Sesame chicken
Syd G.

In town visiting a relative and he wanted to take us here. It was an unusually warm summer evening and their a/c doesn't quite keep up. However, it wasn't too bad. I just like a little more air. The service was top notch! It's a family owned restaurant and they really take care of their customers. The rice comes separately so keep that in mind. I had the sesame chicken and the house fried rice. Really good. I would definitely come back.

Beef with broccoli lunch special with pork fried rice and chicken fingers.

The Chinese was delish!! We ordered the beef with broccoli lunch special. I was surprised to see they offered the lunch special on a Sunday. The meal was 11 dollars and change and came with a heaping serving of pork fried rice, three chicken fingers, and beef with broccoli. The broccoli was so good and fresh and the meat was very tender and tasty. We also got an order of beef teriyaki sticks and egg rolls. The egg rolls were superb and the beef sticks were quite sweet. Maybe a little too sweet for our liking. The service was fast and the meals came out within ten minutes. We dined inside in a booth. There are bottles of duck sauce and hot mustard on each table. I love that they don't limit guests on their sauces. We ordered a few sushi rolls and they were just okay. We'd probably skip the sushi next time and get more of the hot foods. Can't wait to go back next time we're back in the area!!

a menu for a chinese restaurant

Tucked away in a strip mall, set back from Route 1, it's an easy restaurant to miss. But a Facebook group alerted me about it, so in I went. Two rooms, one a Chinese restaurant and the other a sports bar with sushi. Some old school Chinese decor, but understated. Combo plates made things easy for a weekday lunch. Substitutions are allowed for a $2.25 charge; add-ons can be had for $3.95. I tried a sweet and sour chicken combo with egg roll ($9.95), adding on boneless ribs for an extra $3.95. Well worth it. Egg Roll: Looked industrial strength, but it had quality. Good crunch outside and in, with fresh tasting cabbage and some pork and scallions for flavor. Sweet and Sour Chicken: Only four pieces but fairly big and decent meat-to-batter ratio. Interestingly, with the sauce served in a bowl on the side, allowing you to dunk, drizzle, of neither. A thin sauce with minimal punch, but the typical sweetness. Boneless Ribs: Nice bright red glaze and good volume, but kinda dry. Fried rice: Not the darkest, not the lightest. Not bad, not remarkable. Definitely above average. I wanna give a 3.5. Rounding up to 4 based on pricing, flexibility, and friendliness of staff. But think of it as a 3.5.

Expensive sushi special

Service is friendly, everyone e seems to know Andy, the owner. The prices are reasonable, especially for lunch. However, they are not flexible with substitution. If you want a specific beef dish, you need to get a chicken wing. The food is average, the restaurant is cozy, and the location is convenient. I tried the sushi lunch, it was good but expensive, small, and I left hungry.

We researched Sushi near us and it led us here. Pretty busy in there. Great Atmosphere. And nice decor! We were greeted and sat. Ordered 3 Rolls and 1.app App was wontons.in spicy peanut sauce. IT WAS PHENOMENAL!!! Not what we expected. Wonton were pillowy soft melt in your mouth warm Bite of heaven. Topped with crunchy bean sprouts! Great compliment to the dish. As it acts as a cleanser. That was our favorite part of the whole meal. The 3 Sushi Rolls came in a close 2nd.! Forgot what kind of Rolls we got. One had cream cheese. One had mango. The waiter was quick on his feet. Attentive to the guests. And the woman server put the cherry on top with her wit, charm, and humor.

Shrimp udon

Generous servings and delicious food! Ordered the miso soup and shrimp udon both excellent

While I'm not exactly the most familiar with the food scene in Portland, I do have some level of…read morefamiliarity with authentic Chinese cuisine, and I can say with the utmost confidence that Sichuan Kitchen is some of the best I've tasted thus far. The restaurant is small, relatively quiet and decorated nicely. The service was very friendly. The menu seems to be very focused, showcasing a handful of shareable plates, vegetarian items, rice/noodle dishes and entrees with authentic Szechuan flavors. Boyfriend got spicy noodles and I got braised beef noodles. We also got a side of their homemade chili oil, and in response to this the server asked us if we wanted our meals to be extra spicy. How could we turn that offer down? As soon as that bowl of noodle soup came out, I knew I was in for a great meal. It smelled intoxicating. It was the angriest shade of red possible, which is exactly what I like to see when I'm eating something supremely spicy. The broth and chili oil were both full of flavor, the beef was tender and the noodles had a delightfully chewy texture. Taking everything into account, Sichuan Kitchen served me one of the most memorable dishes I've ever had. There's really no other way to put it. If you're in the area and you find yourself craving the authentic numbing spicy flavors of Szechuan Chinese food, Sichuan Kitchen is the answer.

The interior is pleasant with decorative paper lanterns on the ceiling giving the impression of "pillowy clouds". My two sons enjoyed the Zhong Dumplings (delicious mix of sweet and savory), which was the highlight of the meal. We also had 2 orders of the soup noodles with minced pork and 1 order of the braised beef noodles. A dish we shared was the fried green beans (which was very tasty). However, the soup dishes were slightly too salty. Also, the quantity of beef was slightly less than I had expected. That said, the service was attentive, and excellent (before the 6pm rush). Overall, we enjoyed our meal and would dine here again.

We start off with table noodles and dip them in a mix of duck sauce and hot mustard. We always get the pu pu platter for 2 and it has more than enough food for the three of us (we always have leftovers). It comes with spare ribs, breaded chicken tenders, chicken wings, crab Rangoon, beef teriyaki, chicken teriyaki, and spring rolls. I recommend getting a side of the sweet and sour sauce for the breaded chicken tenders. We also get a side order of the pork fried rice, lo mein, and my mom gets the wonton soup. My dad also gets the scorpion bowl for 2. All the food is amazing and we've never had a bad experience here. Even the water tastes amazing! I wish the cashew chicken didn't have celery. If you dine in you have a choice of soup ( egg drop or hot/sour soup). I asked for no celery over the phone but they added celery still. Portion size is small compared to rice and had the same with bigger portion and more flavor at the Framingham location I've had the lunch special and other dishes at the Framingham location and prefer Framingham over this location. Service was quick and not a bad deal for $14 after tax. It is busy in there and if you aren't a spice fan make sure to ask for modifications. The cashew chicken is not spicy.

Even when it's busy though (which is almost every time we go - but it is lively and has a good atmosphere), our service is solid, they are quick to take our orders, clear plates, bring food out, and refill water! The food we ordered was fresh, hot, and delicious! Only gripe is that the portions aren't the largest for the price (definitely priced a bit higher than comparable asian restaurants I've been to), but if you're craving authentic food and are in the area, this is the spot!
