Magiquest on the 3rd floor

My kids had a blast. They are 8 and 10 sonprobably the perfect age. I can't imagine theyd like it as much when theyre a little older becaise the slides werent super thrilling but they took advantage of every aspect of the resort which is not cheap. They were out of a lot of drinks and the room wasnt the cleanest. We later learned it had recently flooded though. The service was mostly fantastic. These are the friendliest lifeguards weve ever seen.

Lazy River

Still one of the most perfect places to take small kids too if they enjoy the water. We've been to the one in the Chicago area so we were excited to try this one. I still stand by what I say when it comes to bringing your own snacks/food and take advantage of the nearby restaurants and/or grocery stores. Some advantages or disadvantages, depending on the age group you're traveling with. The Chicago location has a smaller young kid area whereas this one is much bigger and a little more to do. The wave pool and lazy river in Chicago is much bigger than this location. Since they provide life jackets, my kids have really enjoyed all that is offered and that they're able to do. My kids didn't play golf or arcade games because they just wanted to swim but both looked really cool. A few food places and ice cream shop inside the resort and a Build-A-Bear. Due to the weather, didn't get a chance to experience the outside pool but I know we'll make it back.

Hair and grim in the bathtub (zoom in)

We got day passes at the Great Wolf Lodge last year and had a wonderful time. Based on that experience, we decided to get a room for a few nights for my son's birthday. Overall, the entire experience was miserable. When we got to our room, we discovered a hair covered bathtub and a floor littered with nerd candy that my young son was more than delighted to eat. Once night came, we all went to bed. There were older kids running up and down the hallways banging on doors (including ours) throughout the night. None of us slept well. We all got up tired but excited to go down to the water park. Overall, the waterpark was...okay. The water seems a lot colder than last year (even though we went at the same time of year), we had to remind the towel check in guy to scan our bands so that we didn't get charged for towels, and even though we were there during the week at 10:30am, it was still nearly impossible to find two chairs together. The place was packed. We stayed in the waterpark for a few hours but eventually went back to our room to warm up. All of the hotels other activities are expensive addons and the food is expensive as well. The overall experience is very predatory. Every time you turn around there is another money grab. They charge $20 a night for parking and hold $100 PER night that you stay as an incidental hold fee, so be prepared for that. We decided as a family that we did not want to stay another day / night, so we ended up forfeiting our money and heading home an entire day early. Before checking out, I stopped by the gift shop to grab a small toy for my son. Most of toys were lacking price tags. I grabbed a plushie that I knew my son would like (and that had a price tag on it) and went up to pay. They tried to charge me $16 when the tag price said $12. I pointed it out and had to wait 10 minutes for a manager to come correct the price. The best part... I chose to check out at the front desk instead of the AI service, so that I could talk to an actual person. I wanted to explain why we were leaving a day early. No apologize for the dirty room...nothing, I was told that I should have contacted a care member if I wanted it fixed and that they couldn't do anything about it now and that they would get me checked out. We left and drove home. Later that night, we started receiving emails about extending our stay. After being on the phone for a while and talking to several people, I figured out that the person at the check out desk never actually checked us out. I would love to know what extra charges would have incurred had I not figured that one out. Will not be staying there again. Have never felt the need to waste my money by leaving a hotel early. I just feel bad that I wasn't able to give my son the birthday that we had planned on it being.

Brought grand kids here for a weekend getaway. Kids had a great time and didn't want to leave. Pizza was pretty good. Buffett for dinner was mediocre. Breakfast buffet was really good every day we were there. Place is very large and has a hard time finding things at first. Place is definitely a money pit and kids will want everything there and will make you go broke. Room was clean and nice. Waterpark was good. Kids only played in wave pool and lily pad pool area. Kids got cold so we got in hot tub. Very very crowded. Kids got the MagiQuest wand and game and they really enjoyed it but a little tough for them to understand how to play and where to find things.

