4.5 stars Green Corner has been lauded as one of the best Mediterranean restaurants in the Phoenix area, so as a big fan of Mediterranean cuisine, I had to go and see! This clean, casual, counter-service spot turns out all the classic street foods like shawarmas, kebabs, and gyros on both sandwiches and plates, but my pick was the Vegetarian Plate, which came with creamy hummus, tabbouleh, baba ghanoush (which very forward on the tahini), two dolmas, and three falafels with tahini dip. Every element of this plate was indeed fresh and delicious--my favorite was the falafel, which had a super crispy/crunchy exterior, though it was on the greasy side. The plate was served with thin pita bread, which unfortunately turned out a bit stale, and for some added spice, packets of Lee Kum Kee Sriracha sauce! I also tried bites of the beef shawarma and the gyro, both of which were nicely seasoned and paired nicely with the herbed tzatziki sauce on the side! While the food here was indeed delicious, this restaurant may have been the victim of its own popularity, as our order seemed like it had been forgotten and took quite a while to arrive. We really enjoyed this Mediterranean restaurant. Seating is limited during Covid, but we were able to find a spot. It took about 30 minutes to get out food because they had so many take out orders ahead of ours. The staff was incredibly friendly and even gave us complimentary baklava. The food was a little oily but overall very good. The portions were quite large and definitely got your money's worth. I'd recommend the chicken shawarma plate and the gyro plate. Today the wife said she wanted some Mediterranean food like shawarma. I looked up some restaurants close to me and found this gem. We both got the mix shawarma with chicken and beef. The wife got it with the salad and I changed the salad for the French fries. I made a good choice as the fries were super good. They were so crispy. The amount of food on both plates was a lot. I noticed a lamb shank combination plate they serve on Friday. If looking for a place with table covering and cloth napkins with a great view you probably want to go elsewhere. The place is rather unassuming and casual when you walk in, with a register up front to order and big screens to make it easy. I ordered the chicken kabob plate which came with rice, Greek salad, and hummus. It was a 25 minute wait- which they had informed me when I ordered. The food was right on time and I had it at home. Holy shit was that hummus on a whole other level. It was by far the best hummus I've ever had. The chicken had a lot of flavor and I loved the roasted veggies it came with. The food was 9/10 and the price was right. I actually could have gotten two meals out of it but it was so yummy I couldn't stop myself! One word to describe this establishment? Amazing! In town for MLB Spring Training and lucky enough to have this restaurant close by to the hotel. The food is so perfectly seasoned and you get plenty to take with you as leftovers. One great aspect is you get a choice of three sides to choose out of six options. The employees are so kind and they even provided some complimentary mouth watering Baklava towards the end of the meal. We went on a Saturday evening and they were extremely busy. They did give us a heads up on how long the food would take to come out based on how busy it was, so that was much appreciated. So I came to this restaurant in Mesa about 4 maybe 5 years ago. It was half the size it was now. I honestly didn't have a good experience even though others did. Not really the food but the service that night was just really bad. I don't leave a negative review about a place unless it happens more than once because everyone has off days (unless something happens that is reprehensible). So I wanted to give Green Corner another chance. I work really close and over the years they've have expanded exponentially. I was going out with a friend to dinner and we couldn't decide what to eat, so we decided to come here! It's like night and day the experience I had from 4-5 years ago to the one I had recently. Not only that the renovations alone in The Mesa location changed it from just a small local diner to a upscale, modern establishment. You go up and order at the counter, then you get your table and drink. They will bring you your food to you at your table. We got the Gyro Plate and Chicken Shawarma Plate. It was so much food and it was all so good! The meats were tender and perfectly seasoned. The pita bread came out soft and warm. The hummus was the perfect compliment with the bread and meat. The salad fresh along with dressing on top. I am not a huge fan of tahini sauce in general but overall it tasted good with the meat. The only complaint that I have is that it did take a bit of time for the food but we did come at a really busy time. I also do want to say that it was incredibly hard to hear the girls say the numbers when they are walking around looking for peoples tables. I think on table markers or a microphone would be really helpful for them. Overall, I had a pleasant experience my second time around and would definitely