Expectations were high, after my sister's go to craft brewery closed down and her husband took to Stone Silo immediately, signing up to be a club member. The building itself did have a stone silo on property that opened up to fields. There was a rustic, farm type feel walking in the front door. Welcomed by stone and dark colored woods, the facility was quite large and clean with ample seating. A glance outside there were fire pits and chairs to sit set, along with an 'adult only' section if you don't like your craft with a crying 2 year old. I sampled a few beer including the IPA, which was a bit underwhelming, but expected since the West Coast is known for quality IPAs. I settled on the Japanese rice lager, 'Nojo with Yuzu.' What a mistake! Not something I could get behind and I like yuzu too. Just too tart for a lager and not what I was looking for in my light beer selection. Second round I tried their Czech style dark lager, Clever Crow. Not sure what about this was supposed to be lager, it really felt more porter-ish to me, did not drink light and just not what I was looking for in a dark lager. The grounds and staff were great, it was a fun place to hang with family, but maybe I just made two poor beer decisions. Expected a bit more from the taps but would be willing to go back and give Stone Silo a second chance, as I know my bro-in-law will want to go back since it's close to the house

What I liked most is how many low ABV options they have so I can have a drink while still keeping track of my kid and being able to drive home. The service was phenomenal. I asked a lot of questions about the drink options and the bartender was able to answer everything or refer to a manager for help. I decided to get the frozen mojito which is made with their spiked seltzer so it has an ABV of 5%. It comes in 3 sizes and I got the smallest one. It was so tasty and refreshing on a hot weekend! The mint flavor came through without tasting like toothpaste. I would definitely get this again and try some of the other frozen drink options too. There is so much outdoor space for kids to play! Families had infants, toddlers, and elementary school aged kids with them. Kids were kicking a ball, parents were strolling the babies, and everyone was having fun. My daughter loved walking through the grass and observing all the lawn games being played. It was so easy to sip my mojito and watch over her. I am very happy I found this brewery and am looking forward to a returning visit with the family.

Since Walker's is at the end of the strip, they have outdoor seating on the sidewalk. No fault of the establishment, when the sun went down, it got cold quickly! If the food was a notch better: I'd come more than once a year. I find Mays, Liberty Seafood and Avery's roughly the same, with Mays having the edge over the others (quieter too). For just crabs: order takeaway from Westpointe. For bulking up on food: Avery's. I actually enjoy eating at Avery's -- but it could be so much better if they improved the sides and service. Still, I do come once a year -- contrasted to: I visit several other restaurants at least twice a month ...and get better quality seafood dishes (at a marginally higher price). Just saying...

To get a drink, you simply order at the long bar or the side window. Ah, Food Truck Tuesday has arrived…read more The BBQ was the first truck I saw (they are in the corner). Yes, I am a BBQ lover. 1. The pulled pork was well seasoned. The BBQ sauce was good, but honestly, I've had better. 2. The chicken was pronounced good. The baked beans were good, and the fries were not my favorite, but still good. Overall, this is a great food truck BBQ experience. I mean what is not to love, a BBQ pit on wheels that rolls into your neighborhood?
