I like red wine a ton. I also own a white couch. Sometimes, not always but sometimes, I get a little clumsy and my love of red wine meets my clumsy self and the white couch pays the price. This day, I spilled almost an entire glass of red wine on my white couch. I called and emailed several places. Most of them said there is nothing they can do...one even showed up and made the stain worse. But these guys were confident they could get the stain out and they did!! Almost 100% back to normal. When others said they couldn't do a thing. With all the options out there make no mistake this is the best. Marc was very kind and efficient, they accommodated some awkward scheduling that my life is on, I was only able to provide them weird windows of time for rug evaluation and pick up and they worked in that and kept me updated via phone calls whenever time changed. He was able to work in my budget to get the services needed to bring my rug back to life because I honestly thought my rug was completely toast. A coffee stain + water damage + stiffness + waiting too long to get the rug in. Despite everything looking really bad they returned the rug (a white rug!!) looking clean and fresh, no way could you tell where the stains used to be. I was looking for a couch cleaner in the Crown Heights area and Green Solutions popped up! I had a really positive experience and would definitely call them again in the future. Zach was very quick to respond to my initial emails and gave me a quote ahead of time after I emailed some photos of my couch. I was even able to make a next-day appointment. Mark and his work partner (whose name I feel horrible about forgetting) were extremely friendly! They arrived promptly at 11am (window was 11am-1pm) and the service only took about 25 minutes total. I would use them again. I had an 80 inch sofa from the late 60s which was stained with wine, oil, ink and accumulated dirt. I hired Green Solutions due to a deal on Amazon and good Yelp reviews. Ended up, the Amazon deal was only for synthetic fabrics, and since mine was a mix of synth & natural fibers, I had to pay $131 to clean it. To make a long story short, they could be easier to get in touch with via email or phone, but all in all, it worked out. They tried their best (even returned for a second go at tough stains) and also cleaned two small 100% wool rugs of mine for no additional charge. The process was noisy and the smell lingered for a couple of hours. My couch looks a lot better, although the oil and ink is still visible (not as bad as before). MY ADVICE: Check your fabric so no surprises and don't let them go until you've taken a look at the results. read more

I initially made calls to multiple places including Green Solutions and from the time I spoke to Zach he was so pleasant, so patient and very efficient. He gave me options and also told me to email my carpet problems to him. I got so busy that I had forgotten all about Zach and then he called me to check in with me. Edit: They saw my review, gave me a call, and offered to make things right. I haven't taken advantage of it yet, but that's an extra star for sure. Not bad. 3.5. They came and picked up my rug that had a coffee spill. I had managed to get the stain out myself, but it had seeped in deeper and the rug had become stiff and crusty at the spill site. They quoted about a week but after the 2 week mark, I hadn't heard from them and called them up. I don't mind waiting extra because I'd rather they take their time and get the job done, but a phone call would have been nice. Sadly, they weren't able to get rid of the stiffness. I'd say a 50% improvement? Still very noticeable and stiff if you walk on that patch, but it was better. Wasn't worth the $130 paid since the main objective was not met, maybe worth half that. The rest of the rug came back nice and soft though. Good customer service overall. Could be a little more communicative about cleaning times. read more

