We were on our way home and wanted to grab something for lunch. Found Samata Vegan House by luck. It is a very cute space. They have all of the basics for a Thai menu. Curries, noodles, soups, etc. We went with fried tofu as the protein option. And got Spicy Eggplant as one dish and Spicy Mongolian as the other. Along with Spicy Dumplings for appetizers and Jasmine rice for the entrees. Oh, and a peanut butter, chocolate vegan cookie. There are a few tables, cute décor and really good music playing. It was quick and easy to order. The lady who took the order was very nice and helpful. But disappeared once the food was ordered. After a bit, she came back out with a heavy bag full of wonderful goodness. We headed home and opened the bag after having to smell it for the 5 minute drive home. The containers held a good amount of food. Enough for a few meals. The potstickers were very good. Had a good amount of flavor and heat. We should have eaten at the restaurant as the dumpling wrapper was starting to fall apart, but that was our fault. Both the Spicy Eggplant and Mongolian dishes were flavorful and well made. Nothing over cooked, they had rich flavor and we would both gladly order again. The rice was cooked properly and was stuffed into the container. And the cookie. I am so in awe of good, vegan cookies. They are so easy to make wrong. This was so good. A great way to wrap up a really good and filling meal. read more

I've walk past this block of stores in Hollywood very often and didn't realize that Samata Vegan House was here. A vegan friend and I had time to grab lunch before going to the movies. I was trying to find a vegan restaurant that she hadn't been to before. So after googling we both hadn't been to Samata Vegan House. I was shock that we found street parking immediately and there wasn't a wait to sit down and eat. The restaurant is very intimate and is open for lunch and dinner. Five or six 2 seater tables. The hostess was amazing and friendly. There were international customers and local neighborhood diners as well. There was a board with meal options of the day. This place is 100% vegan. Even the Thai iced tea is made with nut milk options. I ordered the red curry...very spicy and with brown rice. Great food, amazing service. YES, I will go back again and again! read more

Came here for lunch with a friend and had a lovely time! The restaurant is located on a busy street and despite being really small, it was easy to find! The staff were so friendly and helpful in deciding what to order. I also love how they have a sign that says their most ordered/most loved items. My friend opted for a curry while I went with the Hell Fire Chicken, which sounded unique and delicious! The food came out pretty quickly, but not worryingly so, where it tasted freshly made but allowed us to not spend too long there, as we were attending a screening down the street! My friend loved his curry and said it was perfectly spiced while I similarly found mine to be very flavorful and I really loved the garlic and homemade brown sauce. It was a great combination of slight sweetness with a long of tang! The chicken had an excellent texture and was chewy on the outside and soft on the inside. The veggies were sautéed to perfection to have their own crispiness. I had a Thai ice tea with oat milk, which was decadent and rich while being nice and refreshing. It balanced the flavors and spice of the dish so well! The ambiance was quaint and the seating was comfy. They really make great use of the space and manage to fit a few tables without it feeling too crowded! Parking was really easy on the side streets in the surrounding neighborhood and there are also meters available on Highland. Coming here was such a treat, especially since I had no idea they existed! This location is very small but quaint. There are roughly 5 tables in the entire place. Luckily we didn't have to wait for a table nor did anyone else over the time we spent there--but we did arrive early around 4:30pm. The bathroom was quite small but I was glad they at least had one. The waitress that helped us was super nice and knowledgeable. I tried both the Tom Yum Wings, Drunken Noodles and my friend's Curry Noodles with medium spice. I'd say next time I'd rather get the curry noodles over drunken but the drunken weren't bad--just a little sweet for my taste. I'd be open to coming here again to try other dishes. read more

