This place is terrible in many ways!! I would give 0 stars if I could. First, the staff have no idea what they are doing. Many times my order has been wrong or I am waiting over 30 mins for carry out when my food is sitting at the table or they have forgotten my order. Second, the management does not get involved but sit at the back table. Third, when they got my order wrong, they were meant to refund me and a charge my card again. Instead, they just charged my card again and I have still not received a credit on my card from 2 months ago... BAD service, OK food, management doesn't care if customers return or not. For lunch, I prefer the Grand location. When I order from this location, I'm never sure what I'm going to get. This time, I had to wait on the line for at least 5 minutes while the waitress served a customer before taking my order. They gave the wrong straws for the drinks I ordered. I ordered a Taiwanese Sausage meal that comes with sliced garlic, but the garlic pieces in the lunchbox were old, yellow and translucent...and no, they weren't pickled. This by far is my favorite Ten Ren. It's close to home, the drinks are great (sometimes it's made too sweet at other places) and customer service is very attentive and friendly. This location also serves alcohol (beer and some) and has a couple of big screen TVs so you can catch up with your friend and watch sports games too. The food here is also pretty decent. I've seen a lot of families come here to have lunch and dinner here. It can actually be pretty busy here with people eating, buy if you are taking your drinks and food to go it's always pretty fast. It's also not a bad place if you want to get your study on. If you're looking for a no fuss and chill tea place this is a great spot to go to. read more

I like going to this Ten Ren's because it's one of the more spacious ones and usually has less of a crowd because of its location away from the busy areas. Servers are super nice! One of my go to places for lunch since it is close to work. This Ten Ren location is in the same plaza with Pieology, Starbucks, and other stores. Parking can be a little tough around the lunch hour, but if you're okay with a little walk there is plenty of parking further away from the restaurants. I usually get the Green Milk Tea with Boba. This location can make your drinks rather quickly, sometimes I would even call in my order so that it is already made when I'm there. When this location gets packed, it gets quite jammed inside. The line forms in the middle of seating sections, so it can be a bit weird. Sometimes I felt that I was just in the way of the workers or other customers. read more

If your place is called Ten Ren's Tea Time, your tea better excel a regular boba shop's tea. Not the case. Most food and snacks here are pretty tasty. My favorite are the braised pork belly and the sukiyaki joy pot, as well as the plum sweet potato fries, but their milk tea dissapoints in any of its variations (regular milk tea, roasted oolong milk tea, hokkaido milk tea, etc...). The tea is way too watered down. Even Boiling Point's milk teas are better and they are not even a tea shop. Anyway, I like the taro teazer though, as it has chunks of taro. Makes me feel like I am not just drinking milk with raro flavored powder. read more

Got the Taiwanese Sausage snack but it was SO COLD in there that the dish cooled very quickly. Sweet and salty but nothing amazing. TV: There are TVs with some games going on. There are 2 different Ten Rens about a mile apart in Walnut. This one on Lemon/Valley, is bigger and nicer on the inside, yet not nearly as good as the one on Grand/Valley. They have messed up my order almost everytime I come here and their Boba Milk Teas are far less sweet according to my kid's taste buds.. I like the Black Sugar Blended Ice-Tea. I came in 10 minutes before closing time (midnight) and saw the girl at the register wearing rubber gloves, cleaning up. I asked her if they're still open and she was hesitant to give me an answer. I asked again and told her I'm going to take my drink to go at which point she reluctantly said she'll take my order. Not a very warm reception here, you don't have to smile but at least don't make it so obvious you don't want me there! My mom has been getting a cup of green tea with boba to go everyday since I was ten so almost two decades now. Since this TenRen's opened, it's been my parents go to place when I'm not home and our go to place when I am home. Lately, service has not been too great at most of the TenRen's due to what I believe is either a lack of training for the recent hires or lack of shame of the recent hires. Today, my mom went to pick up to go for me since I told her I was coming home for dinner last minute. My mom ordered dry noodles and green tea and boba for me and the cashier gave my mom one tiny sauce cup of boba. This is the conversation between her and my mom: Mom: Hi, sorry but don't you guys normally give two mini cups of boba to go? Cashier: No, we don't. Those people must do it wrong. Mom: I've been getting this for over ten years and I've always gotten two cups when to go. Cashier: Well, I've been working here for ten years and I've never seen that happen. Mom: The other TenRen's in Walnut always gives two cups too though. Cashier: Then why don't you go over there. Okay, I'll stop here because what the fu?? First of all, there's so many rude things I can say, but I won't stoop that low because that obviously doesn't apply to the general population, just her. Second of all, what ever happened to the customer is always right? Third, but not least, what happened to showing people some respect? I went with a friend for some dinner and drinks~ We were greeted immediately and got to a seat. Chose what we want and the waitress jot it down and went off to place our order. And there we were, ya just a pair, waiting for our meal :/ We couldn't help but notice the super fast service the others were getting who came and order waaaay after we have. And our order wasn't complicated. It also took awhile to flag down waitresses. I had asked one if we pay at the register and to split checks, and she said okay and that she'd bring it to us. We sat there like dummies waiting for almost 30 minutes. Luckily we enjoyed each other's company, but we sure were quietly annoyed and fed up with this place. Food was meh, their popcorn chicken wasn't anything to wow about, AND the portion for a regular size is too small for the price you pay. Drink was good and the brick toast. My friend was okay with her chicken. It was so embarrassing to me when my friend notices the bad service and blames herself for being non-Asian. Thanks a lot. Never coming to this location again. Hoping the other locations are better and don't play favorites with pairs versus groups, or avoid us just cause I bring one of my non-Asian friends :/ And don't give me that "busy hour" excuse. I don't know why they need so many Ten Ren's but I guess I can't really complain since I enjoy having the extra hangout spot! The drinks here are good, but they also have the same problem as every other Ten Ren's; the drinks are always unbearably sweet. I always ask for 1/4 the amount of sugar. Ten Ren's Tea Time has always been a favorite restaurant of mine because they have so many asain food selections there and beverages you can choose from. Also, the pricing for each item seems reasonable for what you are ordering. When you first walk in there is a little dispenser which you can try a new drink they have come out with, which is nice because you can sample it to see if you like it and order it, and my favorite part is you can choose to add boba in it or not. One more plus is that their is toner service is great they come by every so often to ask if everything is okay and if your enjoying the food so far. Overall restaurant is great and a great place to go with your family and friends to eat. read more