This is a nice place to visit your family. It's right off the highway and about 15 minutes away from other restaurants and Walmart. The rooms were a little dated. The food was pricey. It gives off a resort vibe. There are TONS of things for the kids to do and enjoy. I would suggest having a policy in place for seating. All of the seats were taken in the pool area. We sat there for hours, and no one came to claim the seats. It should be a 2-seat maximum per family, and if you're in the pool for an extended time, you shouldn't be able to hog seats. We watched people get frustrated and not be able to enjoy the pool due to no seating. We got caught in the middle of a tornado, so we had to evacuate to the first floor. That was an experience. Everyone was super nice and helpful.

Went for a weekend getaway with my partner and enjoyed every second of it ! I had a discount from work, otherwise I may not have found the price of the actual stay worth it. There are obviously a lot of attractions for kids, but were kids at heart and found a lot of ways to have fun ! Our room had a whirlpool tub which would have been great, but our jets didn't want to come on. The bed was super comfy though ! And the room was the most spacious room I've ever booked. All of the food we had was amazing. We went to the restaurant for dinner one night. The food there did seem a tad overpriced, but it was good. Nothing weren't not used to coming from Bloomington, IN. The buffets both had a lot of options. This may seem overpriced if you don't eat your moneys worth. The pizza place was really good. And all of the drinks were fun ! The staff was excellent ! Everyone was super friendly and conversational. A lot of the workers looked like they really loved their job. The only thing I can say there is, I wish some of them would have spoken up. A lot of people tended to whisper which I could understand in a pretty loud environment. My only complaints would be (besides the whirlpool not working): I wish there was an easier way to find a map of the place. Once we found our way around it wasn't so bad, but at first we were very lost. And at check-in, they connected my card to my wristband which I thought was great so I didn't have to bring my card everywhere. However, I found that didn't work for most of the card readers. I had to go back to my room any time I wanted to add tokens to my card in the arcade. Everywhere else let you charge your room which was great. I would definitely come back ! Perhaps next time I'll time it to when kings island is open. Tips: bring your own snacks/drinks/lunch/watershoes if possible ! It made the trip a lot less costly.

We've been coming here for years and have always dealt with amazing employees. The convenience of having a waterpark, restaurants, and an arcade is pretty nice. We even spent a fair amount of time playing MagiQuest throughout the hotel, too. The main problem with staying here is the exuberant price. We brought our own drinks and food to save money this time. For dinner we left the property and ordered take-out from a restaurant in the area. They've also started charging people for parking on the property. The Dunkin location isn't connected to the mobile app due to them having their own inflated prices. While I enjoyed our time, the prices and high occupancy make me hesitant to return. The rooms aren't fantastic so know you'll probably spend most of your time outside of them. There's little space and they aren't always cleaned properly.

This place is ridiculously expensive and doesn't look like the pics on the website. Not worth it and I hate that I wasted so much money!

Ask the Community - Great Wolf Lodge

Dunkin' Donuts , Is the food the same price as it is outside of great wolf?

No, it's slightly more expensive, but nothing crazy.

I recently booked a stay for an upcoming weekend but was warned about possible bed bugs. Has anyone who has stayed recently seen any? I definitely don't want to go if that's a good possibility.

Our room was clean when we went

Is it worth $6 to upgrade to a room close to the water park? Are the rooms louder due to being more crowded?

It's worth every penny. I didn't notice any excessive noise and we were very close. But keep in mind it's kid oriented so if there are people above you you'll hear them regardless of location.… Read more

