Every now and then you come across a business that so exceeds your expectations that you are amazed. We had the ground floor suite, and it was perfect for me as I have some mobility issues. Plus very spacious suite, spotlessly clean, very top-grade appointments and amenities, fabulous shower, and beautiful art work. First time guests and we stayed in the Luna Vista Suite and all I can say it was one of the most perfect stays my wife and I have ever had. Cherie was attentive to details and gracious answering questions including my request for a flower arrangement upon arrival (the arrangement was stunning) and Duane who met us and helped with our luggage and answered questions couldn't have been more accommodating. The Suite.....all I can say is WOW! It looked beautiful in the photos however in person is beyond words. On a fall trip to Oregon, we faced the dilemma of where to stay in Southern Oregon. We wanted a sort of home base to return to for a couple of days, while we explored wineries. We were debating about staying at a regular hotel in Medford Oregon, but I really like the sound of Jacksonville. We made the choice to stay in Jacksonville and chose Elan Guest Suites. It was the best decision of our trip, our stay in Jacksonville ended up being the highlight of the trip. We fell in love with Jacksonville and with Elan Guest Suites. The cute building is located off of Main Street and even though it's Main Street, it is not the main drag, but rather one small block back, which makes it even more perfect. You are greeted by one of the owners - either Duane or Cherie. The suites are actually on the second floor of the building, the first floor having the garage and an art gallery for Cherie's son. There is a small dumbwaiter that takes your luggage up for you. As soon as I stepped into our suite, which was the Luna Vista Suite, I fell in love. I told Cherie that everything looked like images that I pinned to my dream decor boards! The wooden floors, the windows providing lots of gorgeous light. Every room beautifully decorated and thought out. Besides being gorgeous, the attention to detail was wonderful. There was a bluetooth music system, so that you could listen to music. There were small flameless candles all around. Comfortable bed and couches and plenty of plants. The kitchen was stocked with everything you might need, including wine glasses, coffee maker, stove, microwave, dishes, cooking and eating utensils. There was some ground coffee from a local coffee place, Goodbean Coffee. Included with your stay is a gift pass for $20 at Goodbean so that you can have breakfast out. I wish I had taken better notes, because I know I was constantly being surprised by all the little touches. The whole big picture was gorgeous, but all the little touches made it even more special. If I'm ever going to Southern Oregon again, I'm coming back here. This is a lovely property that's essentially a bnb without the breakfast. However, you do get a $10 daily credit to the coffee shop/restaurant with full breakfast and lunch menus. You get the full credit upfront, so you can use as much as you want over the stay. The coffee shop (Goodbean) is a 60-second walk door to door. I recommend the scones, bagels, coffee, and chai. We stayed in the Luna Vista with our 10-month baby and was provided with a pack n' play. Although the place isn't ideal for a moving infant, we were able to move objects and the innkeeper, Duane, offered to take out whatever we needed so the place worked just fine. The room is gorgeously decorated with dual balconies and lots of natural light. The kitchen has sufficient appliances. The bed is very comfortable. Everything is incredibly clean. The toiletries smell good. You are also located at the head of a row of adorable gift stores. The nearby restaurants get mixed reviews, but you're still in walking distance of plenty of others. Another guest noted the Luna Vista is above the garage, which is true, but it wasn't a problem during our stay. There will only be 2-3 cars in and out, max. If you do bring a moving baby, I recommend bringing your own portable high chair. We used the Summer Infant Pop n' Sit and sat on an end table to feed her next to the desk, as the main table doesn't accommodate infant feeding. The tub had a bath mat so we didn't need to bring an infant tub. This place is wonderful and I adore it. You get so much considering what you pay. Jacksonville is much better to stay in than Medford should you be visiting the area. Just a side note, if you are short, you might struggle a little bit here. My husband and I visited Jacksonville and the Elan for the first time back in January. We had such a good time we decided to go back for 4 nights. The suites are set up with amazing forethought and care! Be prepared to be pampered! We LOVED the Luna Vista which is huge, modern, clean and totally luxurious! It was not available this stay so we stayed in the Portofino for 2 nights. It was a wonderful visit! The suite and amenities are pretty similar. The Portofino is a beautiful suite with every conceivable amenity at your fingertip. The Portofino is a slightly smaller suite/smaller deck compared to the Luna Vista but there was an unexpected perk to staying in the Portofino. It has a cute bistro table on its deck and we watched an amazing display of wildlife from the deck. There were deer, turkeys, birds, and a cat! It was awesome to sit on the deck and enjoy the beauty of the garden with its beautiful trees and wildlife! The Elan is also a short walk to the Britt so we got to walk to a concert during our stay which was really fun! The amenities are the Elan are awesome but they hospitality you will receive during your stay is fantastic!!!! read more

My wife and I stayed at the Elan Guest Suites on the recommendation of a friend. We were originally booked for 3 nights and then planned to move on to Ashland for another 2 nights. One hour after we checked in we cancelled our reservation at the other hotel, and extended our stay at Elan to 5 nights. Elan is that outstanding. From the decor to the space to the way everything worked Elan is exceptional. In addition to being a luxurious suite, there is a small kitchen area that is equipped so well that "eating in" is entirely feasible. Even though Elan's are Guest Suites with all the finery and service you expect in a hotel, functionally you also get what amounts to your own private flat. The space is quiet and the location is perfect. Cherie is a charming host, and leaves it up to her guests to decide how much privacy they desire. There is absolutely no doubt we will return to take advantage of this property. A final note, we were in the largest of the three suites, the Luna Vista. We looked in at the other suites and they were of equally high quality, just a bit smaller. This would also be a great place for a family, with various couples in the various suites. Since there are only three suites, if you filled them, it would be like your own private home. read more

