The family wanted something refreshing and healthy. There is a Hainan restaurant back home that has the best steamed chicken. We found Chick Corner Thai Kitchen where they serve various Hainan chicken dishes in addition to pho so we decided to give them a try. We bought three dishes: beef pho, steamed hainan chicken and fried hainan chicken. Starting from what we enjoyed the most, the fried chicken had good flavor (even without dipping), nice batter and crispy. The pho had good flavor and ingredients but it was very light in the beef. The Hainan steamed chicken was good but not as flavorful as Rooster and Rice (gold standard) in the Bay Area. Chick Corner is a quaint restaurant with a sweet staff serving good food. Try the yummy fried Hainan chicken, you won't be disappointed. We will try some of the other dishes on our next visit. read more

Hidden inside a tiny plaza in the Valley Village area this unassuming Thai restaurant is tucked away, almost hidden from view. As soon as we entered I was surprised at how small the restaurant was. Everything was very tight and compact. The service was extremely friendly fast and very attentive, however, for the price, I have to admit that the portions were incredibly small. Also, the food was served on these rather cheap paper plates, which I felt was tacky. I also got their Thai lemonade, which, although was tasty I was surprised to hear it was not made fresh. It was made from a powder bought from the store store. I feel like they could really elevate their food so much if they put in more effort and they need to make their portions larger to match the prices, they have set their food at. Flavor wise the food was good, but I was not left. Feeling impressed as I have tried other type places in the area that were much much better. read more

The Zabb Chicken Rice is insanely delicious. One of my favorite of all LA restaurant meals. Very crispy fried chicken pieces cooked in fish sauce and lime juice, served over jasmine rice with fresh cucumber slices and sliced red onion. To eat, I ordered the Pineapple Fried Rice, priced at $14.95. Overall, I thought the food was great in terms of both size and flavor. There was definitely more than enough to satisfy. That said, there really wasn't enough pineapple, chicken, or shrimp. It was mostly the fried rice. I would say this is a good option if you're in the area, but I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to try it. read more

This sweet little spot on Laurel Canyon Blvd that's whipping up seriously delicious food with a smile is not to be missed! We got the Hainan chicken rice, Pad Thai, and chicken dumplings. Pad Thai and dumplings were delish but the piece de resistance was the Hainan chicken rice which did NOT disappoint. So much depth of flavor in such a simple dish. I tried the pad see ew and my partner had the yellow curry at home, as we ordered for pickup. We both thought the food was good! And it was still hot by the time we started eating. As someone who frequents heng heng chicken in LA, its hard to beat their sauce. The brown sauce could use a bit sweetness and I wish they offered a spicy sauce as well like heng heng does. wow, i am so impressed i am not well versed in the thai options here in LA, but this place is really good. i got the hainan chicken which is deceptively tricky to make, since they really don't have it too much here in america, and i thought it was just amazing. super authentic, great flavor, wow, just so good we also tried the tom yum chicken wings here, which were also really good. this is obviously more of a creation of the restaurant rather than something found in thailand, but also really good. there are honestly a lot of things here on the menu that i would have loved to try, but it'll have to be next time read more
