I was introduced to this restaurant by my girlfriend. We are new to the area and she has been non stop talking about it. We finally decided to try it today and I'm already wanting seconds haha. It seems like a good alternative if you're looking to keep your weight down or even making healthy choices. I believed they have vegan and keto options as well. I went with the Thai Peanut Bowl and it did not disappoint at all. I added chicken and fried tofu as my source of protein. We brought it togo and as I was sitting watching tv and wow, I felt like my bowl was never ending! They do give you a good portion size. I really enjoyed the flavor and it had a small spicy kick to it. Most Thai dishes should have spice anyways. I think they were spot on with this bowl. Def would have it again. The Ginger Cucumber Mint is really refreshing. That drink you cannot go wrong. Def would come back to try something else! read more

I love that this place exists as an alternative, healthier version to fast food. I feel you have to find the dish that you like here, and once you find it, you'll come back over and over. Our go to items are the blackened fish tacos. They come three to an order and are filling, fresh tasting, and delicious! We also enjoy their grass fed burger. Two patties in this burger make it satisfying and it's also delicious! Lastly, we always order fried chickpeas to share. Crunchy, nutty, and chewy all at the same time. It's like a party in your mouth! As a bonus, they have a beautiful outdoor patio with a water fountain so you can enjoy a lunch date with a friend or significant other and still have sone privacy as the fountain drowns out others' conversations, but not yours. Pretty much the perfect spot for clean, post work out meals. We're talking grass fed beef, tons of legume and veg- based protein choices. Servings are hearty, the menu rather eclectic. I was a big fan of the Orange location and am very glad they decided on a location nearby. Whether it's a fat burger or some high quality grilled salmon you're craving this is the spot worth checking out north end of OC. 5 stars. read more

I tried Green Tomato Grill again because I wanted something quick but also not too heavy for lunch. Opted for the Thai Wrap ($9.55) with grilled chicken this time around. So much veggies in the wrap which I thoroughly enjoyed but there was a tad too much sauce - would definitely ask for easy sauce next time. Hubby decided on the BBQ Pulled Pork Melt ($9.75) and that was pretty good! Ordered a side of sweet potato fries ($3.55) with our meal - can't ever go wrong with that! I came to this place to check out their vegan options since I was in the area. I chose the teriyaki bowl with tofu, crispy cauliflower bites, and a hibiscus drink; my dad got the potato leek soup and berry pineapple drink; my sister got got one of their wraps with tofu and sweet potato fries. Everything looked great and tasted great and all vegan! Although we took our food to go, this location had nice, welcoming, clean, and ample seating. The staff was very nice as well. I found the Green Tomato Grill on Yelp under vegan restaurants near me. I read that this restaurant had many vegan options and they do. I ordered a Greek salad and I chose avocado as my protein. I also got their ginger mint lemonade. The salad was delicious although I didn't care for the dressing. I made my own at home. The ginger mint lemonade was refreshing. This restaurant sits in a small shopping center next to a barber shop. There is plenty of parking and they have a nice outside seating area. There is ample seating inside. Beautiful decor. Charming and unpretentious! That describes me of course, but today I share my modesty with Greenie because our lunch was super good. I had a bowl that even sounds interesting: "Thai Peanut Bowl." Ample meat (I chose steak), cabbage, carrot, edamame, peanut, green onion, shishito pepper (next time I will ask for more pepper), white rice & Thai peanut sauce. More westerners should eat peanut sauce. It adds a nice flavor. I like mine with a bit of spicy mustard. I love this spot! They have so much variety in their menu. They have a bunch of different types of cuisines and healthy options. I feel like this place is family friendly given the healthy options, large space to accommodate big groups, and their bakery options. My favorite thing to get from here is the chickpea curry. It is one of my go - tos. I used to get the muffins as well back when they had them so hopefully they will bring it back soon! This was my go to healthy spot pre COVID and has been my default takeout spot during COVID. We find ourselves here a lot. Service and food is so consistent and never disappoints. I've probably tried nearly all of the bowls on the menu, but my favorite as of late has been the chimichurri bowl. Their sauce is so damn good. Portion size is just right and I ask them to sub half rice half greens. Sometimes I'll get salmon as my protein but their crispy tofu is amazing! Their lemonades and chili lime popcorn are also very good. Also love that their takeout bowls are biodegradable. +1 for Mother Earth! Very clean on the inside with a cute patio as well if you're dining in. read more

Green Tomato Grill was built around the core principals of serving fast, healthy, affordable and sustainable food to the community. We created a menu centered around unique flavors, fresh ingredients and lots of vegetables. Unlike other fast establishments, we butcher and marinate our own meat and cut all our vegetables fresh in house every day. All of our sauces are either vegetable or Greek yogurt based and also made from scratch. Everything is made to order, allowing us to serve many different special dietary needs including gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian and vegan entrées.

Today, my daughter and I each ordered the spicy chicken tacos. The tacos are dry she said. As I finished the second taco, I said, these tacos aren't very good. I lost my appetite so did not eat the third taco. She said that the chicken was dry, too. She picked out the chicken pieces and left the soft taco shells. Her ice tea and my horchata was good. We decided to tell the cashier who was the same young man who took our order and delivered the tacos to the table. My daughter told him that she had eaten here many times and no complaints. She showed him the taco shells that were inside the container and said they were dried out. She also said that the chicken was also dry. I said that the tacos were not very good. He seemed to be listening and said that he was sorry. Pausing, we realized that he wasn't going to say anything else and we didn't have anything else to say, we placed our food containers in the trash bin, then, we left. While in the car we agreed that we could have asked for the manager. We agreed that this food was a disappointment and with no customer service response we also agreed that it's unlikely that either of us would return. read more