After posting the previous review, I received a call from Zach who said that he wanted to make the situation right and would do everything they could to make sure we were happy. We scheduled a follow up cleaning for a few days later and they showed up right on time. Unfortunately, there was a situation with their machine but they worked hard to get it fixed and provide the deep clean service. They were able to completely get rid of the smell and also scotch guarded the sofa. With the odor-free sofa, I feel like I saved thousands of dollars now that I no longer need to replace it. I am completely happy with the service and also have no hesitations recommending them to anyone, knowing that they work hard to make sure all of their customers are happy! I am very happy with the service provided by Green Solutions. Zach in the main office is very helpful and gave me a great deal on carpet cleaning services for entire apt. The guys showed up earl due to a cancellation and were very communicative about when they would arrive. The two men moved the furniture around and cleaned the carpets fast and thoroughly. They explained everything to me and made sure to clean up after themselves. Also, I was given a discount for my next cleaning service. My only negative thing to say is that I was told the carpet would take about 4 or 5 hours for the carpet to dry. It took a lot longer than that. But overall I was happy with the service. These guys are great--they showed up early during our appointment window (10am-12noon and they showed up around 10:20), and Martin (I think his name was) explained the different rug cleaning options, and suggested the one he thought would be most appropriate for my rug. Since my rug was not very dirty, he was able to clean it right there. He helped me move furniture off it and then cleaned it--I think it took about 20 minutes. He explained that it might smell a bit (wool smells when it gets wet) and that I should let it dry for about 4-6 hours. I am very pleased with the results--the carpet is clean and it feels bouncy again--I feel like it has been brought back to life! One note: their website doesn't really work, you'll have to call to make an appointment. Mention the Yelp deal and they'll give it to you (actually, the deal is for any first-time user). Oh, I should mention, the carpet barely smelled after it was shampooed--I could only smell it when I put my face right up to it. So the smell was not an issue at all for me. read more

Even though Green Solutions told me that cleaning my rug would take 7-10 days, they picked up my rug on 2/26/18 and FINALLY returned it on 4/13/18, only after I wrote my original review. Trying to get in touch with them about the status or whereabouts of my rug was basically impossible. Although I have finally received my long overdue rug, this was the worst experience ever. If I could go back in time, I would throw my rug away and buy a new one, just to avoid dealing with this company. Do NOT purchase the Groupon for a 'Steam Cleaning of a Standard Sofa.' This is a scam. I have had businesses try to 'up-sell' me after they get me in the door with a Groupon before, but this was ridiculous. I purchased my Groupon for $19. This was supposed to cover steam-cleaning for a couch that is up to 6 feet in length. I called immediately to schedule my appointment with Green Solutions Carpet Cleaning, and spoke with Zach. Once I told him the couch was white cotton, he said that they could not do a steam-clean on a white couch. I told him it did not say that anywhere in the fine print of the Groupon, and he proceeded to tell me they only have so much space on the Groupon description to warn people of this fact. In actuality, they have plenty of space. In fact, they used 93 words in the fine print of the Groupon's description terms, none of which mention that, if you have a white couch, this Groupon would not be honored. He said he could offer a better cleaning, one that was more suitable for a white couch. I said I would send him pictures of the couch so that he could provide me with a quote for this, and before getting off the phone, I stated clearly and diplomatically that I was not happy with the fact that the Groupon was misleading. To say the man "jumped down my throat" is an extreme understatement. I am SHOCKED at how I was treated. I have never been met with such hostility from any business in any situation like this in my life. I was left shaking when I hung up the phone. I do not know if this man was just simply having a bad day, or if I was just the last in a string of many complaints about this obvious Groupon fraud, and he finally snapped. All I know is I have never been talked to that way. I let him finish his rant of screaming in my ear and, shocked, told him calmly that I would be emailing him photos, then hung up the phone, awestruck. Even though I was furious at the way I had been treated, I emailed him the photos to see if he would make good on his claim of giving me a discounted rate for whatever service *was* appropriate for my apparently-hard-to-clean couch. The answer came back via email: $200 plus tax for everything. I called Zach to discuss whether or not this was a discounted rate. I left him a voicemail and then didn't hear back for 2 days. Each day I called and politely left a new voicemail. I finally reached him on the third day, and tried to keep the conversation as calm as possible, for fear of being verbally assaulted again. I told him that I, unfortunately, could not afford that price, and that I would just need to try and get a refund for my Groupon. He told me he would "speak to management," and then came back with a price of $150, *after* discount. Let's just break this down: the Groupon offers a $139 service for $19. That's roughly an 86% discount. If he was honoring that same discount rate, as an honest business should, then that would mean the service required for the cleaning of my middle-of-the-road Ikea couch would retail for well over $1,000. Really? This company is incredibly dishonest in their approach to the Groupon situation. If they had a shred of decency, they would either (1) change the Groupon fine print, or (2) at least honor a similar discount to people who purchased this coupon while clearly not being aware it was not right for their situation. Most significantly, however, the extreme hostility displayed toward me the moment I expressed an ounce of dissatisfaction with the situation was deplorable and completely inexcusable. read more

