My friend suggested that we meet at this vegan restaurant since she is staying in Los Feliz right now. Upon looking at the menu, we were overwhelmed by so many choices. I mean, Pan-Asian/American dishes? Plus, we could order pancakes? Vegan chicken nuggets and pancakes? How fun! We ordered the endamame, Brussel sprouts, herb soup, spicy ramen, and Impossible wrap with French fries. The brussels sprouts were delicious - they were perfectly crispy on the outside, not too soft on the inside and the sauce was sweet and tart. My friends enjoyed their soups. One of my friends is on a very strict, low sodium diet and the herb soup fit her needs health-wise and taste-wise. My impossible wrap and French fries were serviceable but nothing to write home about. My Thai tea was a little bit too sweet so I kept pouring water in it to dilute it. I think the most important thing is knowing what to order here. I'm sure the cooked Asian dishes are probably better than the wraps and I definitely want to come back to try other vegan entrées. I do think this restaurant is a bit of a Goldmine for the vegan Community just because there are so many options. The café itself is charming with its wooden accents, brown and beige booths and tons of artificial plants. But it is a mom and pop establishment with old bathrooms so it's definitely a casual dining type of spot. It was not too crowded when we got there at noon on a Tuesday. The restaurant is clean with a casual ambience. The prices are reasonable for Los Angles specialty dining. Our only constructive critique would be to possibly have vegan desserts as well. Unfortunately, I'll only be doing walk-ins from now on instead of ordering for delivery, and that's only because they don't allow you to order extra sauce anymore. There's nothing worse than eating dry food and running out of your favorite sauce to dip it in. The wrap was packaged beautifully-- though the glass noodles, as seen in pic, were steaaaaming in the box w/ some intense condensation action. I even tried ordering 50 minutes prior to when I wanted to pick up my food and I showed up and it was still going to be another 25 minutes. Plus the parking situation sucks. GL has an amazing menu with equally amazing concoctions. Unlike the other V/V+ places that are often Thai influenced, this menu runs the gamut across Smashburgers, great Italian pastas, tasty V pancakes with fresh fruit and toppings (real maple available) and every version of anything that fits into a bun or between slices of bread. We used to really like this place and unfortunately our last experience grossed us out heavily. After coming here for months we loved the flavor of the food they cooked. However the last time we went there took a turn for the worse. We asked for an order of fries and by the time we picked up the Togo order the fries were cold. Not a problem, I understand that if it's been sitting there a short while it happens. I asked the lady if it was possible to get a fresh batch of fries so that we could eat it on our ride back home. I would have been okay with a simple, no we can't do that or you'll have to pay for another. I only asked because other restaurants sometimes don't mind a new batch a French fries. But honesty and transparency would have been better. The women seemed irritated and asked the cook something in their language and agreed to take my bag back. I waited and got the bag back. When we opened the bag the fries seemed so hard like they just reheated the same fries in the community fryer to heat it again instead of getting new fries. I confronted the lady and yes, they did just that, they reheated our fries, put it into the same fryer that other people's cooked in and gave it back to us. That is totally a health violation. You can't cook already touched fries and cook it with the same oil you would everyone else's fries. Thats gross. Also, While standing there we noticed a man repouring old water from one pitcher to and new pitcher of water instead of throwing the other out. That grossed us out. read more

Usually, when I go to a restaurant, I measure the quality based on how well I would be able to replicate their food. I'm not the best cook out there but I can hold my own. Green Leaves is capable of concocting something I never would be able to conceive in my wildest dreams. The thought of Vegan is not so appealing to me, but what Green Leaves is able to achieve in their food is beyond my comprehension. Their fried chicken skewers taste like chicken, and have the crispiest, most delicious texture to them. They also do a PHENOMENAL job with the curry. I can do Thai food at home, but this is an experience worth traveling for. My father is vegetarian. If I ever go to LA with him, I'm bringing him here. read more

Green Leaves Vegan is a Thai restaurant on Hillhurst ave in Los Feliz. What I like about this place is that they use the finest Vegan ingredients to bring customers the healthiest and tastiest food. For instance, their Spaghetti which has ground tofu, spinach, zucchini and onions, was delightful and very tasty. It's slightly sweet tomato sauce makes it interesting. Drinks (water and coconut juice) were refreshing. Their indoor decor was modern with very inviting atmosphere. And their indoor and outdoor seats were very spacious. Service was top notch. Unfortunately giving a bad review because when receiving my food the sweet and sour chicken dish was cold when I took my first bite. It was definitely frozen and not cooked throughly before serving. Then when they took it back after acknowledging the issue calmly, they took the plate and returned it after just reheating the whole plate. It's not real meat and it just tasted bad after. So I asked to replace the dish with a different item on the menu and asked for no sauce. Dish comes out with sauce. Then after it all, they only took off 20% off the original dish that they served to me cold ... that was barely eaten from! I don't like writing bad reviews especially with businesses that are not large cooperations but felt that this experience needed to be shared. read more

A brother highly recommended this place as his go to spot and we were so happy to have came here (we were reluctant because it was vegan and were craving for meat). Parking is a bit challenging. We were able to find street parking, it was a walk but worth it. We ordered their famous pancakes (OG pancakes), spicy chicken sandwich, spring rolls, spicy eggplant, fried banana rolls, salad. We throughly enjoyed everything especially the pancakes and banana rolls were amazing!!! You def have to get that!!! I really enjoyed my dine-in experience at Green Leaves Vegan on a Monday night in mid October. We were visiting from out of town and came here immediately after checking into our nearby Airbnb. It was not crowded and the restaurant offered a spacious and clean atmosphere. My partner enjoyed the chicken dinner with mashed potatoes as his main and I had the quesadilla with vegan steak and spicy popcorn chicken appetizers as a meal. The food was delicious. The best vegan pancakes I ever tried - I couldn't believe they were vegan for how fluffy, and lightweight they were. The the vegan chicken was ok, and the salad was simple with a savory dressing. They serve fresh coconut which was so refreshing and basically a small meal, because I love eating the coconut meat - it was a bit hard to scoop it; the coconut may not have been that young but it was still fresh and mildly soft! Now that I no longer live in the neighborhood, I try to eat here as often as possible, ignoring all the other spots that are built around being Instagram-able rather than edible. I generally crave the spring rolls or fresh rolls, the Thai iced tea, and any of the curries. They have a new(ish?) burger menu, so my boyfriend tried the double smash burger and it is one of the best vegan burgers you can get - especially at only $15. They also have amazing pancakes and "chicken"! I only wish they were open earlier so I could come here for breakfast. The staff is friendly and the food never disappoints. Eat here! read more

The customer service & food have completely gone down hill. I had been going there for years & alway gave nice tips & 'm treated like crap when I go there. The server "guy" has gotten my order wrong & tries to charge me for his mistakes. The food is mediocre at best that's why I only order one thing off the menu. I'm very health-conscious and most of their dishes are made with vital wheat, gluten and lots of sugar and salt. Their bathroom is completely filthy, and the restaurant is old and creepy looking. I even saw a roach in the restroom the last time I was there. There are so many vegan Thai places to choose from that are so much better, with good customer service. I will never go there again. Green Leaves is an LA treasure. Vegan and non-vegans alike can and should appreciate this delicious food! My partner usually gets the chik'n & tropical pancakes (he craves it) and I really love the fresh & spring rolls & their pad Thai is incredible. The soups and curries are fantastic too.