I randomly passed by this location one day driving to Chick-fil-a. It surprised me because I wasn't expecting another Ten Ren right there since they have one on Valley and Grand. One night, my family was craving boba so instead of going to our usual Tea Station or Half and Half, we decided to come here. It was quite packed for a Wednesday night. I've been here at least 8 times for food. The location is weird, and hard to access because of the way the car entrance on the street is positioned. The other Ten Ren on Grand is a lot easier to get to. However, the Popcorn Chicken here is superior. You get more chicken than any other place I've been too. I've also tried the salt and pepper tofu, the wonton soup, and the boiled tea eggs. All good stuff, all really cheap. If you don't mind driving just a little bit more for better food, try out this place. Still, whoever thought that this would be a good location probably made a really big mistake. read more

I go to TenRien for lunch. I get a menu, and I ask to order. She gives me a weird look and says we have to use order sheets. (Like AYCE Sushi) I write "1" next to pork and rice, "1" next to poping fish balls my buddy orders beef and egg on rice. Give her the sheet then ask to order a drink, then she flips the sheet over and I have to write my drink order down too. So I'm like OK fuck it. This place is fucking lazy, I'll write down my own damn order. She repeats the entire order which was mostly correct, had to clarify I wanted large and half sweet on the drink (WHICH MIND YOU, IS NOT A FUCKING OPTION ON YOUR FUCKING ORDER FORM) 10 mins pass- fish balls comes 20 mins pass- drinks comes and beef and eggs over rice come 35 min and a meeting later I'm hungry and ask for my food. I see the person that took my order and the girl that brought our drinks talking, confused. I've done fucking had it by now. I call her back, explained it's fine, I can tell she didn't put it in the system to the kitchen. I asked to pay for my tab and leave. She has the nerve to tell me the food only takes 2 minutes to prep... oh golly. Two stars is because it's Ten Ren. I'll NEVER come back to this location, and it will take strong will to go to the one next to my house in Monterey Park. Three Cups Tofu (san bei tofu)- kind of like Three cups chicken but substituted with tofu instead... SOO GOOD!!! very very flavorful.. maybe need to eat it with rice or noodles.. MmMmM! Me and my boyfriend come here to study often cause it's near my house. Food and drinks are good, I usually get the iced milk drink or love potion #6 with aloe. The green milk tea is good too! Joypot is always a good choice for food. If i get a rice meal I always substitute for dry noodles, those are da besttt. This Ten Ren's is pretty big and spacious. They also serve alcohol here! I came in and got a Rose Milk Tea with boba, it tasted kinda sour and sweet with bits of rose petals in it. I didn't like the flavor at all but they were happy enough to change the drink for me since I didn't like it. I got a regular boba milk tea instead, it tasted way better! Even though there are other ten rens in the area, this is the only one I go to. That's because there is alcohol served in this one. What better place to go when you're craving tea and want to get your buzz on. Though I wish they had a full-bar; beer and soju will suffice for this relatively conservative area. I watch predominantly of my Laker games here and the crowd have been more or less Laker fans. That is a good thing. Other than that, the food is what you typically find at a ten rens. First time at this location, they just recently opened. They had balloons and a wheel that you could spin for discounts, gifts, etc. This is their 2nd location in the Walnut area. This is similar to the Ten Ren off Grand Avenue. This location is larger though and they serve alcohol. There are several large screen tv's with sports (basketball when I was there) and food flashing across the screens. The food is the same. The service was faster than the other locations, probably because of the number of servers available. Not typical of the Ten Ren's I have visited, usually service is slower. The food came out really fast. I like going to Ten Ren's for their iced coffees, teazer drinks, and for late night snacks. Good start, will be back. :) read more

Since I work in the same plaza, this is a very convenient place to grab lunch to-go. The service is excellent, compared to every other Ten Ren's I've been to. All the staff are very nice. The wait time for food/drinks is very fast, compared to other Ten Ren's. The menu has a lot of choices. The lunch & dinner specials are awesome because it includes $1 milk tea....SCORE!
