unbeknownst to me, this was the company that came to inspect my neighbor's furnace in the basement of our three family home a couple of months ago. Fast forward to today when I go down to my basement to grab something and find their stickers plastered all over all of our water tanks and other utilities in the basement. When I called the company to ask why they felt it was appropriate to do that, including covering warranty tags on my water tank, the person who answered the phone was pretty rude and hung up on me. There was a service person doing plumbing work in my basement for another unit, and he pulled up photos of their stickers on other client's appliances. I don't really have any recourse to get this vandalism corrected aside from letting other people know that this company uses some pretty lame tactics to try to get business. read more

He was quick to reply but my cell phone was not near me so I did not hear it. I phoned him the next day and he asked a few quick questions and asked for photos. I went downstairs and said "one last time" because my fingers weren't "working well" after a day of keyboarding ... voila ... I got the snap ring to close for the garbage disposal. Came home after a 12hr overnight shift to water gushing out of the top of one of the water heaters. I sent a text to Green Tech and they responded with in 30 minutes. less than 2 hours later they were at the front door to check it out, 2 hours later had a new water heater installed. The Tech was polite and professional. Explained what he would do and the cost. If you live in Boston you know the cost for plumbing/heating/electric is a premium. You'll likely get a tech that day, but you'll regret it later. If you're looking to get overcharged, techs that rush to leave and don't do proper diagnosis, and an owner that will ignore you after he extracts all the money he can from you, then this is the company for you! I had an issue with my furnace, they sent a tech for a $100 fee to show up, and the tech surprised me asking for $300 more if he "opens his toolbox". They did basically a safety bypass to kick the system into working again, but I pleaded that this issue has been recurring and to look deeper, sure enough it failed a few days later. And then the owner ghosted me, telling me to they're suddenly unavailable for three weeks. About a month later, cold and desperate, I went against my better judgement and reached out to them again. They sent a tech, did the same thing, it worked for a day, failed. And now the owner again won't respond to my calls or texts. So they will be quick to send help at a premium price, but don't expect anything other than a quick cash grab and and owner that's quick to ghost you. read more

We were cleaning the shower head in our 2nd bathroom and realized that we were unable to turn off the water. Hector came the next day and explained that the the valve was broken and had to be replaced. He gave us two options, one to fix the problem and the second, a permanent fix. Excellent response time - and sent a plumber within about an hour and a half. HOWEVER, they charged me $100 to book and then another $375 for basic service, WHICH TOOK THE PLUMBER 20 MINUTES TO COMPLETE!!! I understand that there are a lot of back costs for running a business, however their pricing structure is a "price gouge" as one other reviewer noted. Why not charge by the hour? Like most people? or by the service? The plumber that came was excellent - however the pricing is outrageous. read more

They price gouge. Took advantage of urgency and the fact that they were already on site to offer too high of prices, then insisted they are offering the same or better than others. After getting quotes from other vendors, it is clear they were offering too high a price compared to other vendors. After giving services, I asked for a receipt and they were not able to provide one. Asked me to send a request by email. When asked for a price breakdown, they gave what seemed like an intentionally unclear answer. read more

Green Tech came out right away for a quote to replace my Water Heater. It was 100 for the assessment, but I felt like the quote was really non-competitive and almost intentionally so. Green Tech came in at 5000, I've gotten 4 other quotes in the range of 2500-3200. Hector was really friendly and prompt but my opinion is the business model is take advantage of the urgency or collect the consult fee. read more

We called Green Tech Plumbing first because of a garbage disposal which was broken and needed to be replaced. They responded quickly and did a beautiful job. We called them again when we had problems with our kitchen stove. It is a commercial stove so we needed someone who knew about such. They came very quickly and knew exactly how to deal with the situation. We will call them again and can recommend Green Tech highly for their promptness, thoroughness, very kind way they respond, but mostly because they do a good job. read more

Had an awesome experience with Green Tech. I recently bought a home in which the plumbing was the original, and the tap lines were corroded. This caused the taps to block and not turn on and we were without water to one of our sinks. I called up Green Tech and they had Dave come by the next day, he arrived on time and wore a mask the entire time, and resolved the problem in a couple hours while installing two new taps with upgraded flexible lines. The job looked great and he was sure to show me more than once the work that he was doing, to make sure I was satisfied with the result.
