NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS IN 3 YEARS! Tonight we ordered dinner. The hot and sour soup tasted like cat pee (no pun intended) and the sesame chicken was WAY overcooked! Again.....NEVER had a problem. We called to give them a heads up and asked for a manager. The female? that answered the phone said she was the manager but wouldn't shut her lips long enough to listen to what we had to say. She continually talked over me telling me "you call all time and complain! You no order no more" and hung up? What? Sorry, NEVER CALLED TO COMPLAIN BEFORE! Called back and apparently got the owner who wanted to argue that he had eaten exactly the same thing we ordered and he didn't think there was anything wrong? He asked several times 'what wrong?' but as before with 'the manager ' wouldn't shut his mouth long enough to hear what we were saying. We weren't looking for a free meal or anything. We just wanted to let them know the food wasn't good compared to the several times we have ordered. To be hung up on by the so called manager and then the owner was completely unacceptable! First time at Green China! Staying overnight in St.Charles and read the reviews, decided to give it a go! 4 of us got 2 combos and a small special fried rice and it was plenty. We got generals & sweet n sour chicken and they were both really good! The fried rice that came with the combos was def in my top five of all time. I have to say that Im thankful to the yelp community for pointing us in the right direction! The people that work there were friendly and professional and the place is clean and well lit. This is by far THE BEST Chinese food in the St. Charles area. Lindenwood students are so lucky to be so close to this place. Green China has amazingly good food at killer prices. They also deliver to Lindenwood and the surrounding area. Although Green China's food is second to none in the Chinese sector, the best thing about this place is the people that work here. We love coming here and talking to the owner and employees. They are incredibly nice and I love the fact that I am supporting a small, local business by eating here! Ordered for delivery the guy got here late and expected a tip but when i didnt have it he mumbled "i guess i do this for free" when i told the restaurant manager she said he has a problem smiling to people and they will talk to him about it, so then i hang up from talking with her, checked my food and only recieved one things out of 3 that i ordered. I call back they said he swears he put the food in the bag but he will give me credit for the next time. Better yet after i called the first time i had to keep calling for at least 3 hours bc the phone was busy then it would tell me it was disconnected. So the "manager" was calling me a liar on the missing food because i didnt get the call to go through for those 3 hours. Will never order from them again! read more

Never Again! The food has been pretty bad the past two times I have ordered. Kept looking for something good each time as few Chinese food places delivery to my home. We ordered and waited over two hours and the food still didn't come. Called and requested a refund. They did provide the refund and said they would give a credit on next order. I've gotta admit its pretty average tasting for your local greasy Chinese eatery. I wouldn't say its fantastic or anything. Quick and good. If you are looking for decent take out then this is your place. The crab Rangoon had plenty of cream cheese. The veggie fried rice was nice with real veggies and bean shoots not just the standard peas and carrots you get at other places. Tried the Moo Goo Gai Pan and the Sweet and Sour chicken. My only complaint was the using of canned mushrooms, but I can get over it. I will be back. read more

I usually love the food from Green China, but tonight upon arriving home and starting to eat my sauteed mixed vegetables, I found a small maggot. This isn't the biggest deal to me (even though it probably should be) but I did not want to finish the dish and would rather have a new one. I called and they said they would have no problem replacing it so my father drove me back to the restaurant, disrupting my family's dinner, to get the new order of vegetables. What the man on the phone failed to tell me was that he wanted me to bring the old food back before he would give me the new, but it had been thrown away already at home. I was not going to make an 8 mile round trip to get my food from the trash, so I told them that I would not be coming back. I'm greatly saddened that the only chinese restaurant I had been going to no longer makes me feel welcomed. I won't return to this Green China location. read more

I was using doordash for the first time in my area and I saw that Green China has "Springfield Cashew Chicken" and I stopped dead in my tracks !!! I use to go to school in Springfield and they have this totally unique cashew chicken and I LOVE IT. I thought I would give it a try and see if they got the groove on it and BROTHER they nailed it. Delivery took over an hour and a half. I don't know where those who gave great reviews have eaten before, but the food here can only be called edible. There wasn't nearly enough sauce on the Chef Specials, the crab Ragoon was way too sweet, and I don't know what that was they called "lobster". Usually, Green China provides decent food and delivery. You should know that if you call them and they say up to an hour for delivery this could mean anywhere from an hour to 2 hours. 2 hours was our delivery time. When you call and speak to the manager they say "oh, we always tell them to say an hour." They did not offer to comp us in any fashion. When we inquired about it, they offered 20%, "it was all they could do." At this time, we are an not going to order from them again. If they had properly set the expectation, it would be a different situation. read more

This is a fabulas find. The crab ragoon is to die for. The best in St. louis area. They are filled with plenty of cream cheese, pineapple, crab and seasonings. Would go back just for them. Meals are good and fairly priced. Large servings can be shared. read more

It seems as though finding (good) Chinese food in St. Charles is somewhat difficult until I found Green China. Both times I have been I went in the store to order and take home the food. Both times the food was ready within 10 minutes or less. Overall the price is pretty typical for a local Chinese restaurant and the food quality meets and exceeds the price value. The menu is pretty typical for a local Chinese restaurant. If I'm ever in the mood for good Chinese food I am definitely coming here for now on. read more

We are not often impressed about Chinese food here in the Midwest. It's greasy and drowning in gravy that all tastes the same typically so we were pretty impressed with Green China. The restaurant is really clean and bright and the food is fresh and good. Things taste like they are supposed to and not swimming in oil. We are so happy to finally have a place to get good takeout. The location is tricky as its in the corner of a one way intersection but now that I know it's no problem and it's worth it. read more

Had food delivered on a weeknight. Please keep in mind, we are originally from the Bay Area of California, where you can get some of the best Chinese food on almost every corner. So...I am a little bit of a snob when it comes to good Chinese. We ordered Hot and Sour Soup, Kung Pao Chicken, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Pork Lo Mein, General Tso's chicken and Beef with Broccoli. Everything was just ok. The spicy dishes were not even spicy for the kids. They ate it with no problem. The Hot and Sour Soup and Beef with Broccoli were probably the best out of everything, but even those were mediocre. The sweet and sour sauce was not good at all. We tried this place because of the good reviews, but our luck was not so good. The service, pace and employees all were fine, but our food was disappointing. One of us had Sweet and Sour Chicken, but they forgot to put the sweet/sour sauce in the bag. Thankfully, I had some sauce packets at home. The "famous" crab rangoon was huge and filled with plenty of crab stuffing, but the shell was soggy and tasteless. I ordered Shezuan Beef (sp?) and it was really bad. The sauce was jell-like and the whole thing had a smell and taste of fish. I called to complain and a female employee took my number and said they would call back...it's been over 2 days and I have not heard back from them.
