This is my new favorite greek place! The food here is incredibly fresh and they serve very large portions. It's usually quite expensive to get a large greek salad with gyro meat, but at Greek Garden it is enough for two meals making it that much better. I highly recommend it! read more

Staff was very friendly and the prices were not bad. However the food was really nothing special. The gyros and souvlaki were just standard. Decor is dated and unfortunately there are so many different locations in Babylon to eat that would be a better choice for dinner. read more

The food was uneatable. We order appetizers, soup and meals and I literally couldn't take more than one bite of anything. The restaurant itself is run down and very shabby looking. Gotten takeout from them a few time. Gyros are great and always hot, and if you call in the order it's always ready when I get there. Food is pretty good. Greek salad is great so is the spanakopita. Have had souvlaki and gyros as well. Food is pretty good....BUT why the 4/5.... All 3 times I have placed take out orders they have forgotten stuff. The first time I didn't check and they forgot a meal the second time I did check all was there- it was labeled wrong and was missing that item, third time was checked but realized they gave NO SAUCE for 3 entrees. Anyhow food is worth it but next time I'm taking everything out on the counter and triple checking. read more

This is my favorite place to go for great fresh salad and soups..the stuffed salmon dinner is as good as I've had in fancy NY restaurants and my friend waits for the nights Baked chicken and roasted potatoes is on the menu ...what makes the place even more special is the personal and friendly service.. I am a huge fan of gyros and Greek food in general. Yet sometimes some of the place I have dined at did not reach my expectation of great Greek food. Though the Greek Garden in Babylon NY, surely did not disappoint. This place was great! I had a chicken gyro and my boyfriend had the traditional lamb gyro and a Greek salad on the side. The food was very authentic , even their olive oil was imported from Greece. The price are fairly cheap for the quality of the food you are getting , so that was a plus in my book. The only criticism I can give the place is that it is a bit small, other than that awesome place. read more

The best damn Gyro in Babylon hands down. Get it with the fantastic, fresh herb Greek Salad and a cup of their delicious homemade soups. Split pea is the best I've ever had anywhere. We've been coming here for years and their food is always fresh, delicious and consistent. I ask for extra sliced onions to compliment their perfectly seasoned food. It's a friendly, family-run place that makes you feel welcome and they'll have you coming back week after week. Bring cash, they don't accept credit cards. read more

I will NEVER go back again! With a party of five others, we went there to celebrate a member's birthday. The waitress offered to give a coloring book to the young child but it never came even after reminding the waitress. When the salads were served the birthday girl did not receive hers, again, after reminding her.. When the dinners came the birthday girl received her salad but she did not get her meal! Time went by - 15 minutes plus - without her being served. The waitress was stopped, as she walked to another table, to ask where b/day girl's meal was. She condescendingly replied they had run of that specific food - not asking if she wanted something else. It was a horrible and embarrassing experience since this was to be a special occasion. We will never ever go back there again! Even though their ad says they take credit cards, they really don't. So take cash. Better yet, go elsewhere. read more

My husband and I just moved to the Babylon area. We love Greek food and read some really good reviews about The Greek Garden. Our first visit was relatively fine. The food was fair and in generous portions, but the tzatziki was basically plain Greek yogurt with a few cucumber and tomato slices on top, with one olive and what looked like paprika.Still tasty, and we felt at home there. We were given free wine with our meal, and were treated kindly and welcomed. Our second visit we brought my mother along. Since it was before 4 pm, the wine wasn't free, but they made an exception. Food was good, but they seemed to be understaffed, so service was slow. Sill, good food, a warm welcome, and feeling like we could certainly become ''regulars''. Our third visit was a birthday celebration for a very close friend. My mother was with us as well. We also had a 2 year old with us, and could tell by the facial expressions of the staff that they were not pleased that we had brought a child. This is a brightly lit, rustic restaurant, almost like a local diner, not a candle-lit romantic restaurant. We thought it would be family friendly. The service was lacking and when present, quite frankly, rude. Even though I had ordered the same entree at all three visits, suddenly wine did not accompany my meal. In fact, beverages were delivered to our party in two's...and with big gaps of times between. Why not use a tray to carry beverages? We were at one point told by our server that the soda machine was broken. Broken?? Then offer something else...don't wait for someone to ask what happened to their drink. The worst part was when the only person at the table without an entree was the "birthday girl". After a long wait, my friend asked about her food, and she was told that they ran out of it, and in a very rude manner. At that point, she was so upset, as was I. The surly waitress offered her something else, but my friend declined, citing that she had lost her appetite. I lost my appetite as well, and had my entire dinner wrapped, as did others at the table. The waitress, made a point of telling us that we wouldn't be charged for the non-existent entree (wow...free nothing?? If there was no food, how is not charging us for nothing a remedy??) She didn't charge us for a couple of sodas though. And oh, by the way "we don't take credit cards". Well, that's a shame. There is no sign any where in the restaurant that states this. We barely had enough cash among us to pay the bill, and we didn't have enough for a tip. I do have a tip for this waitress though: please re-think how you treat people. Treat people as you would like to be treated. If that doesn't work, it's time to not work with people. Such a shame. They seemed friendly to start, and we felt like we had found a place we'd dine often. We liked it so much we brought friends...and special enough to celebrate someone's birthday there. Instead of kindness and good will, sadly they have several people who would tell others to avoid The Greek Garden at all costs. read more