Although a little on the high side for the area, our stay at Elan Suites was worth every penny and then some. The hosts, Cherie and Duane, were wonderful and very accommodating. The were able to provide plenty of information about the area and especially the Britt Festival. They even provided chairs to use at the festival and complimentary tasting coupons for Dancin Winery. We stayed in the Portofino Suite and it was perfect. Very nice accommodations, beautiful artwork, very functional kitchenette, and a balcony that was perfect for watching the deer and wild turkeys that came around every day. The icing on the cake was the enclosed garage to park in and the luggage elevator for getting your things up to the second floor. The location was ideal. Around the corner from the Britt Festival, and able to walk to everything in Jacksonville. We would definitely stay there again. PS: Keep and eye out for Phoebe. She's the owners cat and she likes to lounge on the Portofino balcony. We enjoyed her company when having wine on the balcony. read more

Cherie & Duane have a gem of a small "bed & breakfast" place in a great location in historic Jacksonville, Oregon. There are only 3 suites and we stayed in the largest Luna Vista suite which has two balconies that overlooked the street. It was very spacious with a bedroom with a king bed, nice size bathroom, hallway and living/dining room/ kitchenette combo. The unit was very well decorated (Cherie's son's wonderful paintings adorned the walls) and fully equipped with everything you'd need. They don't actually serve breakfast there but they give you a voucher for the delicious coffee shop a few steps away. Cherie & Duane were warm, welcoming and very helpful. The only consideration is the steps you have to climb to the suites. It was no problem whatsoever for my husband and me but it may be a problem for someone handicapped or frail as there is no elevator. I highly recommend Elan Guest Suites if you're traveling to this charming town. read more

We booked a room using an agent. We agreed to a rate that included a $15 per day charge for a roll-a-way bed for our 15 year old daughter. We provided our credit card and received confirmation of our stay and rate. Two hours later, we received an email stating the owner would require an additional $30 per night for our 15 year old daughter who was going to sleep on the roll-a-way. Unbelievable. We called back and explained that the price had already been confirmed - we were not going to pay the added charge. The owner would not budge. When we cancelled he charged a one-night penalty fee! I raised heck with the agent, who finally agreed to refund the penalty. Horrible!!!!!!!!!!!! Will never stay there - ever. read more

Élan is 5 star without a doubt. We have stayed here before a few years back but really took notice this time. The attention to detail , the condition of the property , the interior design and furnishing all of it top notch. We stayed in the suite and its like an apt. you would want to live in. Élan is spotless not just in your room but everywhere, even the garage. There is a very cool luggage elevator to bring your things up to your room. It is just a 1/4 block from the beginning of Main Street Jacksonville, and 3-4 good restaurants one being the best (Gogi's) I don't see how one could not like Élan. Its fabulous. read more

From the reservation confirmation to the checkout, Elan is a spectacular experience. Very clean, modern, comfortable, quaint, cozy - I could go on! Every detail has been thought of, and covered. I stayed at Élan for a short business trip to Jacksonville and it was spectacular. The Milan suite that I stayed in was beautifully decorated. There is an attention to detail, feng shui flow, and general warmth that makes the stay such a pleasure. The one thing you'll notice is the extraordinary attention to detail. The lights are controllable so that you can dim at your discretion. Also there are beautiful candles available throughout the suite if you prefer some regular candle power. The bed is as comfortable as it gets, with 4-5 different pillow types that will appeal to any sleeper. The bathroom is also thoughtfully stocked with toiletry items and lush towels that you never find in hotels. The kitchen has all of the things that you need if you wish to cook or just enjoy some leftovers or a nice glass of wine. There is a patio for smoking and even the ash tray is quite high end glass. I only have a few things that I noticed but don't keep me from giving a 5-star review: - I wish the small windows above the bed that let in light would have blinds. It is beautiful to let light in during the day, but if you're sensitive to light, you'll have to plan to go to bed early enough so that you're not woken up by this light. - The walls with the adjacent suite are slightly thin and you do feel somewhat self conscious about speaking loudly at night. I know there isn't much to do about this, but it is nice to feel free to chat into the later evening. - The TV and cable system seems strangely out dated for the quality of everything else in the suite. There really should be a higher end Samsung HD TV with a standard satellite or cable system that is easier to use. I know most people won't be spending time watching TV in this suite, but it would be a nice touch to complete the attention to detail. The best place to stay in Jacksonville, don't think twice and book your suite! read more

this is the best place to stay in southern oregon. i travel at least 80 days out of the year for work. and another 30 on personal travel. i am a member of every hotel chain... and im telling you, this is the place to stay. book early, there are only three rooms. 700 square feet, its a more of a nice apartment. coffee pot, good wifi. cable tv, flat panel, dvd player, stereo with in ceiling sound. your own baloncy. they give you a 'coffee card' on your room key so you can go next door in the morning for breakfast, or there is a full kitchen in the room. indoor parking, next to shelfs of books and dvd's to use. the owner is right there for you, and will even book dinner for you next door. i can not say enough about this place. Spent 2 nights at this wonderful property while visiting Jacksonville for a concert at the Britt. Right off downtown, so perfect place to stay and walk to all the shops and restaurants, as well as within 5 minutes walking distance to the Britt. Cheri was the perfect host and the room (the Portofino) was immaculate, beautifully decorated and had everything you need for a perfectly comfortable stay (fully stocked kitchen). Loved being able to park in the garage! Will definitely be back!! read more