Ordered through Postmates. Fully vegan Thai restaurant. I opted to get the Thai Green Curry and Spicy Eggplant. Thai green curry - delicious and has the green curry flavor, but it was a little saltier than the thai green curry I normally have. They don't skimp on the veggies and I ended up not being able to finish them. Spicy eggplant - delicious if you like eggplant! It's just a mix of eggplant pieces, assorted vegetables, and your choice of protein. Overall, I'd say it's pretty on-par with the other (many) vegan thai places in the area. Just far away enough from Hollywood Blvd., a little gem to be found where you can truly enjoy a delicious meal. The menu is amazing. Try the spring rolls and the "chicken" garlic pepper. They don't disappoint. They also offer a dirty Thai tea with coconut milk. Delicious. The young lady that works here is really sweet. Loved the Thai food here. Everything here is vegan and tasty. The decor is beautiful and the host was especially attentive. Checked in on us to see how everything tastes and if the penang curry was too spicy. My daughter would not have said anything of she hasn't checked and yes it was a tad too spicy. They remade it for her without question and I'm 10 minutes she had a new milder version that was perfect. The pad keeps mao was exactly what I wanted today. I compare it to a slightly spicy version of pad see ew with more vegetables. Again, very tasty and would get again without hesitation. We stopped in late last night and the owner was so welcoming. It's a cozy place with music and pretty decor. We ordered the dirty Thai tea with coconut milk and Thai tea with coconut milk. Both are very delicious and refreshing while not being too sweet. For apps, we ordered egg rolls (5/5), "chicken" wings (5/5), and fried dumplings (4.5/5). Very delicious for the price point and being totally vegan! My drunken noodles were okay, but the pad Thai was the stand out for noodles. The eggplant with tofu was delicious, as was the fried rice. The pineapple fried rice was good and they didnt skip out on the pineapple or cashew and the portion size was good. The glass noodles were good and had more noodles than most places, even my husband who usually doesn't go for glass noodles as his first choice found it scrumptious lol. The dessert banana rolls were bigger than most thai places which was nice but i suggest eating it immediately, even thogh thry put the ice cream in a big of ice which was really cute but the contrast of the warm rolls and the cold ice cream was nice. Have I found the perfect replacement for my #1 go to vegan Thai spot?? My review is solely based on the food itself as I've never dined in, having only ordered through Uber eats about 3 times now. I've tried a variety of dishes, always being left desiring I had ordered more. Their Kow Soi is a well spiced curry with perfectly cooked veggies, noodles, your choice of meat, and delicate garnishes to top of the dish. Definitely a must try item. 9/10 Classified as a warm salad, their tofu larb hits almost all the tastes of sweet, salty, and a little spicy, with a bit of grainy rice powder and lemongrass that gives the dish a nice minty Fragrance . A top second must try! 8.5/10 Now for the dish that sits on a pedestal, the winner-winner-chicken-dinner- is their mango sticky rice. Do you know how difficult it is to find a restaurant that can actually nail this sweet delicate dessert on a perfect 10/10 rating??? Well they do it. Sweet mango, perfectly sticky and well cooked rice, with more than enough yummy coconut sauce, ugh I die for this dessert. And they are never skimpy on the sauce, they always pay attention to my notes asking for extra sauce. 10/10 My only unfortunate experience is with their fresh rolls, which is why I bring it down to 4 stars. Again, I am HUGE on sauce. Whatever dish I get, I need to know that the sauce it is paired with completes the dish, and doesn't overpower or under compensate. The fresh rolls themselves are good! But their peanut sauce is a disappointment. Too spicy, too little, and not enough peanut flavor. I think the chili's they add into it numb your tongue and make it inedible. 4/10. What a sweet spot! With only a few tables for seating, an interior adorned in faux flowers and an extremely relaxing vibe, this vegan joint is delightful. We arrived at about 9:20 pm and there was a steady stream of both pick up and dine in customers, that's because the food is so damn good that people needed it before closing. My group tried the garlic chix wings and I'm already craving another batch; they were crispy, savory, slightly sweet, and the very bite was delicious. The chix teriyaki (also fried) plate was a bounty of flavor and veg including edamame, cabbage, and broccoli, so yummy I can't stand it.
