My experience with the Mac Star team - Outstanding!…read more After being frustrated with loading the latest Apple operating system on an older MacBook Pro, I called every presumed computer/technology store and consulting shop in the greater Anaheim area. Of at least six calls, I felt a level of comfort because I wasn't rushed or embarrassed by my limited knowledge. I decided to go to Mac Star and see for myself. Easy access. Plenty of parking. The team was receptive, smart as heck, and willing to meet my timeline. The cost was very fair and, in fact, less than Best Buy (the Geek Squad in-store) and those others I spoke with on the phone. The work was excellent! The work was guaranteed, and I have been thrilled with the outcome. The Mac Star group did not pressure me or try to oversell services. One more big thing! The store is way more than professionals doing tech repair and guidance. Way more! Mac Star is a real destination for cameras and hard-to-get drones! Thought so too, but I indeed left with a brand new Mac Laptop for only $50 and my payments would start in about two weeks. The catch? There is no catch, really. They are pretty upfront about everything. Yes, you are paying high price than if you were to walk into any other store and pay cash upfront. They make it possible for someone that doesn't have $1,000 to drop on a new MacBook. My scenario was computer cost $1,200 normally in store it goes for about $1,000. Then you add tax so it got close to $1,400. You job is your credit, so for someone that doesn't have the best credit due to student loans they made it super easy. Now you apply through a company, that has really good reviews and you fill out the application in store or you can do it from the comfort of you home. Yeah you pay a higher price, but it's either that or wait to save up to buy a laptop. In my case I needed it as an emergency so I had to do it this way. Paying it off in 90 is true, I contacted the company myself and was told the same thing, you have until the last day to make the full payment and you will not incur interest. Have you ever walked in some place and been asked "Can I help you...?" in a way it was clear the guy meant "Wt-...? Are you lost?" So yeah that's how it starts, I tell the guy I'm just taking a look around, he never leaves the doorway of the backroom to approach, he was strangely AVOIDING providing straight answers to basic questions like "How much would a 5090 build start at?". I love to talk about this stuff I couldn't have been more pleasant and friendly at first, but every response he was like COUNTERING me TRYING to make me go "oh forget it " and walk out or something. For example, I noticed the radiator didn't fill the top section of a completed build in the showroom, and simply asked "Is this AIO 240mm or 280mm?" He said he wasn't sure, I literally said nothing but I did have a surprised look on my face and I kid you not the guy goes "That one's already sold so there's no point in me discussing details about it." I think I ended up asking him straight up if he could even hear what I just asked. (Did I mention he had two wired airpods in the entire time?) Seriously though, this is a developing story because I wasn't there by accident. There was a different store with the exact same name in Anaheim that I made a purchase from a while back. That one wasn't a bad experience actually, so I figured I'd stop by their new location now and have a look. My receipt lists the exact same phone number as listed on their website, and this listing. I'm positive these are the same guys who have just changed their location. TLDR; I shopped with these guys once at their previous location, and I either got insanely lucky that first time, or they got WAY worse. Avoid this one ppl. Scam likely.

They are selling products that are not legal to be sold and they are misleading consumers into purchasing "custom built" computers. The computers are all under 1 volume Windows license and ripe with used motherboards and lazy cable management. The moment you walk out of the store they can shut down your windows license so they can apply it to another machine and scam another person. Luckily, my license lasted for a few months before they did this to me. When I contacted Windows they advised me what this shop is doing. Avoid them, its not worth the headache. Also, just in case you were curious how they responded when I reached out to them regarding what had happened with my license below is the response I got FROM THEM.
