I've walk past this block of stores in Hollywood very often and didn't realize that Samata Vegan House was here. A vegan friend and I had time to grab lunch before going to the movies. I was trying to find a vegan restaurant that she hadn't been to before. So after googling we both hadn't been to Samata Vegan House. I was shock that we found street parking immediately and there wasn't a wait to sit down and eat. The restaurant is very intimate and is open for lunch and dinner. Five or six 2 seater tables. The hostess was amazing and friendly. There were international customers and local neighborhood diners as well. There was a board with meal options of the day. This place is 100% vegan. Even the Thai iced tea is made with nut milk options. I ordered the red curry...very spicy and with brown rice. Great food, amazing service. YES, I will go back again and again!

Came here for lunch with a friend and had a lovely time! The restaurant is located on a busy street and despite being really small, it was easy to find! The staff were so friendly and helpful in deciding what to order. I also love how they have a sign that says their most ordered/most loved items. My friend opted for a curry while I went with the Hell Fire Chicken, which sounded unique and delicious! The food came out pretty quickly, but not worryingly so, where it tasted freshly made but allowed us to not spend too long there, as we were attending a screening down the street! My friend loved his curry and said it was perfectly spiced while I similarly found mine to be very flavorful and I really loved the garlic and homemade brown sauce. It was a great combination of slight sweetness with a long of tang! The chicken had an excellent texture and was chewy on the outside and soft on the inside. The veggies were sautéed to perfection to have their own crispiness. I had a Thai ice tea with oat milk, which was decadent and rich while being nice and refreshing. It balanced the flavors and spice of the dish so well! The ambiance was quaint and the seating was comfy. They really make great use of the space and manage to fit a few tables without it feeling too crowded! Parking was really easy on the side streets in the surrounding neighborhood and there are also meters available on Highland. Coming here was such a treat, especially since I had no idea they existed! I will definitely be back to try more of their delectable menu items and will for sure get the Thai iced tea again!

This location is very small but quaint. There are roughly 5 tables in the entire place. Luckily we didn't have to wait for a table nor did anyone else over the time we spent there--but we did arrive early around 4:30pm. The bathroom was quite small but I was glad they at least had one. The waitress that helped us was super nice and knowledgeable. I tried both the Tom Yum Wings, Drunken Noodles and my friend's Curry Noodles with medium spice. I'd say next time I'd rather get the curry noodles over drunken but the drunken weren't bad--just a little sweet for my taste. I'd be open to coming here again to try other dishes.

Best vegan Thai food spot. Apart from the great food their drinks are so fresh and flavorful! The service is always more than great! The owner is so kind and proactive. The ambience is warm and cozy.

Ordered through Postmates. Fully vegan Thai restaurant. I opted to get the Thai Green Curry and Spicy Eggplant. Thai green curry - delicious and has the green curry flavor, but it was a little saltier than the thai green curry I normally have. They don't skimp on the veggies and I ended up not being able to finish them. Spicy eggplant - delicious if you like eggplant! It's just a mix of eggplant pieces, assorted vegetables, and your choice of protein. Overall, I'd say it's pretty on-par with the other (many) vegan thai places in the area. It's nothing to write home about, but you can't go wrong here.

Loved the Thai food here. Everything here is vegan and tasty. The decor is beautiful and the host was especially attentive. Checked in on us to see how everything tastes and if the penang curry was too spicy. My daughter would not have said anything of she hasn't checked and yes it was a tad too spicy. They remade it for her without question and I'm 10 minutes she had a new milder version that was perfect. The pad keeps mao was exactly what I wanted today. I compare it to a slightly spicy version of pad see ew with more vegetables. Again, very tasty and would get again without hesitation. Vegetarians and vegans should definitely add Samata as one of their stops in L.A.

Very lovely food and lovely service! The mango was very fresh and the noodles were the perfect texture.

We stopped in late last night and the owner was so welcoming. It's a cozy place with music and pretty decor. We ordered the dirty Thai tea with coconut milk and Thai tea with coconut milk. Both are very delicious and refreshing while not being too sweet. For apps, we ordered egg rolls (5/5), "chicken" wings (5/5), and fried dumplings (4.5/5). Very delicious for the price point and being totally vegan! My drunken noodles were okay, but the pad Thai was the stand out for noodles. The eggplant with tofu was delicious, as was the fried rice. We will be coming back!!

Really good food and clean! I love their Thai tea ! The best one ! Love the woman who served me - really nice place

Food 3/5: pad thai with tofu did not have much flavor in my opinion, and the dish looked exactly like Salaya's for my husband's dish Khao Mun Gai. I think this place wanted to be like Salaya but didn't quite match the food quality. Service 5/5 Ambiance 3/5: It's a cozy looking place, fairly small, but cute.

Comfortable and considerate service. Food was wonderful. We would love to eat here a couple times a week if we lived closer. A must try if you like Thai food.

What seemed like a deceptively simple bowl was one of the most delicious and flavorful meals I've had - I'll be thinking about my bowl for a long time. I got the plain kalgaksu, mainly because it included pork potstickers. The anchovy broth isn't fishy (which I was concerned about), it's deep and full in a way that's hard to describe. It penetrates the noodles and potatoes well. The broth is similar if not the same between most bowl types. The cold noodles were also delicious, which a couple of my friends ordered. Quite large portions, as just about everyone had to take some home. They also have bibimbap if you're craving a rice based meal instead. I can't wait to come back - maybe not on a Saturday night next time so I don't have to look so long for parking!

It's a huge space that gave more industrial vibe to me than traditional Taiwanese theme, but it's totally a very convenient dining spot for both small and big group. We tried some from the menu and were pleased by all of them. They might look small but very filling actually since all the bowls were filled to top. The Dan Dan noodles have flavorful peanut sauce with it perfect noodles texture. Would recommend add extra sides for proteins, which we opted for pork belly and minced pork. The belly was extremely tender with thick juicy slices. The minced pork was equally palatable. They're generous in portion for being sides, we even packed some home. We obviously didn't skip their Hakka Mochi for dessert, which were still warm chewy yet moist when served and covered in overflowing black sesame and peanut powder. I wasn't usually a fan of black sesame but decided to give this one a try anyway and ending up no regrets at all! The powder was such spoiling mix of sweet and salty in one bite.

Dashi was VERY good. Generous amount of grated daikon. Assort. Tempura: Saw this being served while waiting. Looked really good and it WAS! Large shiitake mushroom. Fan cut Japanese eggplant, kabocha pumpkin, shrimp tempura & two (2) shiso leaves. All VERY crisp not oily. Warm dashi side had deep umami rich flavor. Probably made the legit kombu & bonita flake method. #1 ordered the Miso carbonara: garlicky carbonara served with their signature house-rolled out udon. Wonderful dish.
