The fact that I've been coming here for years is crazy :) it's def one of the best Chinese restaurants in the Valley! The food is beyond fresh and made to perfection. For my recent visit, I ordered the fried catfish, wonton soup, and pan fried noodles!! Everything was absolutely flavorful and good!!! I recommend those dishes for sure! They also give really good wonton chips complementary that is very good with sweet and sour sauce and spicy sauce!! It's really clean inside with lots of seating! And the customer service is amazing!! They only have valet parking for $14 which sucks but I rather pay that then get towed! -Marshay

Shrimp fried rice. Yummy factor? Skyrocket

Lets go straight to the food. 1. Veggie egg rolls. Pass. Pretty confident they are not made there. Which is fine. They had a garlic taste. A huge yuck. And did I mention that you have to squint to see what veggies are in there? 2. Shrimp in bblack bean sauce. Not your typical appearance at other places. Big size shrimp, nice flavored sauce. Win in sin err sherman oaks city. 3. Shrimp fried rice. Had the standard veggies in there peas included. The rice is not your common brown color. Didnt matter. Huge size Shrimp. That was the kicker. I used soy sauce with mine. You will have leftovers. Oh the lemonade is very good. Service is wonderful. Seating? Who cares.

Parking is street or valet at the time of this review it was 11 dollars. I have been told owner has changed as well as the menu. Food is still good. Food was not spicy even though we ordered it spicy. Kung Pow only had a few red peppers but lots of peanuts. I liked the black bean shrimp it had. Very good flavor. Beef and broccoli was an ok flavor but meat was tough. The Hot Sour soup needs more sour so ask for vinegar. Service was good. I would rate the food just fair. This has been a go to spot for years but it may of been an off night for the chef The interior is still very high end.

Took me a hot minute to find good, authentic Chinese food. It's a local hotspot for locals. The Pungent chicken is my go to.

The duck curry is dense and intense with Japanese yam, a combination I've never seen before (order the curry medium spicey+). the chicken satay appetizer is double the size of what you're used to, & done to perfection. Shrimp pineapple fried rice made the perfect sweet and spicy dish. The pad se ew was done to perfection.... and we topped it all off with an Ube brulee (not exactly brulé'd but silky smooth experience all the same). I finally made it, and well, no surprise, I am a fan. Parking Located on the corner of Magnolia and Whitsett Ave. There is plenty of street parking. But if your feeling a bit bold, there is a closed Rite Aid across the street that has a bunch of parking. Ambiance: For starters, this there is something about the decor, very classy yet casual somewhere you can have a quiet lunch and enjoy the day. I felt at home here and at ease. The staff were great on checking up on me every now and then and made sure I was well taken of. Food: There is a lot to talk about here. The name, for all accounts did not scream Thai Food, yet, I haven't had better Thai food and the area. I stopped in for lunch and they had a such a good Lunch selection and affordable ($20) that also includes a drink. I ordered the BBQ (due to macro restrictions) paired with a small salad and rice. Level with me, BBQ chicken is something I order really to test the waters and I can honestly say, one of the better BBQ chickens I have had. Though this review doesn't do Rustic Spoon much justice, I would highly recommend swinging by. I will, I would love to try some more traditional flavors such as the different curries and soups. Looking forward to the follow up!

My husband got the red curry and it was fun to compare the flavors. Both were absolutely delicious! Their brown rice is also some of my favorite, I don't know what it is. It just tastes more hearty than regular brown rice. We had the shitake satay appetizer and it was good, but not sure I would order it again. The vibe here is intimate and chill. We recently came here for a casual date night cause the ambiance is pretty cozy. It's also great for families! For not being vegan, I love their food so much. The veggies just taste so fresh and everything is so healthy. They can get busy so service can be slow at times, but the waitstaff is very nice. This is definitely the spot to take your veg friends if you are trying to impress them with plant based dining options in the Valley.

My son didn't make a reservation because it was a Wednesday night and he didn't think it would be crowded. But with 5 adults and a baby carriage, we had to wait for the right table because the somewhat small restaurant was full. We soon got a good spot and ordered the shrimp ceviche and the pan fried dumplings for appetizers. The ceviche was served on a bed of crispy noodles and it was refreshing and satisfying. The dumplings were crispy, not greasy, and flavorful. For dinner, we got 2 orders of japchae and 3 orders of bibimbap. With 2 Korean-born children and having visited the country, those are among our family's favorite dishes. And they did not disappoint. The japchae noodles were just right. They were not too firm and not too soft and well-seasoned. With a mixture of veggies, meat, mushrooms, eggs, and that delectable sauce, the bibimbap tickled and satiated the tastebuds. I told the server there was a birthday at the table and she brought out an excellent creme brulee with a candle in it. My husband and I didn't pay the bill. But the prices were reasonable with most of the entrees costing less than $20 each. We have four more days in town and may very well make another visit to indulge in that scrumptious food.

I happened to see a really glowing review and then realized the place had four stars. I had actually called them a few days ago to see if they had lunch specials and if I had missed them. The nice guy on the phone said they did have them but that they had ended at 3 PM (about an hour before I called). So tonight, I decided to make sure they were still open and find out if they had any dinner specials. They did, for only $20! I had called them right at 9 PM to make sure that the closing time of 9:30 PM listed in Yelp was correct and to ask them what time was last order. Last order was at nine, so I gave it to them on the phone. The reason it was in to-go packaging in my photo was because they mistakenly thought that I wasn't going to eat there. I had my usual benchmark dinner of pad kha prao khai (holy basil or mint leaves with chili and chicken). Absolutely top marks. They knocked my socks off. The quality was exceptional, the ingredients excellent, the recipes awesome, and the most greaseless tasty vegetable spring rolls I've had in years. Really impressive. The husband is the waiter/server/host and the wife is the cook. That's it. Except for "The Boss", lol. My guess is their daughter is about seven or eight years old, and very sharp (quite obviously pictured in their logo).
