Oh, no! My favorite Mediterranean restaurant appears to have taken a dive. Let's hope it's due to the pandemic and difficulty in getting good kitchen help. Our beef and chicken shawarma platters did not hit the spot. Meat was dry and the rice was quite oily. Thankfully the hummus was top-notch. The baklava at the end of the meal was dripping with oil; couldn't even taste the walnuts or honey. The meal made me sad. We've been eating here since they first opened in Mesa. I got the gyro plate with hummus and Greek frys and let me tell you EVERY PIECE OF THIS WAS EXACTLY RIGHT. They are doing some sort of sorcery how good this damn food was. The rice was fragrant and soft but not squishy the bread was fluffy and a little smoky the meat so tender and full of flavor and that damn taziki sauce is something heavenly!! This is my favorite place to eat period in Arizona. The meat is flavorful and always perfectly cooked. I'm so happy they have multiple locations now even with multiple locations now open the consistency in quality of food I don't feel has gone down one bit. The service is always nice friendly and timely especially considering how busy they are all. When you eat here you know it's busy because it is GOOD! This place was awesome when it was 1 small location but since it has grown, the quality of food and service has gone down quite a bit. Still okay but inconsistent and this last time my chicken thighs were burned, hard and dry. While I was waiting I also heard a couple of the girls that worked there talking about quitting because they were being sexually harrased and the manager or owner won't do anything because he says the girls bring it on themselves. Got the chicken kebab plate that was great and the greek fries (also really good), only complaint is I wish the fries came in a smaller size than large. Wow it's been a while since I've had some amazing Greek food and tonight I was able to add this gem to the list! The place definitely lives up to their reputation. I ordered the gyro plate and it came with a Greek salad, hummus, rice, and pita. Not only was everything absolutely delicious, but the portions were huge!! The gyro meat was super flavorful and I love how they got some pieces a little crispy. During our meal, one of the workers there came out and asked if we wanted free baklava and I'm not one to turn down free food so out of respect I gladly partook. Baklava was amazing and was a very nice touch that it was complimentary. If I lived in Mesa I would probably be here once a week. Please give them a visit! read more

Their food was ok at best. I liked the lamb in the sampler dish but the chicken was dry and overcooked, the beef was ok, nothing special. The sides were not impressive and they didn't give us any pita bread. My friend had the chicken dish and hers was juicy. Then we decided to the dolmas and that was the biggest mistake. They were weird tasting. I told an employee that we didn't like the dish and she didn't offer us any kind of compensation. That alone was almost $9. And since they make you pay in advance, I gave them a 15% tip. I'll never pay a tip in advance again. read more

One of the best falafel I've ever had! They baclava that comes with an entree order is so so yummy. They were very busy (understandably) on a Friday night. Our servers were super nice and attentive to clean up and it was over all great food! This place is my standby for Lebanese food and has always been reliable as has its Chandler location. The portions are generous and I have never been let down by any of the options here. They even ask you how well done you want the meats cooked. Baba Ghanoug is great, packed full of smoky creaminess and the toum is delightfully sharp. THEN someone just sets some baklava in front of me. My previous problems with baklava is the density of it if the fillo isn't good(too much butter and not crispy)Not a problem here plus the honey was all over the place YUM YUM. How good is this place? If you're looking for a meal with a generous portion of food at a reasonable price then Green Corner Restaurant is a great option! I saw this place come up on Yelp when Mark R. reviewed it, and I've had it bookmarked ever since. It was a bit out of the way for us but we decided it would be worth a try. The restaurant itself is located towards the back of a parking lot; It would be a hard find unless someone is actually looking for it (I did see that there's a Pokémon gym located nearby, however, so maybe that makes it a little bit easier). There were a few tables inside for different size groups, but overall, nothing fancy which is perfectly fine. All orders are placed at the front counter and food is brought out to your table. We ordered the Chicken Shawarma Plate and the Gyros Plate which both came with a side of rice, salad, and hummus. It took a while to get the food, however we could tell everything was made fresh after we ordered it! My favorite thing on the plate was the rice as it was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. It tasted great with bits of the chicken shawarma and garlic sauce. The salad was full of lettuce, cucumbers, bell peppers, tomatoes, kalamata olives, feta cheese, and dressing. I personally didn't enjoy the hummus as much as my fiancé did just because it was a little bit more lemon-y than I prefer. Next time, I would ask if I could get something else instead. We agreed that this restaurant would probably become our go-to for Mediterranean food because of the price as well the food itself. This place has great food, but it has a real issue with wait times. Every time we come here the wait is 30 minutes or more for most dishes. But I've never seen wait times like this at similar restaurants - even at Persian room on their busiest nights! The big problem is that they will never tell you that in advance of you placing your order so you end up sitting there waiting, hungry. We are now in the habit of asking before placing our order. After coming home from Kuwait and traveling the middle east I was looking for authentic Shawarma and this is the only place I have tried so far (I've tried at least 7 different place around the valley) that actually reminds me of the middle east. Great flavor and vegetarian options available! I love their falafel sandwich (made like the shawarma) and their dolmas (wrapped grape leaves.) Their Greek fries are the best on town as they use a lot of lemon juice and paprika. They have a new place with more space as well. I highly recommend this place! read more

I've ordered Door Dash from the Green Corner twice and decided to order pickup today. I called and placed an order over the phone. The employee was very nice and exact to make sure I got the meal I wanted. I came to pick it up and WOW. The inside looks super clean and trendy. Next time I am definitely eating in. I loved how bright it was and generally how nice it was on the inside. I got a Gyro Combo, which for $8.95 gets you a Gyro that has perfect portions of all the works, fries and a piece of baklava plus a drink. This fills me up almost uncomfortably! The gyro meat is perfect.... I've tried lots of green places in the valley and if the meat is off it ruins the whole gyro, here it is amazing and perfectly cooked. Fries are typical Greek place fries, super good though and always cooked crispy. This is a 5/5 Greek place. My only suggestion is to please add a dish to the menu where there is gyro meat over hummus that comes with pita!! I would come here every week if that was an option. read more