My experience of this park keeps on getting better and we ended up this time going on the busiest days like Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I went one day on a Thursday, but that is when we landed. We usually tend to get here an hour and 15 minutes early as they open the gates right at 9:00am. I recommend going to the not self serve parking as for some reason my phone did not scan to open the gate and it is easier for the person to scan the phone. If you are having trouble someone will come and scan for you. For Gold and Prestige members we got to into the park 30 minutes early and they opened up Diamondback, the updated Phantom Theatre and Great Pumpkin Coaster. If you have a regular ticket, you can explore the shops or wait at your favorite ride. I like the Peanuts characters are in one showplace too so you can go visit them. Here are the places I ate at as I have the meal pass: 1. Sports Bar - sit down place, food takes awhile to get, but you are relaxing at a table, while they come and give you your food. This place gets crowded 2. Mexican Place - not too bad, guacamole is extra however 3. Paris French - had the shrimp sandwich, but the chips were salty, bread has on the hard side 4. BBQ - I did not try it, but the meat looked really dry 5. Tom Chee - this place is good, but only if you like greasy sandwiches. Very filling for sure I recommend getting the blue ice cream and the red soda only available on selection locations. I tend to have at least one cup and ice cream per visit I did not buy too much merchandise this time around, but I like the Snoopy Store to visit. Shows For some reason, they do not do any Peanuts shows anymore. We watched Brad Ross, illusionist and he was fun to watch and a 50 minute show. We watched his show 4 times, but sometimes it was a way to escape the heat and take a nap and figure out how he did some of the tricks. Seating is comfortable. They do have live entertainment like dancers or singers in some areas. They do have the wine festival, but we did not buy a card since we have a meal plan. Rides (I rode the following) and here are my thoughts this time around as they might be different since the last review 1. Banshee - gotton rougher over the years and the vest restraints got tighter on me 2. Drop Zone - this ride worked on the last 2 days, show operations, but recommend to ride once 3. Congo Falls - sometimes this operates on certain days, but fun to get soaked 4. Bat - an okay ride, only ride it if the line is short 5. White Water Canyon - you will get soaked by the geyers, this ride opens from 12 to 9pm 6. Charlie Brown Rushing River - Fun log ride, line moves slow, I wish they would open both lanes. 7. Snoopy Soap Box Racers - fun kids ride 8. Woodstock Twirly Birds Ride - I always have fun being in the helicopter, ride is too short though 9. Mystic Timbers - fun wooden ride, lines are not long on this one 10. Diamondback - this line tends to get long for some reason and can be longer than Orion 11. the Beast - we like doing a day time ride which line is very short and night time ride line gets long. They do shut the ride down at 9:30pm for the fireworks show and reopen at 10:20pm. My wife and I sometimes do not get out of the park until 11:30pm. Night ride is definitely worth it. The ride has definitely gotton smoother 12. Orion - definitely one of my favorite rides - I wish they had more shade on the line queue, but lines do move quickly 13. Red Racer/Blue Racer - I prefer the red racer more smoother compared to the blue 14. Windseeker - slow operations on this one, but the line is not long, but a great view of the park 15. Adventure Express - pretty neat ride for visual, but rough riding it 16. Woodstock Air Flyers - this ride tends to get longer, but I find it a little on a shaky side 17. Antique Cars - we like going on this ride. Line might look long, but it ends up being around 20 minutes Rides I did not go on this trip but wanted to Flight of Fear - some reason this line got the longest and I do not know why, but definitely not worth waiting for 40 minutes. I think I rode this ride a bunch when it was raining and all of the other rides were closed. Overall a great time and have a fun time at this park.

I'm talking about having to take my time to make reservations online or had to go back 3 times to reschedule reservations due to rain being on my chosen days, which match to my off days from work. The main reason I bought the pass is because my home town no longer has a swim club and I enjoy being poolside on my very sparse off time from my job. (I average 126 hours at work weekly). Looks like it's going to happen again on my next scheduled day off to rain and have a reservation for the water park. I could be going other days off when it's sun shine clear skies but no, you can't go to water park if you didn't schedule a reservation even checking if other people who did have reservations. but decided not to go, you would think KI management release some spots for ins, and the app only lets you schedule two dates at a time. I will never get another pass. What I don't get about the need for reservations needed only at the water park besides it's a huge damn inconvenience is it's freaking outside, even in the deadliest months of the pandemic we were permitted to be outside exercising keeping the 6 feet apart!!! If you want to have workers monitoring the indoor shops at the water park that would be fine instead of this. So why the hell are you putting us through this Kings Island Management and since these reservations rules for this season, I feel duped by you for not making this stupid inconvenient reservations rule more pronounced before passes could be purchased online. Yes, I saw a reservations button in the website when I purchased my gold pass this season but I naturally thought it pertained to groups trying to by tickets not individuals, as far as I knew I could go to the water park when I wanted like all previous years I had passes and you had water parks. Never Again! deeply disappointed and often put out.
