This is the second weekend in a row I've gone to The Moody Vegan! I've been following them for quite a while on Instagram and happened to drive by last Sunday. It was kismet as I had time to kill. It's a very cute corner storefront with about five tables each, inside and out. As it was Sunday, metered parking on Sunset was free. I cannot not order a BLT when it's tomato season so I got that and a cafe au (oat) lait. I have been a vegetarian since 1992 and this was the BEST plant-based bacon I've ever had. It was smoky, crispy, salty, broke into perfect shards. It was to die for. I came back today and two of us ordered the breakfast burrito and the BLT again. I had the mint iced tea which was perfection. Again, just so so good. And the staff is super kind and welcomed my pug with a dog treat. I am excited to go over and over and start to explore other items on the menu. read more

I've been wanting to try Moody Vegan, so when my sister came to town for my birthday (she's a vegan), I thought this would be the perfect spot for my bday breakfast. I was right! Immediately, when I came in, I felt welcomed by the person who was front of house. It's super cute inside, with just a few tables for seating and very cool merch. My sister had the house breakfast w/ tofu scramble, vegan bacon and vegan sausage, avocado and toast. I had the mini waffles. We both had pumpkin spice chai lattes. The waffles were so good! Crispy outside, fluffy center, and I tasted my sister's bacon, which was so good, it makes me want to go back for their BLT. They have a really vast menu of breakfast and lunch, and it was such a sweet way to start off my bday weekend. I appreciated the service and will definitely be back to try more! read more

I have a confession to make. Even though I'm in a serious relationship, I often flirt with a veggie lifestyle -- because of how it makes me feel. No butterflies or bubbles in my stomach, but there is a lot of peace, bliss, and unadulterated joy. Today I was introduced to The Moody Vegan, and I was thoroughly impressed. My friend and I shared a BLT with avocado and a McMoody -- their sausage egg muffin sandwich -- with fries. That BLT? It stole my heart. The Umaro bacon was nice and crispy and full of flavor. The bread wasn't your typical "toasted sourdough" -- it had a satisfying crunch on the outside while staying soft on the inside. And they did not skimp on the avocado mash. They were incredibly generous. The McMoody was equally on point -- you simply cannot go wrong with it. They did such a good job that I'm fully invested in this relationship. I NEED to find out why they call themselves "Moody" -- because if anything, they're holding onto the best of moods: bliss, joy, love, and a real sense of community. Word on the street is they also have some delicious lattes. AND I missed my photo op -- I was borderline hangry and mid-Zoom call. Still, no regrets. The one thing The Moody Vegan didn't do? Popped in for a quick coffee and was greeted with an expansive menu for a reasonable price! The place is small and clean with a door into the kitchen, and you can tell a lot of love is put into making this place the local gem that it is. The cashier was incredibly friendly and was more than happy to combine their Little Armenian Latte with the Iced Raspberry Latte cause I couldn't choose. This restaurant is the cutest and I came here recently with my mom and my cousin when they were in town. There were a few tables inside as well as outside and the decor is eclectic and vibrant. I ordered the breakfast burrito which is a must, as it's so savory and hearty and flavorful. It really hit the spot and had the perfect level of spice. I also got the pistachio latte with oat milk, which was on special. It was nutty and creamy and so well balanced. The service was so friendly and impeccable and the food was served very promptly. We were even checked on a few times to ensure everything was to our satisfaction, which it very much was! My cousin and mom also loved their food and drinks and raved about how flavorful everything was. The value here is great for the area and everything is reasonably priced. The seating is also very comfy. While we didn't end up getting dessert, their baked goods looked so delicious and enticing and next time I return, I will just have to try some! Food was delicious and service was great. The owner, Alex, was so helpful and just gives off good-guy vibes. We ordered a breakfast burrito, a Philly steak sandwich, and garlic fries, and we shared everything. We polished off the burrito and sandwich and most of the fries but were too full to clean off that plate, too. Everything tasted great! I was referred by my neighbor and apparently everyone in my building orders this like it is going out of style. After my first visit to Moody Vegan I immediately understood why. This is a family owned restaurant in Los Angeles and you can feel that heart behind it the moment you walk in. The people working there are so kind welcoming and patient and it feels like they truly care about both the food and the customers. Now let's talk about the breakfast burrito because it absolutely deserves the hype. It is award winning and for good reason. My kids literally fight over it. I learned very quickly that ordering just one is a mistake so now I always order two. I still do not know how they manage to finish it because it is massive and packed with so much flavor. It is filling