I will never use another towing service, and this is why. Recently, my wife and I, both on SSDI, bought a new 5th wheel trailer to replace the one we had that now had seen far better days. We hired another person to get the old one out of the way, deposit it across the street for recycling, and bring the other one over and set it up for us. The person we hired, not only botched up the removal of the old trailer, but literally got it hung up on an 90 year old cedar! She then, had it half stuck out onto the road, and was going to leave it there. and maybe find a solution for it in the morning, leaving my wife and I with no place to spend the night. That was when our neighbor, Jay, offered to contact Great Northwest Towing to get us out of the horrible mess this women put us in. It was well after 6:00 PM when Jay called his co-worker Ken, both employees of this great business. ken showed up, assessed the situation, Jay and him discussed how to now clean up someone else's mess, and move a now torn up 5th wheel with the slide stuck in the out position, as it's motor had frozen up with age. Now, I can not describe what Ken did, but it was nothing short of amazing, safe, clean, and totally professional! He moved the old one out with the stealth of true expert, and neatly brought the new one over, helped us get it set, and by then it was midnight! I was not only amazed with the process, but the cost for all that was more then fair, and was able to express our appreciation with a good tip that was well deserved. Ken's understanding of the situation and seeing the state of concern that we were in, assured us that this would all end up being okay, and the stuff of good stories, and he was right. Great Northwest Towing, Ken, and Jay are hero's to us, and literally saved the day! As I said, if I ever need a towing service, I will call no other. I carry the card in my wallet. it's good to see that in this day and age, ethics, compassion, and simple "take pride in what you do" old professionalism still exists and it's right here in the Olympia-Tumwater area! Reckless aggressive driver. Last night one of your aggro drivers with the license plate C41222P towing a Dodge refused to let my vehicle merge into slow-moving traffic onto the highway almost forcing me off the road with my wife and elderly mother in the car. This is really dangerous and aggressive and completely unprofessional for someone who drives for a living. read more

After politely waiting, I received a phone call from a female on shift letting me know that I would have to contact my insurance company because she had been on hold for twenty minutes and didn't want to wait anymore after stating that she had no personnel available after she had already dispatched the request and confirmed with USAA that their company would take care of it. Without attitude, I kindly asked her why I would need to call my own insurance company if she made the mistake of confirming and dispatching without checking the availability of her equipment, especially if she was on hold already. She then got extremely irritated and her attitude was very hostile.... maybe it was a long night for her since it's 11 PM? She then proceeded to say "Well we aren't able to complete the service at this time and you would have to wait if you don't want to call yourself" in return I replied "well I am sitting in my room watching movies, so it's not an issue for me to wait... I'm not outside or anything waiting for someone to get my keys, I'm warm inside and will wait" which for whatever reason made her extremely frustrated and she ended up very rudely telling me to call USAA back myself and that Great Northwest Towing wouldn't be completing the service and then hung up. USAA kindly notified me that it is part of the dispatchers job to call back and confirm themselves should they not be able to meet a request afterall, and should she have just given me a kind and valid answer; or perhaps treating a customer with respect, I would have had no problem finishing her job for her. It's just astounding, should I have been in a lesser situation, say waiting outside already for service when it's 28 degrees outside and that's how someone handles a situation for you? After stopping in Olympia on our way up to Seattle we noticed some smoke coming out of our engine. A passerby noted things didn't look good, he thought it might be a water pump and suggested we not drive on it. We couldn't find a repair shop that was open so decided to have the car towed (and essentially my mom and I as well!) up to Seattle. Marc from Great Northwest Towing saved the day. He was extremely friendly and turned a situation that wasn't looking good into a positive experience. Not what we had planned, however it couldn't have gone any smoother once Marc entered the scene.