come back again. I can taste the hummus and salad right now as I type. Yes, it's that good! The best thing I ordered during Covid was Green Corner Restaurant and I'm so glad I did. I've had it bookmarked for a while but this was my first time actually trying it. I went with the Chicken Shawarma entree which comes with Hummus, Greek Salad, Rice and Pita bread. You can also substitute Baba Ghannoug tabouleh or french fries if you don't want the hummus, greek salad or rice. My friend ordered the Green Corner Combo which is one Skewer of lamb kafta kabob, chicken kabab, beef shish kabob, and one falafel. This also comes with hummus, greek salad, rice and pita bread. OMG! Holy S*&t. It was some of the best Greek food I've had in Arizona. I haven't any hummus and feta this good since visiting Bali honestly. The meats were seasoned to perfection. I thoroughly enjoyed the lamp and chicken. The portions were so huge! We were able to eat 3 times off of one entree. The icing on the cake for our meal was we were gifted with 2 pieces of delicious Baklava. Again, so darn good! read more

Green Corner just moved from it's old location with the large covered outdoor seating area, but smaller interior, to suite 7 which is a few doors further east in the same shopping center. This new suite is about twice as large. Much nicer inside, but the outdoor seating of the old location would be nice this fall, especially with Covid. I came here with a "Cheap Eats" MeetUp group on Saturday afternoon Sept 19,2020. My previous visits resulted in dry overcooked meats, which the owner's cousin, Ash, remade for me and made the meats to my liking. Well, this visit was no different from the previous ones (see my reviews below). I ordered Mixed Shawarma. Mixed means you get two choices of shawarma, beef, gyros, or chicken. I never order chicken, cos it is always dry and hard (even Arizona Republic Reviewer framed on the wall, says so, too). I saw one guy in my group was eating chicken kabob (mixed grill, 3 kabobs). I asked him if his chicken (as he was chewing it) was hard and dry. He said he said yes, it was dry and not juicy. I told him that Ash likes to overcooked the chicken, cos he doesn't want people to get sick. My beef and gyros was dry and hard, as if you put it out in the parking lot in the sun 117 degrees for 5 hours. I later found Ash, and he asked how the food was. I said same thing, dried up. He said he would show me it is not dry. In a few minutes he brought a plate with giros and beef shawarma. What a difference ! NOT dry and shriveled, it was soft and moist. Now I asked him, why wasn't my order like that? Ash said next time you tell me first, before you order and I make sure you get meat that is not dry. But I said, "why can't you do that all the time, so I don't have to tell you". He could not answer, said there was enough traffic "you saw all the people taking orders to go", and yes I did. So the meat just doesn't sit there and get dried up. So I give 4 stars cos Ash makes it right, and I have never yet left here being stuck paying for overcooked and dry meat. 5 stars will be when the meat is not dry and hard THE FIRST TIME I order it, and that has never happened. The mixed salad is very delicious, I like the dressing. I ask that my salad be put in separate bowl, cos I don't like the dressing getting mixed with my meat and rice. The hummus was flavorless, this time, I wish I substituted with baba ganoush. The bathroom is clean but I wish they had toilet seat covers. I have been wanting to try their lamb shank but I never seem to make it here on Fridays. So I will be back. read more

I loved the food at Green Corner. If I'm being honest, one of the tastiest falafel pitas I have had in the Phoenix area. I loved the pickles, loved the hummus, the Greek salad, the rice was delicious, dolmas we're good and the baklava was good also. Honestly, the only thing I didn't love here was the ordering and delivery process. Green corner is set up like a fast casual dining experience, arrive, go through the line, make your order, pickup at the counter after they call your name or they'll drop it at your table if you're dining in. I don't mind the fast casual experience, in fact one of my favorite spots is also set up in similar fashion. The issue we had was with the time to delivery. I didn't order anything outside the box of their menu and didn't order any substitutions, yet three people behind me received their order ahead of me, so did the fifth person behind me, and then the second person behind me and then the person ahead of me, and 30ish minutes later, my delicious falafel plate was ready. It was a bit odd and I definitely saw and overheard other guests having the same experience and annoyance with food delivery. It seemed as if all the orders went into a bingo machine, they pulled one out and worked on it without semblance or order to their delivery method. I don't live close to green corner, so it won't be a frequent visit for me, I just happened to be in the area and was looking for a non meat option. I'll certainly be happy to dine with them again, but maybe I'll call the order ahead and avoid the disorderly order filling next time. read more