I have been looking for a new Greek restaurant the last couple of months do to the poor service Ive been having at my regular spot. The food is okay not the worst but certainly not the best. I should have known when i had a very rude women answer the phone that i should have hung up and called another restaurant. I had simply asked if I could have my gyro with the pita bread on the side (i was taking it to go and did not want the pita soggy) the women made it seem like I was asking some outrages request! I had also ordered a few other things as well. Once i picked it up I handed the lady my credit card she looked at me like i had five heads and said "Ohhh we don't take that." (like credit cards are some new thing that people don't use everyday)...no sign anywhere in the restaurant or on the menu saying they don't accept credits. When i had to run back to my car to get money the women asked if i was coming back...really lady? If you have to ask that question maybe you guys should get a credit card machine! Anyway if you plan on eating here, not that i recommend it, make sure you bring cash!!!! read more

We tried this place for the first time last week. We where told by friends it was great Greek food . But I was also told that it changed hands not too long ago , no matter as the food was un-eatable ! We ordered Saganki , it was so over cooked you could not bit into it ! ( thay microwaved it to heat it up, I am sure . It the garbage it went ! My wife had a chicken dish with a Greek salad , the chicken was so over cooked , you just could bit into the chicken , in the garbage it went . I had a pork dish that was eatable of all the food we received there only the pork was eatable everything else was discarded . If they are new owners they better get there act together . On Saturday, June 9, 2012, at 6:30pm, my husband and exchange student from Germany took me out for an early birthday dinner. As a regular patron of your restaurant, I suggest Greek. We were greeted, seated by and waited on by the female owner. Upon taking my order for the Seafood Combo Platter, I was informed the restaurant did not have any shrimp. The owner said I would be given more scallops instead. I complied. I then asked for anchovies on my Greek salad and was told it would be extra. I declined them thinking what Greek restaurant doesn't complement a Greek salad with anchovies? I was then informed I was entitled to a complimentary glass of wine. Knowing our wait person was the owner, with the authority to make expectations to please a customer, I asked if I may please have the anchovies instead of the wine. She immediately replied, "No! If I give them to you, then I would have to do for all." Who was all? Aside from another table, there was no one in our section. It didn't make sense since both wine and anchovies cost money. I asked, "What if I were pregnant or a recovering alcoholic?" It didn't matter to her. Then is a condescending manner, she proceeded to give me, an educator for 14 years, a vocabulary lesson on what COMPLIMENTARY means. What owner treats a returning customer with such disrespect over a couple of anchovies? I should have left the restaurant at that point. Where in the past, I would have recommended your restaurant and bought gift certificates for others, I will now recommend the other Greek restaurants we love: OPA Grille in Bethpage, and Greek Village in Commack. In those restaurants, the anchovies smell better than the owner's customer service. read more

My husband and I love to go to this restaurant. I always order the Grilled Salmon over Greek Salad. My husband likes the Lamb Shank with Orzo, when its on the menu. Otherwise, he likes the Gyro Platter or Baked Chicken dish. We also go there with our grandchildren. They love the Burger Platter. We find the owners to be very friendly and accomodating. read more

My husband, son and I love the Greek Garden. The Gyros, Greek Salads, the Chicken and Seafood dishes etc. are delicious. In addition to the fresh and consistently good food, we truly appreciate the welcoming "at home" atmosphere. Roseanne our waitress, also the owner went out of her way to be accommodating in every way. We didn't have enough cash and they don't take credit cards so she told us to take our food enjoy and come back to pay when we're in the area. Also, I would like to add how kind Roseanne is to the kids who come in for lunch from Babylon HS, Senior citizens and the challenged. Good food is an important ingredient in a good review, but the intangibles also play a big part. read more