comforting and unbelievably satisfying. Everything inside tastes fresh and thoughtfully prepared and you completely forget you are eating vegan food because it is just that good. Everything at Moody Vegan tastes fresh and intentional. Nothing feels processed or rushed. The ingredients are high quality and the portions are generous without being messy or overwhelming. The concept itself is amazing and really well executed. It feels modern but still warm and inviting. Even the branding stands out. The logo is great and the whole place has a cohesive vibe that just works. What really seals it for me is how consistent they are. Every visit is just as good as the last which is rare. It makes sense now why everyone in my building orders from here so often. It has become one of those places people rely on because it never disappoints. I genuinely love this place. This chic little bakery cafe restaurant in East Hollywood's Little Armenia neighborhood is an entirely vegan (aka plant-based) spot with a awesome variety of yummy meals, deals, and mini frills including their assortment of pastries, baked goods and beverages. I've been lucky enough to enjoy things here and there in the past, mainly via friends picking up delicious eats and special occasion items for small gatherings, but this was one of my very first full on sit down experiences ever! Alex, the husband of the owner is one of the most genuine human beings I ever met. He's a one man show helping run this now just shy of two full years old hub for any and all. He's got all the recommends and then some! Once you order you can enjoy dinning inside or out, great ambiance, cool images, decor and art + that awesome assortment of merch(andise/swag) behind the counter. I went with the breakfast plate, white chocolate pecan cookie and a cold brew... And let me tell you, I need this combination again. I had the McMoody! I ordered online and worried a bit about finding parking but found street parking easily enough. I was told my order would take about 15 minutes and even though it was very busy- as I walked in my order was ready right on time. My McMoody was delicious! I opted to add the hash brown. The Moody Vegan has the BEST breakfast burrito I have ever had. Savory, a little crunch from the potatoes, and I always get the avocado sauce on the side for a little extra flair. An exceptional vegan business. The restaurant is small but bustling with energy. The hospitality is in a league of its own from the moment you step in. The owner is incredibly welcoming and seems to really care about her customers. When we ordered the breakfast burrito and chocolate croissant at the counter, she offered to serve the croissant after we were finished with the burrito so that the croissant would be warm and fresh! We had the breakfast burrito. My non-vegan friend called it the best burrito she's ever had. The outer tortilla is toasted to a crisp perfection. The inside is comprised of potatoes, avocado, salsa, and a deliciously creamy sauce. It's served with a creamy avocado sauce on the side. We also had the chocolate croissant. Happened to stop by on a whim, since my mom's nursing facility is a block away and my gluten-free husband needed something to munch on. Ended up trying one of the best breakfast burritos I've ever had. The service was incredible. We had the pleasure of being served by one of the owners, Alex. Right off the bat, you can tell that he loves what he does, and is proud of everything that he and his wife have built -- as he should be! The dining area was small, but nicely set up for dine-in or pickup orders, and decorated well. I especially loved the small cart up front displaying other businesses' cards and flyers for neighborhood events and local announcements -- you can truly feel the community they've built and the love that everything is centered on. I had the breakfast burrito and a little Armenia latte, my husband went for a BLT with a gluten-free wrap and a peachy arnold palmer. Everything was beyond delicious. We even grabbed a pastry and a couple of cookies (matcha, rocky road, and snickerdoodle) to-go, and I'm so glad we didn't miss out on the softest, chewiest cookies I've had in recent memory. While eating our brunch, we witnessed Alex simply be the kindest human to everyone that walked through the door. He remembered customers' orders, used someone's native language with them for more effective communication (despite saying that he only spoke spanish "un poco"), and simply go above and beyond. I drive to LA every other week from the bay area, and my only regret is that we didn't find out about The Moody Vegan sooner. They had to close today due to an emergency, otherwise I'd be inside ordering another bomb burrito. Hell, I'm the furthest thing from vegan, but I really just enjoyed it that much. We're beyond excited to try more off the menu, and to meet the other half of this dynamic duo. Toasted to perfection and has everything you'd crave in a breakfast burrito without being too overwhelming. I also got the peach iced tea and it was perfect. Wasn't too busy around noon so my friend and I had no issue finding a spot to enjoy our treats. I got a vanilla latte with cold foam and a breakfast burrito. The burrito came with an avocado crema but the burrito was flavorful on its own; did not need it but a fun addition! Lots of people picking up takeout so if you can't make it here at the moment try UberEats and Postmates.
