GreeneBows's is under new ownership and is now 7 Lakes Cafe. It is unpretentious and simple food. Best of all the staff our all incredible. Your coffee cup is always full! They have a more expanded menu with plenty of daily specials. The portions are generous and the prices are quite good as well. I ordered off the lunch menu and my wife tried the breakfast. Here's where it did fall short. My wife's sausage patties were very thin, which was not a problem, but because of it they were quite overcooked. As well her eggs were over cooked but she still enjoyed her breakfast. My Rueben sandwich was overcooked as well and the corn beef was a tad bit tough and needed more thousand island on it. But the flavor was actually quite good. Would we rush back, probably not but we will try them again in the future. They are new and it takes time to get things perfect. Next time hopefully t will be a five star review. read more

I moved away from the Sandhills with work to FL and MO, so it's been awhile since I have been to Greenebow's. It's just as good as the last time, to say it's a 5/5, solid yummy place for breakfast in Seven Lakes/West End. Highly recommend! read more

Stopped in today for a quick takeout breakfast sandwich and a coffee. I was hoping to like the place since it's close to my house. Unfortunately, the sandwich was blah, at best. Simple egg and cheese - very thin egg and some sort of yellow cheese served on thin plain white bread. When ordered they didn't ask me what bread I'd like (I don't like white bread) so I just assumed it would be on an English muffin or something. I assumed wrong. The coffee was served in a very large styrofoam cup with a lid that wouldn't stay on (danger: hot coffee). When I went in to pick up my order, there was no help to be found. No one greeted me and no one asked about my order. I eventually walked to the counter near the kitchen and found what I believed to be my order sitting there in a brown bag. So, I grabbed the bag and took it to the register to pay for it. There I saw a sign that said something to the effect of a 4% upcharge to use a credit card. Annoying. So I paid by cash and walked out with a bunch of loose change in my pocket. Overall, an underwhelming experience. I don't think I'd go back. read more

The atmosphere and service however, are amazing. As for the food, I would say it was just okie. Nothing wrong with it, but also nothing that really stood out or made me go wow. Breakfast this morning while I was getting some work done on my vehicle. The restaurant is still practicing their social distancing with spaced tables and masks required. I'm not sure if they wipe down the menus or what, so I used care with that. My ham & cheese omelet was very good. Prepared properly, a nice size, completely filling. I probably drank a gallon of coffee as well. Note that there are no grits or potatoes because I'm still losing weight on the keto diet. Good service, clean restaurant, nice meal. It was all great! Just passing through before a long drive and banged a U-turn to try this spot. The place was crowded so we sat at the counter and both ordered the Western Omelette with hash browns, a biscuit, and a side of fried okra. Hats off to the chef who's making French-style omelettes- honestly one of the best omelettes I've ever had. What a cool small town diner with a great diner menu! Along Highway 211, easy access and lots of parking. Came at lunch time, lots of seating and the joint was full. Seems like a local place for sure, very friendly wait staff and full menu. Breakfast all day is great, that's what I ordered. Moist hash brownss, quality bacon, excellent biscuits and all perfect & hot. Wife had a monster club sandwich and a salad with grilled chicken for 2. Huge orders of food, fresh and just absolutely tasty and fresh. So much we had a box to go. Observed plates of good looking country cooking and comfort food. Will definitely be back! In for breakfast wanting GOOD biscuits & gravy. A lot of places offer it but most is canned not homemade. The server assured me it was house made with lots of sausage. What I got was cold and not much sausage. Sent it back to be nuked. Server never came back to offer more coffee or ask if everything was now ok. We almost didn't come here because of the latest reviews. BUT I'M GLAD WE CAME! The service was excellent. We were greeted as soon as we sat down. Waitresses came by several times to fill our drinks. About the food... DELICIOUS. We got biscuits and sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns and grits. It was wonderful. My husband loves good biscuits and good sausage gravy and gave these a thumbs up. We will definitely be coming here again. read more

The go to place for locals in the area! May not look like much from the outside, but downhome cooking and hospitality abound inside. Affordable and Basic Southern Cuisine. I don't know why this place is packed. Maybe because there's nothing else around!! Everything seems to out of a can. They don't even have fresh mushrooms for the omelets. The sausage gravy is a 4 out of 10 and the biscuits are large but super salty which tells me they are not homemade. We've tried this place 2 or 3 Times and it always falls short. They've even managed to make a sad BLT. I don't think we will be back! read more

This place tastes and feels almost exactly like Mac's--the restaurant that was there before. I got the grilled cheese and tomato soup. Neither was impressive. The grilled cheese was maximally cheap. It tasted like grocery-store brand cheese on cheap, buttery white bread. Worse, though, was my (canned) tomato soup: it couldn't have been hotter than 80 degrees. Anyway, the food was alright, and it was cheap. I guess that's what I expect when I'm eating on the side of 211, far away from anything else. So 3 stars. read more

This place has great food, terrific service and just the ambience one needs. I travel from Winston to Oak Island several times a year and make it a point to have a good meal here. The vegetables are seasoned and cooked to perfection and the breads are to die for. The absolute best chicken and egg salad I have ever had. We were in town for a funeral and stopped here for lunch based on YELP reviews. We were lucky to get seated just before the Sunday church crowd. The staff were friendly, service fast, and the food was delicious. They had 18 vegetables to choose as sides. I couldn't decide, so had a veggie plate. My hubby had the meatloaf & sides.
