selling their stuff for at least 30% off. Don't expect selection either! if you are looking for something specific, then, well, you probably won't find it. Only come here if you need to stock up on shoes, suits, pants, dresses, whatever and you aren't going to be majorly picky. You just know the general type and brands you want and you will find something similar but probably not exactly what you're looking for but what you do find will be a snazzy brand, excellent quality and the prices will be more down to earth. you also won't find any of the truly high end stuff here. you aren't going to see any Loubetain's or Burberry wallets on the shelves here. Matter of fact: Watch out for the stores that offer too much of selection. Those are probably the types that ship merchandise specifically to their outlet stores that they don't carry in the main stores. Wow. This place didn't even feel like a mall or an outlet mall. It was like one big DMV. Ghetto fabulous. It's been quite a long time since I've seen people being arrested for shop lifting at a mall. As for the stores, none of them really appealed to me. I went for Banana Republic and H&M mostly and found nothing at all. Plus both stores were just a complete mess. This is my favorite mall because I am cheap AF. I usually go to Agaci, Windsor, Victoria Secret, Papaya and Forever 21 to get new clothes. I also like stopping by the Nike store for items on sale. I got some cute $35 nikes here! I also love going to DnBs to play games and grabbing some dranks especially during Happy Hour on Wednesdays. They even have a movie theater! read more

The name of this place is almost the exact opposite because it is anything but a great mall but it's okay in its own way. It's now known as an outlet mall and I am not a big fan of outlet mall especially one where it's the only one in my city. I use to actually like this place in like middle school and when it had a skate park but now I hate going there. "The great mall" is what it's called I think it should be called the a outlet lol . I come once in a while just re up on my bath and body work hand sanitizers and hand soaps . This mall is a big mal but most of the stores are more for the skinny petite people don't get me wrong I'm cool with them but I'm a thick person lol. So I could never find anything fitting here . I like old navy and ecko and the shoe stores . I just wish there was more hip hop wear stores here . I like the great mall. Been coming here forever and its only getting better and better. It's the most convenient mall to go to although parking is a hassle during busy hours. Not to mention that when it comes to the holidays, this place is packed. Whenever I want to go to dnbs, I come here. If pacific commons doesn't have the right showtime, then ill go to century theaters here. We went to the Dora Event yesterday for their "kids club" I was blown away!!! It was only $5 to join. Both of my kids went in and were treated like royalty. From the BEST face painter EVER to decorating quality backpacks that they got to take home...samples, raffles, photos with characters, rad crafts from The Children's Discovery Museum in SJ and top notch customer service from the staff of The Great Mall...this was a fantastic experience and we can't wait for the next one. I'd like to say THANK YOU for the hard work and making my kids so happy!!! read more

I don't know why most of the reviews weren't positive but what do you expect from an outlet mall? Obviously, because there are so many outlet stores IN the mall, it must mean that this mall is an outlet. I think that the stores are great, prices are great and the mall has a ton of variety and good parking spaces. They also have an Abercrombie and Hollister outlet for those who like them. There's only a few in Cali. Overall, it's great. The only downside is those weird ass stores that sell cheapy random things but you don't have to go in there. The bargains are exceptional and the food court is not bad. read more

Crowded, all the mall employees are RUDE, and wayyyyy too many (not so rich) loud teenys around hanging out. Convenient because it's right off of 880, the VTA lightrail, and next to a theater. However, the perfect close by mall to kill time. Usual teenager stores, I think the only stores I actually enjoy going into are Hot Topic and Claires. read more

Ahhhhhh. The Great Mall. It really is... well, kinda Great! I hate shopping, and I hate the Mall. Hell, sometimes I hate people when they are in Shopping Mall Mentality and I feel like I'm going to be killed in a stampede. But... Oh But, they have many charming little stores, a Dave & Busters and a Theater... ALL accessible from exterior doors. That's probably what I like the best. I can go directly to the main attractions without going through the maze that is the interior of the mall. However, if my girl is with me, we can walk through the interior and she can exchange my money for ass loads of random products. It works out pretty well. read more

It just recently became one of my favorite shopping malls. I remember I use to hate this mall just because I never find anything at this mall! It was always soo frckin packed and leavin unsatisfied. But now a days that ive been shopping here a lot. I find a lot of stuff I like. I will always spend a lot at this mall. They have like the biggest parking lot ever. We always find parking =). What sucks is that. If we're tired while we're in the middle of the mall, it takes forever to walk back to the car. AND i remember i was really hungry one night while i was shopping. For an outlet mall, this place is not as bad as I make it out to be. It may be because I grew up with this mall being so close and it being a place that I always went to... so naturally I would get sick of it... and with Valley Fair 10-15 minutes away... its hard to compete with a full fledged high end mall... but I shouldn't put them in the same category... after all... as I mentioned... this is an outlet mall. Its a decent shopping experience, for the most part. Although, there is something about the way that it's set-up... the ceilings maybe? or maybe its the ventilation...? I don't know what it is exactly, but I feel claustraphobic in this place after a little while... and I feel like sometimes there isn't enough breathing air to go around... and sometimes... as many times as I go there... I still don't know where exactly everything is... the setup makes everything almost look the same... but then again... I might just be a little "special." The crowd... very diverse... considering it is Milpitas... when the school year rolls around though, you get kids who think they're cool walking around with their back-packs on staring you down as if you were diseased or something... its sometimes fun to stare them straight in the eye and remind them they don't own the place... but they'll grow up soon enough... hopefully...