Good variety of food, flavorful, and reasonably priced. The staff was very helpful and friendly. There is outdoor seating which is perfect for Arizona in March. The Greek Fries are A MUST. Sure, you can put garlic and parmesan on anything and it will taste good.. but the french fries were perfectly cooked. Add in a hint of lemon and feta and you've got yourself a succulent appetizer that will not be forgotten. We would have gotten the kebabs, but they said it would be about 20 minutes so we went with the beef sandwich and the chicken plate. Both were fantastic. Again, very flavorful and unique. Yes, yes yes! Give this place a try! This has been on my list in forever. I don't think you can beat 800+ reviews that averages out to 5 stars. For an affordable, good eats affair, Green Corner is the place for you. Upon entering the establishment, there was a line that went on the door. This was in the later lunch hour on a Friday so I was sort of surprised by how busy they still were. There were so many enticing options on the menu but I opted for the beef shish kabab (Tekka) plate, which included two skewers of beef kabab style, served with grilled green peppers and tomatoes, rice, greek salad, hummus, pita bread and tahini sauce ($11.99). I also ordered fries because everyone ordered fries and they looked delicious! My eyes weren't wrong! Now, this is where things get interesting. I was so hungry when I ordered that I was tracking to see who was in front me to get a sense of when my order would come out. But as time went by, so did everyone who ordered before and after me. I was farther back in the restaurant so I couldn't flag someone down to make sure our order wasn't forgotten. Over 20 minutes later, the server brings us our order and informs us that one of the kabobs was too burnt to be served so they are cooking another one. Already slightly annoyed, I accepted the plate as is while waiting for the second kabob. When I first dug into the dish, oh my gosh, my taste buds were so happy. The beef was juicy, tender, flavorful and had the right amount of my "grill taste." The hummus was smooth as churned butter and the salad dressing and rice were made so well! The fries were excellent and addicting. At one point, I had to slap my own hand from eating more. The second kabob finally made its way out to the table and was gobbled down with no time. The serve apologized for the wait and made sure we were okay once we got our food. Each table is given baklava which was unexpected but also so satisfying. I L O V E baklava! As we were getting ready to pay, the server gave us a $10 gift card thanking us for our patience and understanding. I almost cried because I was so emotional from all of this good food and now with this gesture, you know they just "get" customer service without me expressing any dissatisfaction. I had a happy stomach and a happy heart! I cannot say enough good things about this place. After my experience, I would wait any amount of time to get that food again. I just happened to be in Mesa to check out the Arts Center on a recent evening and what I discovered was one big bedroom community with shopping plazas and strip malls a-plenty. I was looking for a healthy dinner in an unfamiliar suburb and found this Mediterranean fast-food spot on my Yelp app. Little did I realize this was #85 on Yelp's just-published Top 100 Places to Eat in the entire country (link: http://bit.ly/2sN4Qsa). It was an admittedly quirky list of non-Michelin-starred eateries, but I can see why Green Corner would have a devoted following. As we pull into the parking lot I was upset "NOOOOO THEY AREN'T THERE ANY MOOOOREEE" then I look slightly over and they just moved to the corner to a bigger place! They have it nicely decorated and clean! I was so happy to see that their business grew and flourished so much that they needed a bigger place!! There food still is yet to disappoint! Favorite Greek food that I have found so far. Would definitely come back here again. I ordered the gyro plate, which comes with rice, salad, hummus, and pita bread. They forgot to give me to Taziki's sauce, but I went back to ask for it, which is crucial and what I like as well. The gyro was really good, juicy, moist, just overall good. Combined with the hummus and the tzatziki sauce, it was wonderful. Rice in the salad were both decent and works well with everything else. Pricing was pretty good and I would say cheaper than other Greek places, was around $9 for a plate. Came here after they open and it was already starting to get busy. But their service is pretty quick and they get the order out pretty fast as well. Although it was getting busy, there was always tables open and people were coming in and out. They also have an outdoor patio seating as well for good weather. Parking is nice as they have a big parking lot. Inside is pretty clean as well. So much other stuff to try out. Will need to come back in the future. The free baklava at the end was also pretty good. Finish the whole thing. PS. A ton of quantity, could not finish the entire plate, ate a second meal out of it.
