We stopped in for lunch and was immediately greeted and seated. All the decor is pickle themed and they also sell T-shirts and merchandise. The fried pickles were amazing and the burger I had-Swiss and mushroom, was cooked to perfection! My friend also had a burger and she LOVED it! It's made with 100% real beef. We have been to so many restaurants all over US but had the worse experience here. The waitress was horrible, we asked to be seated outside and she forced us to sit inside. The food was delayed and we waited for 45 mins to an hour. My two kids started getting uneasy. Then I requested the waitress if we can be seated outside as my two kids can play, they have games outside. She said that we have to pay before we go outside as if we are going to run away with food. To my surprise, outside was all empty. I asked the waitress again, that there is hardly anyone outside then why didn't you let us sit outside earlier. She said that you have to pay before sitting outside. I could we could have paid too but that's a weird condition and it seems like she was judging us based upon our appearance. read more

Got here at 12:35, put us down for party of 8 and were told 30-45 minutes. We got passed over by everybody in line and whoever came after us until finally, after waiting 1hr 15minutes we were seated at a table with 6 chairs, so we pulled two more over. It's now 2:20pm and we are still waiting for food. Just like the wait, we are watching everybody get food even the tables that came in way after us. So been here almost 2 hours, might get fed eventually but won't ever come back. They've made us feel so unwelcomed. Update: Things got worse, all 8 of us, even the little kids were complaining about this experience. This place did us flat wrong, they should have been offering some kind of "good faith" 10% discount for making us wait at every juncture for 2.5 hours but instead we had an "admin. Fee of almost $4 and a bill that was changed AFTER I gave my credit and a $21 gratuity was added, mind you AFTER they gave us our original bill that didn't include this charge and AFTER they already had my Credit Card. My husband and I shared a weekend in the Granbury area a while back and decided to try The Green Pickle. I did not like how crowded it was and how nobody was wearing masks or anything, but I am not surprised considering it's a small town. They weren't extremely busy which really says something, so we didn't mind waiting a while for a table. The servers were very apologetic and seemed to know everybody, so it had a really nice comfortable small town feel. We ended up ordering a sample plate that contained fried green pickles, jalapeno poppers that had a cute name, and onion rings. Ironically, our least favorite were the fried green pickles but my husband loved the jalapenos and we both agreed that the onion rings were, hands-down, the best we've ever had. I'm pretty picky about my onion rings. My favorite used to be Sonic, then a pub close to us called Across the Pond. But now, the very best onion rings in the world are at The Green Pickle. The hamburgers were pretty good as well and the fries. Pretty standard pricing. We will definitely be back if we are in the area if nothing else but to get a basket of onion rings. read more

Stay away. Price gouging rip off who discriminate a FAMILY of 6 with 4 young children. We arrived at 2pm to be put on a waiting list...great. that is usually a sign of good food. 45 minutes later we were seated and order was taken only to start our hour long wait/hostage situation. We received our cold fries and cool burgers at approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes of waiting. After our famished children scarfed down their food in 15 minutes, we went to pay. This place is serious. Me and my family showed up on a Sunday for lunchtime and really enjoyed it! The service is top notch and the appetizers that we ordered (bottle caps, mozzarella sticks, and cream cheese poppers) were very good! I had the Mushroom Swiss burger and was not disappointed. Burger does a great job of staying in tact, and the buns are thinner and toasted. I will definitely be coming back. 10/10 read more

Oh this was sooo yum! Thanks again to my Yelp peeps, we tried the Green Pickle while on a day trip to Glen Rose. It did not disappoint! We got the sampler appetizer with the fried pickles (best I've ever had!), onion rings (my 3 yo tore those up!) and the bottle caps (nothing super special but still yummy!). My 3 yo had the fries and chicken tender...he loved the fries and tore up 2 of the 3 tenders (the last one was a bit over fried and hard). My husband had the Bacon Blue Chipotle burger. He really enjoyed it and licked his fingers at the end! I had the green Chile burger. I liked that they put the Chile whole on the burger instead of chopping it up. I got Chile in every bite! It tasted like a homemade Whataburger-but BETTER! The buttered bun was the key! We will definitely go back on our next trip to Glen Rose! read more

My wife and I stopped in here looking for some wifi so we could do some work while we were traveling. We both had burgers, she had fries while I opted for the onion rings. The food was outstanding, fresh meat, buns and veggies on the burgers and the fries and onion rings are as good as it gets. The staff were very friendly and let us hang out on the patio/beer garden to work even though they weren't serving there. Excellent Burgers, half a pound of juiciness !! Soft fresh rolls ! Only thing I would say is don't serve mustard as a standard with the burger, it really ruins the taste of an awesome burger. My daughter did not see this and her mushroom burger came with mustard smeared on the bun ....tasted bitter The Chipole is the hottest burger yummy... Today as we were passing through after a lovely day trip to the "Dinosaur Valley State Park". We stopped by "The Green Pickle" for a late lunch. First Impression: cozy, small, dirty, dysfunctional, community oriented, stingy. When we sat down the waiter made her way to our table and jotted down our drink order. Service was pretty much downhill from there. :( It didn't take very long to receive our meals. 15-20 min. max. Hot Wings: Very disappointing, I found them to be super soggy and very bland. But on the upside perfect heat both taste and temperature. Fried Pickles: Super spicy, and very grainy texture. I expected much more from a restaurant named after pickles. Also would have maybe overlooked it they canned their own pickles or something cool like that. Bacon Cheeseburger: Very good burger! Wasn't too greasy like other reviewers noted. But... I would have liked the meat to be better quality.