The results and costumer service I received from Green solutions carpet was a mixed bag. The initial phone consultation was great and they recommended that they should pick up the rug and clean it at their factory, given the pet stains and damage to my rug. The pickup went well and Tommy was really very helpful, although his assistant spilled a lot of water from the carpet cleaning machine on my hardwood floor. Why he brought it in to my apartment given that it was a pickup is still unclear. The carpet and the padding was in their possession for 3 weeks for the first round of cleaning, twice as long as I was told they would need. During this time, I only received calls from them when they wanted to add on additional services, like redoing the back of the carpet and buying a new pad. They made these calls after a week of having my carpet at their factory. In fact, the price I was quoted for a new pad was twice as much as the price for a new pad through Pottery Barn. I declined both additional services. After about another 1.5 weeks, I called to get information about my rug and when it would be delivered. Delivery was scheduled. When I received it, I was very disappointed as it had a new stain and smelled worse than before it was cleaned. I called to complain and they scheduled another pickup to redo the rug. When they rolled up the rug it was clear that the carpet was not cleaned completely. There were still rings on the back of the rug. During the initial phone consultation I was told they would run through their system multiple times as needed to ensure it was cleaned. The spots on the back of the carpet told me otherwise. Two weeks after the second pickup, I again never heard anything, so I called to find out more info. A delivery was scheduled for the following week. Unfortunately they showed up an hour later for the delivery of the rug than they said they would. The carpet is finally clean with no rings on the back side, it doesn't smell and looks great, but it took a lot of hassle and frustration to get there. In addition to all this, I received only one confirmation call for the last appointment, none for the three preceding appointments. read more

All I can say is wow! These guys are very impressive. We had the pleasure of having Marc pick up our couch cushions onsite at our home (our little puppy had a big accident). Immediately upon entering our home he reviewed the damage and gave us a reasonable quote upfront. They were awesome about getting our cushions cleaned in a timely matter and dropping off during a time that worked for us- took about 4-5 days. Wow, what can I say?? They came earlier than they said they would, and explained the entire process of cleaning to me. Worked VERY fast, and meticulously. I thought it was gonna take like 3hrs cuz the carpet was very dirty, but with the equipment they brought, they got all the stains out in 25-30 mins. They were very honest with me about the wear/tear on my carpet, and that certain stains wouldn't fully come out because of age, and condition of carpet. The carpet was pretty beat up, but in my opinion it looks 1000% better than it did prior to cleaning. The room they did, I am planning to turn into a nursery, and I explained my concerns about dust. All my fears were relieved when I saw the carpet. Room smells better, the carpet is brighter. I have no complaints. I appreciated the honesty of rep, and the quality of work and speed of service. I feel like I got my money's worth and the price was very fair. I will definitely be using again. If you are wondering I live in a 2 room apt, and the size of the room they cleaned was 120 sq feet. Our new couch was just delivered today and as soon as I sat on it my eyes burned and I start to have breathing and sneezing issues. I know this reaction for me- I have sensitive allergies to chemicals, dust, dirt and animal dander. I know it wasn't animal dander as it was new but you never know what chemicals and dust or dirt got on this new couch in the factory and on it's way here. We needed it cleaned ASAP especially as we had guests coming the next day. We reached out to few eco and green carpet and steam cleaning companies. I got price quotes for a sofa and an area rug, $40 for the sofa and $20 for the rug. /i got an appointment. The guys just left and while I haven't sat on the clean couch yet (still wet!), I'm pretty impressed. There isn't a single stain left on a very old couch deeply abused by a very energetic dog. I had originally called these guys a week before my local deal expired, but the guys got here around 5 pm and my building wouldn't let them in. Even though the deal would expire before they could get back in to clean the couch, the guy on the phone still let us use the deal and was super apologetic about not making the first appointment even though it was MY fault for not knowing that my building had time restrictions on this kind of stuff. This time around, I booked a 1-3 pm appointment and they arrived promptly in that time frame. Totally professional and super friendly both on the phone and in person AND they do a super good job!
