Customer service, empathy or concern for actually following their own established policies seems to be selective. At the very minimum the staff is rude and biased. At the horrendously worst they are racially judgmental. Speaking very calm I was told that I was getting loud and angry. Immediately I was told that no longer discussion was warranted and that I needed to talk to the office manager due to my "heated and loud" demeanor. I deal in conflict management daily at my job and even informed the clerk that I was displeased at the situation, but that a disagreeing perspective does not equate to loud or even angry in tone. I have had mixed experiences with the staff during my 15 plus years of treatment, but have never been treated like this. There generally has been a feeling of greater than thou or elitism instead of an everyone is welcome attitude. I at first equated that to having government insurance. I now have exceptional corporate insurance and treatment was not any different. I would have left and went elsewhere a long time ago if not for the care I received from my doctor. Dr. Woodruff has always been incredibly kind and caring. However, I will not be stereotyped. I am the very last to bring classism, race or any other type of prejudiced accusations into a situation unjustly but today's experience was putrid. To the office's credit, I could have been seen and dealt with the attitudes if I myself had been to my appointment exactly on time or early. That is on me. I fully take that responsibility. Oh well. I may make a BBB complaint as well but there are plenty other eyecare facilities. My treatment will have to be postponed for another month or so and I am thankful it wasn't excessively, medically urgent. Except for possibly picking up my records; I will NOT be back her again. Sad.

For over a decade I went to a business that was around the corner from my home in Fern Creek - after another company acquired them. I knew it was time for a change. Two business later, I can honestly say Mooney EyeCare Center is and will always be my forever home for my eyes. The staff was extremely efficient and friendly. I felt welcomed and comfortable as soon as I walked through the doors. I love the decor! The waiting rooms and the exam rooms all have the same artistic floor that relaxes you and puts you at ease. There was no wait to get placed into an exam room and the wait for my eye doctor was minimal. My optometrist was Dr. Hargus. His eye examination was thorough and he asked appropriate questions as needed. Dr. Hargus was extremely knowledgeable, speaks very clearly and made direct eye contact when discussing my eye assessment with me. He was also friendly. HIs staff are really nice. I spoke to Dr. Meyer, explain to him the reason why I had RK and lasik. He explained everything to me. He was there to answer all my questions. I called to inquire if I could get in same day and was accommodated. Check in was quick and Dr Omar was friendly, answering all my questions about my eyes. We had the same swiftness for the check out process abs our glasses were ready for pick up in 2 days. They have several frames to pick from, including some under $200 that are covered by our insurance. I wish there were more economical selections, but they have the basics covered.

I keep calling but the billing lady is always out of office or the office is closed/on lunch? My appointment in itself was an absolute tragedy. I've been going to the eye doctor for over 15 years so I have a pretty good idea of how an appointment should run. I first go to do the basic eye testing (little house on prairie machine...pics of the eyes etc.) the doctors assistant running my tests had no idea what she was doing. She didn't tell me to take my contacts out and when I said something she just handed me a contact case and some empty contact solution bottle. No sink, no form of sanitation, no mirror, NOTHING. When I saw actual optometrist everything was fine...but the check out process was a NIGHTMARE. No one in the office knew how to run insurance, they forgot my credit card in the back room twice, they did t know how to give me a receipt, and this entire process took over an hour! I paid for my contacts but have yet to receive anything and it's been over a MONTH. The lady that does the billing is never in the office because everytime I've tried to call to check on the status of my contacts she's never there!! And she never calls me back! I just want my contacts. I hope they see this and finally get back to me. Last time I called was today at 1:30 and the voicemail box said they were "on lunch"??? Ridiculous.

Always willing to listen to my concerns and questions. I got cataracts at an early age (compared to most ) and Dr Taustine did my surgeries. And all I can say is thank you Dr T for giving me my sight back. I have always been really near-sighted with a lot of astigmatism and I'm now basically 20/25 in both eyes. It's such a joy to wake up in the morning and to be able to just see! Nothing blurry or fuzzy. It's amazing! These people are true professionals and are always wanting you to have the best outcome of either your visit or your surgery. I can't recommend them enough!
