I have been to green corner many times then I stopped coming and now I remember why. First, let's start with the good. The hummus is very good. It's creamy and has a great flavor. The portion sizes are large so if all you care is about portion size than this is the place for you. I got the chicken shawarma. The chicken was not good in fact it tasted off and I hope I don't suffer the consequences later today. The rice is cooked well but the flavor is strong and not enjoyable...but that's just me. The salad is good. The salad dressing is sweet which is not common with most middle eastern restaurants I have been to before. Decent food and great atmosphere! I ordered the gyro plate. The meat was super hard and was sliced In small pieces. Felt like it was over cooked and it was a little greasy. Not sure if I'll come back as there are better Mediterranean places in the valley. Try MVP Pita by Power/McKellips. That's a great place! Such unusual choice of music tho. I'll tell you what this place is actually pretty good. I was a little hesitant when my buddy said Mediterranean food (Greek food). But it was actually fire. As soon as I walked in I was like this place is pretty slow must not be that good. Well as soon as we ordered not bit 10 minutes later boom they got a massive rush in the door. I was like well they are lining up for something good. As soon as we got our food. The portion size blew me away. How was I suppose to eat all this food by myself. Impossible. It was. I took so.e home to my wife and even though we had to reward it, still tasted good. Not as good as it was taste fresh but still good flavor. We had dinner here last week. This place has great reviews, so it was no surprise to find the place busy with patrons. The fast casual approach to Greek Food is a nice touch. It's nice to be able to place an order, manage your own drink refills and not feel rushed. The portion sizes were huge. You definitely get your money's worth. The Gyro plate (Chicago Style) was good. It was a little more dry than I like, but had decent flavor. Having a large portion of cucumbers and pita bread rounded out the plate nicely. I would likely get the traditional Gyro Sandwich next time. My wife had the Chicken Kabob Plate. Again, the portion size was large. Her rice was crunchy and the pita pieces were dry. Likely just an off night for them. So, in review... convenient and casual, which are both a plus. Food portions are generous and the prices are very fair. Great food, large portions, and friendly people! There's really not much else to say. We got the chicken shawarma and lamb chop plates. Everything was delicious - hummus (so yummy!!), salad, rice, pita bread, fries, and the meats. The ladies swung by and gave us each a complimentary piece of baklava, which was really nice of them. This has got to be the best Greek place in town, or at least that I have tried since moving here. Huge portions, delicious food, and quick service, not to mention the lovely outdoor seating and huge, spacious indoor seating! It's very casual - you order at the counter and they bring it to your table. I got the beef schwarma, and it comes with salad, yellow rice, hummus, and pita, which I substituted for cucumbers. My dine-mate got a wrap and ate about half of it, as it was huge. Food arrived in about fifteen minutes, as they were very busy on a Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately, no free baklava for us! The food was no better than Pita Jungle (which is pretty good). The ambiance and service, though, we're poor. The service consisted of a walk up ordering counter (like a McDonald's) staffed by a person who talked (mumbled) in a way that suggested to me she didn't actually care whether we could hear her. The ambiance was an unusual area with cafe-like tables and chairs in the middle and odd booths along the walls. Do not recommend. I came in after spin class one Thursday evening and ordered a Lamb Kafta Kabob and a Mix Swarma Combo to-go. I was told that the Lamb would take 20 minutes to prepare so I got a mint Abali yogurt soda to try while I waited. Holy sodium bomb! I don't think the Abali yogurt soda is for me but to each their own. After receiving our food and taking it home, I opened up each box to the biggest portion of delicious-smelling food. I refuse to believe that anyone could leave Green Corner Restaurant hungry. It was bite after bite of tender medium-cooked lamb, creamy hummus, a refreshing Greek salad, fluffy rice, and a cup of tasty tahini sauce. I was insanely happy with my meal. I've been coming here since they were in the smaller building next door. Every time they test my patience, I get the same meal every time so I know it takes 25-30 minutes so I always call ahead of time. But if I call 30 minutes ahead of time every time and I'm still waiting for 10 minutes after getting there it's really discouraging to keep returning. Multiple times I've asked to if my order was ready just to be told 10 more minutes, 10 minutes goes by and I ask again. They'll pull my bag of food out from the mess of bags they have and say oh it's right here sorry. If you come here be prepared to leave in a food coma. All I remember was trying to finish my hummus but no matter how much I ate, every time I looked down there was still a lot left on my plate. I finally gave up and took it to go. But boy was it good. My first thought when walking in was how crowded it was. We Ordered our food and there were no available tables since half are closed due to covid. We had to sit outside which was fine because the servers took the food out to us and they were very attentive throughout our meal. Portions are huge! I ordered the lamb shank plate and my dining companion got the mixed shawarma. Both very good and over flowing with tender meat and fluffy rice. This meal was my breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack, and dessert all in one. I had enough leftovers to last me all day. Only thing I did not enjoy was the salad. Greek salad is my favorite but I think I got the last of the batch because all I got was olives, bell peppers, and tomatoes. No lettuce. It was also very vinegary. Overall we loved this place. This clean, casual, counter-service spot turns out all the classic street foods like shawarmas, kebabs, and gyros on both sandwiches and plates, but my pick was the Vegetarian Plate, which came with creamy hummus, tabbouleh, baba ghanoush (which very forward on the tahini), two dolmas, and three falafels with tahini dip. Every element of this plate was indeed fresh and delicious--my favorite was the falafel, which had a super crispy/crunchy exterior, though it was on the greasy side. The plate was served with thin pita bread, which unfortunately turned out a bit stale, and for some added spice, packets of Lee Kum Kee Sriracha sauce! I also tried bites of the beef shawarma and the gyro, both of which were nicely seasoned and paired nicely with the herbed tzatziki sauce on the side! While the food here was indeed delicious, this restaurant may have been the victim of its own popularity, as our order seemed like it had been forgotten and took quite a while to arrive.
