Always a delightful burgers at this location. It's counter service so pretty much no-frills. The orders go in fast and come out quickly. A lot of people enjoy the french fries but I'm not necessarily a big fan. Don't expect crispy fries. A bit soggy tho tasty. Definitely a place to hit once in a while as you drive through York. We have been going to Maine for vacation for the last 15 years or so, and have driven by Wild Willys many times without ever stopping here. This year we decided to try it. The restaurant is on the smaller side, but clean. They have indoor and outdoor seating, and we chose to eat outside. The staff was friendly, the food was decent, but nothing I would drive out of my way for. The biggest negative would be the location of the restrooms, they are in the basement, and you have to watch your head or you'll bash it on a low beam. read more

We only got the fries which I wish now that we got the poutine because I didn't realize how good the fries were going to be until we got them. Wanted to get a bison burger like I did before but they happened to be out today. Their Pineland Farms Natural Beef patties made for some tasty burgers though! I think the quality and grass fed aspect and knowing you are supporting a local farm make it worth the upgrade cost honestly! Eat here all the time when I'm near York Beach. The Willy Burgers are amazingly good. However at one point the burger didn't taste as good not sure what happened but after going back in about 2mos the burger was back to it's great taste. First time trying this small spot on the side of Route 1. It doesn't look special on the outside, but you walk up and see all the specials hand written on the board with different kinds of fresh lemonades and other drinks. You go inside to a find a very homey feel to it surrounded by locals eating lunch or getting food to go. I ordered the bubba BBQ burger, rodeo burger along with an order of regular and Cajun fries. To wash it all down a root beer float with delicious root beer on tap! Price for everything wasn't bad at all relative to all the food you get. They have multiple hot sauces with a range of spice from roasted garlic to Caroline reaper! The staff is great and very friendly, you sit where you'd like and they bring the food out to you. They have an outdoor sitting section which was perfect for the hot day we went. The burgers were massive and delicious, I got my burger cooked medium rare and it was cooked perfectly! The fries were crispy and fluffy, but my favorite were the Cajun seasoning. It had a little kick but I couldn't stop eating them. Incredible. Everything tasted so fresh! The hand cut fries are perfect. Literally perfect. And they have white vinegar on the table! For locals, this may not be a big deal, but for this East Coast Canadian who lives in New Jersey, it's so great to discover. The gluten free buns are so good my 11-year-old was like "Are you sure these are gluten free mom?" The lemonade is not too sweet and pleasantly tangy. And the burger itself was juicy and flavorful. We came because of the great reviews. They did not disappoint us! Wild Willy's is a much loved by the locals (parking lot full at 3:30pm) burger restaurant. The place was clean, the staff was friendly and the food was outstanding. My hubby and I both had the "Gabby", a grilled chicken sandwich with mayo. The bun was soft and the chicken breast was moist and tender. The fries were hand cut, fried and awesome. Up in York, Maine going around to some Antique shops and stopped into Wild WIlly's Burgers to grab something to eat before heading back to Boston to pick our kid up from college. We're not from up here and had no idea what to expect. The parking lot was crowded so figured it must be good. The place is very cute and rustic looking and they actually had a few parking spots up front for veterans, which was really cool and my husband, being an old US Navy guy, took a spot. =) Thank you for your service, Veterans! We were greeted straight away upon entering and asked if we had eaten with them before (guess they could tell we were not locals - lol). They explained the rundown and we took a seat at one of the booths up front. I got the "Gabby" chicken sandwich with lettuce, tomato, and honey mustard and the handcut fries with cheese, which I didnt even need, because they have vinegar automatically on the tables (Love it!). OMG the chicken sandwich was fantastic! Sauce was on my hands, my mouth, everywhere, but I didnt care because it was scrumptous. They had one of those big napkin boxes on the table so there was plenty of wiping going on. LOL I also got their old fashion root beer float (which they warned me when they brought it over that it would expand so I had to watch out or it would overflow) - it was sooooo delicious and I handled it like a champ, no spillage. My husband had the Willy Burger (Tender Bison) which is a Classic American burger with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, mustard, ketchup, pickles, and mayo. Pretty disappointing experience. We were overcharged for the hot dogs just because we wanted them without cheese, and when we mentioned it to the person taking our order, they didn't seem to care. I recently visited Wild Willy's Burger on Route 1 in York, ME. I was with a friend who has an ADA service dog and recently moved here from Reno, NV. The food was great and the service was great when ordering. My problem was with the woman cleaning the table. I asked before ordering, if the service dog could be inside and the response was yes. I proceeded to sit a table and my friend followed. When the woman (I think Deana) starts going off that the dog had to be outside. She berated me and my friend in front of other customers. I told her we asked and were told it was ok. She stormed off to check with the front staff and said that was not correct, read the sign. My friend was uncomfortable and chose to sit outside and I followed and told the woman this was certainly not appropriate. I am not talking about a comfort dog. It is a protected service dog protected under the American Disability Act. If we were told this from the beginning, we would have sat outside. We were not trying to break rules. I owned a small business previously in my life and feel bad, since one employee was having a bad day and decided to take it out on us. Unfortunately, it ruined my meal and I didn't finish it. To the owner, this is not personal. Your burgers, fries and all your other help were great. All it takes is one bad apple. I would like to correct the woman busing the tables. No, a restaurant generally cannot refuse a customer accompanied by a service animal under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The ADA mandates that businesses open to the public, including restaurants, must allow service animals in areas where customers are normally allowed. Reasons why a restaurant cannot refuse a service animal: Legal Requirement: The ADA prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities, and this includes refusing access to service animals. Public Accommodation: Restaurants are considered public accommodations and must adhere to ADA guidelines.
