    Galbi-Tang
    Sameh A.

Nice spot for a delicious galbi tang or other Korean / Vietnamese dishes. I don't usually go to fusion spots but gave this place a try because I was craving some good galbi tang. The dish was a bit small but very flavorful broth and I ordered extra meat so had plenty of short ribs to eat that were juicy and tender. They also give you a small amount of kimchi and a lot of rice. Overall good spot for a flavorful dish , service was good and food came out quick. I would recommend this spot. It's in a hidden area in the basement and has plenty of seating , shared with other restaurants.

Working in the Loop, reminded me of Manhattan, which means lunch options are often too expensive. Sometimes you just need some quick cheap eats, before going back to the desk. This was one option I found nearby. You will need to head to the basement for the food court. Food + Service: 4/5 The female cashier was super nice and friendly. I was stuck between 3 dishes and she helped lean to the beef pho. The dish was ready in less than 15mins, so fast! The broth, very simple, nothing to write home about, the meat present and tasty, and the sides (bean sprouts, basil, etc) fresh. I was very satisfied for the price and convenience. All in all, looking for a quick affordable bite close to the office, not a bad option. Is this the best pho, no, but definitely one of the most affordable ones I have had in a downtown area.

No-frills kind of spot, in the heart of the downtown area. But I'm really glad I stopped in. The broth wasn't incredibly deep but hearty. The portion was great for a lunch treat, and lots of rib eye thinly sliced. I really enjoyed the bowl, didn't even add the sprouts or cilantro provided. Perfect as is.

    Chicken bibimbap

Fast, delicious and healthy! The chicken bibimbap has a mild-moderate amount of spiciness which is great for those of us that don't have a super high spice tolerance. Extra red pepper sauce is available for those who want to kick it up a notch, though. All the vegetables were delicious- the sesame oil flavor really comes through. I think they should do a name rebrand to focus on Korean food because that's really what they excel at.

It's not bad for the price. There isn't a lot of good pho in the Loop. I think they do Korean food better. The bulgogi banh mi was massive and it was delicious. The pho tai's broth was a little lacking in other spices. It's in a hidden food court but there's enough seating. There's also a monitor on the side that you can order from if there's no one at the front. It may not be the best if you have mobility problems since there's a flight of stairs you need to go through. At the end, you put away the trash and bring the plates back to the counter.

This place is pretty hidden, in a underground tiny food hall - but it's a hidden gem! I loved it very much. They have Korean and Vietnamese food. I got a big bowl of Pho and was very happy. It comes with all the sauces (hoisin and sriracha), bean sprouts and thai basil. The broth is ver flavorful and tasty. Great place! Will be back for sure!

I tried the spicy tofu and ... not so much. There wasn't really much spice or seasoning to speak of.

Pho was very good. The Jap Chae was tasty, but the place was so hard to find that it almost wasn't worth the effort.

Good Asian food in Chicago. It's in a building's food court. Location is a bit hard to find but definitely a good choice.

I couldn't finish my food. The main ingredient of the bulgogi must have been salt as it was the only thing I could taste. Stay away!

Everything was so good and all the dishes coming out the kitchen peaked my interest. The pho was phenomenal from the noodles to the broth everything was so well balanced and sooooo good! I am thinking about my next visit already. The service and the decor was very nice and opening too! Very family friendly vibes as well. I would try a little of everything, I know for my next visit I'll be partaking in the salt and pepper lobster!

Well, it is kind of tucked away in a desolate area on Canal Street, but still. One of my good friends suggested we check this place out after hearing about it from a co-workers. The only thing I know about Vietnamese cuisine is pho (which for some insane reason, I've never had) and banh mi, which I tried (and loved) while visiting my fave cuz in the Bay. . I arrived early to this very large, beautifully decorated venue on a Tuesday night and was intrigued by the set-up. One side was all tables, the other side was tables and multiple gigantic screened tvs playing Family Feud and the World Cup games. Kinda crazy. I chose to sit on the big screen side while waiting for my date. He called to say he was running late and to get the order started. I had been waiting a bit, so i caught the eye of one of the workers, who came right over. He was so friendly and accommodating and answered all questions. I ordered the green Thai kumquat iced tea, spring rolls and the chicken wings he highly suggested. He rushed off to place the order. Moments later, a couple of distinguished gents walked in and sat at a huge round table cater-corner from me and soon thereafter the nice man who took my order sat down with them. I'm assuming he was the owner for obvious reasons. I gained more respect for this establishment because customer service goes a very long way with me and he obviously cared about that. Our server, a very friendly young lady, brought my drink out and I was surprised to see that it was served in what looked like a sippy cup, with a cartoon design on the lid. Kinda weird seeing as I am an adult, but it was a tasty beverage, nonetheless. My friend showed up as the spring rolls and chicken wings came out. We devoured both, which were delicious and then placed our orders. I went with lobster noodles and my friend got the beef tenderloin pho. Even though my entree presentation wasn't the best, it was a very tasty dish to both of us. The beef tenderloin pho was definitely the star of the show! The broth was fragrant and flavorful and the beef was tender beyond measure. I'm an avid ramen fan but this pho definitely had my attention and I can't wait to try more. Ocean Bar and Grill is such a cute, quirky place that caters to date night diners, groups and families. They were all in there that night and everyone seemed to be having a great time. I know I did. I'll definitely be taking my daughter when she comes home from her summer internship!

The interior is quite open and wooden, but still modern and airy. There's an open kitchen which I always enjoy. Service was solid too. I got some sort of pineapple cocktail which tasted very tropical and refreshing! For the food, we split the fried fish (fluke), the eggplant side, crab noodles and crab fried rice. The fish with the lettuce wraps was incredible. Definitely my favorite dish of the night and I would purge anybody to get it if they go there. It fell off the bone, super flavorful and no fishy aftertaste. The sauce with the lettuce wraps was also great! The noodles were forgettable tbh, but the fried rice had nice crab pieces. Overall, a very good spot for a more elevated dinner! It's just a bit expensive, but the portions were nice so I'll give them that.

The spring rolls came as a pair, both long. Everything was packaged well. Both dishes were very fresh with great flavor. The chicken cabbage salad was amazingly good, with the cabbage still having some crisp to it despite being mixed with the chicken and dressing. The flavor was a great combination of citrus and a gingery kick, and some fresh herbs on top made it even better. This place is definitely in our short list for delivery, and we look forward to checking it out in person someday.
