Service had been splendid, I've been there multiple times and the workers are always helpful. (I lost my card there and was able to grab it the next day!) The food selection is stellar and has multiple options for breakfast and lunch. Their breakfast burrito is comparable to the feeling of being able to change the left sock after stepping in a puddle. Very satisfying! As for ambiance, it's nice and quiet at times and other times there is more hustle and bustle noise. Both make for a great place to catch up with friends and family. I can't believe I only found this place recently. It's so close to Trader Joe's, just a couple of blocks away. It has a parking lot at the side or on the side street. I got here around noon and it was not busy yet. People started to stream in around 1230 pm. Find a table. Order at the counter. The staff will bring the food to you. Return plates and cups to the bin by the door. It is quite a casual place. I had the clam chowder which came with bread. I also ordered the biscuit and sausage gravy. They were so delicious! Now I know where to go when I have cravings for these. Breakfast is served all day and I'll want to try the chicken and waffles next. The person who took my order gave great recommendations for ciders and sours. The Marlon Brando pizza was delicious. Inside gives a chill vibe, very cafe-esque in a great location. Really happy we decided to go here...read an article that listed Greene's as one of the best clam chowder in BHam, so that was the trigger. Had the clam chowder and added a pizza (Marlon Brando). The chowder was very good but the pizza stole the show, as good as pie as I've had in quite a while, and I'm a bit of a pizza snob. Perfectly crispy crust, awesome char and great blend/quantity of toppings. Loved it. Very nice outdoor beer garden if it's nice out and/or you're with your pup. There were many other options that looked great in the menu...judging by how well this first meal was I'll be back to try it again. read more

This place is delicious. Disappointingly delicious. Let me explain... No, there is too much. Let me sum up. First off, there is a big parking lot. Remember that, because parking on the street can get dicey. My door was almost taken off by someone that wasn't paying attention and was pretty close to the parked cars. The beer garden area is lovely, well spaced, and the tables have umbrella (yay!) to block the summer sun. You order at the counter (dogs are allowed inside to order only), and the server was kind enough to offer a small dish of water - I already had a travel bowl so she brought over a pitcher of water with the pitcher of deeeeelish beer we ordered. The pizza was really, really damn good. Like better than the only other place in town that does a decent thin crust. Really tasty, and I'm pretty thrilled I gave into the impulse buy. We got the Marlon Brando, which is the meatiest one you can find on the menu, and it has fresh basil sprinkled on top. While I think it could have used some crushed red (which was not offered nor could I find it?) it was a fairly epic pizza. The disappointing part is that nowhere on Earth should a pizza, even a large pizza, cost $40 after tax and tip. Even at the aforementioned other pizza joint in town, this would have been a mid-$20 pie. Is the extra $15 worth the better taste? I can't say it is. for $15 I can buy ingredients and make it all myself....which is like....I don't know. The potatoes managed to be crispy even though it was smothered in toppings, which is a feat. We went to Greene's Corner for lunch last week and we're welcomed by a large, warm, and inviting space. I'm newer to the area and was surprised to see a pretty big bottle shop too, so we'll definitely be back to check out their selection. We ended up ordering the fish and chips, a reuben, and they had a Korean BBQ chicken slider on special, so we split it as an appetizer. The dishes came out pretty quickly and were looked appetizing enough. The fish was a little on the toasty side from being fried too long, but had a good flavor otherwise. The reuben had tons of pastrami and was pretty good. Not the best, but still pretty good. But really what earned the 4 stars here was the Korean slider. The slaw, the KBBQ sauce, and the chicken were perfection. When we go back, if they've got it as a special again, that will be the meal. read more

You have to try this place in Bellingham, WA It has wonderful food and a large variety of beer choices. Don't expect very much for service, some days the staff is amazing and the next time you come in, they'll be a different person with an attitude. The last time I was there, I arrived early, meeting some friends, and to get a cuppa coffee before my party showed up, the staff person asked to hold. My credit card until my friends came. I am 66 years old and NO OTHER RESTAURANT in the area ever asked me to do that. Welcome was not what I felt. Thank you for your reply. On a side note. I've been a Greene's Corner fan for years - first discovering them at their north Bellingham location and then eagerly anticipating their move to the center of town (conveniently only a few minutes from my house). Their new digs feature the bottles, taps, and food that made the old location special, while ditching the "grocery store" feel of the original spot. The result, in my opinion, is perfection. Boasting plenty of open seating in their casual dining area, a walk-up counter where you can order a beer, cider, wine, and/or tasty food, Greene's is a great addition to the Sunnyland neighborhood. They also have a mean selection of bottles and cans, and tasty, homemade food ranging from their epic pulled pork nachos to sandwiches and their famous gourmet pizza. On a recent visit I discovered my favorite thing yet: their house-made chile relleno. OMG was this thing good. In fact, it was so good I had to stop myself from ordering another one! It paired wonderfully with a pint of local Illuminati Brewing ale. My daughter enjoyed a warm vanilla steamed milk and their mac 'n cheese poppers. What really sets Greene's apart is their small-town feel. They're locally owned, and the owners work both front and back of house. The service is warm, friendly, and welcoming. Was excited to try this place! Cute ambiance & good fries, but the service was absolutely horrible.

There is no service yet they charge a service fee and request a tip. You have to order at the counter and bus your own dishes. If you want a refill on your coffee you have to go back to the counter and ask for it. The food tastes good but it gave me explosive diarrhea when I hadn't eaten anything else. In addition, there is no ambiance I will never go back there! All 5 of us got sick from the food that night, even tho we all didn't eat the same thing read more

Our second shot at this place. First time stopped with my daughters for pie and Americano and Chai. Americano was rough. Super cheap cup with thin plastic lid. My daughter couldn't finish the chai. The coconut cream pie was bangin! A little pricey, but tasty. We really try to support small and local business so we tried dinner tonight. I ordered the burger bleu with greens instead of bun. I appreciated their versatility in the matter, but this tiny little burger for the price was just not worth it. The greens were great, and dressing was tasty. We had an order of fish n chips also. The batter was like pancake batter. I've never seen this before. The fish fell right out of the bread. I feel like a lighter batter would have been so much better. The tarter was very good as was the slaw. Seemed super skimpy on the fries. The three meals came to $40. I just can't make sense of that. I don't desire to try a third time. This place might have the worst pizza in Bellingham. We've ordered here twice. You know the old saying- fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice...... I have mercifully forgotten the first pizza, but it was basically a soggy mess which we found inedible. Recently, we kept it simple and ordered a 12" Grand Salami delivered via Viking. This pizza featured red sauce, salami, four-cheese blend, red onion, green bell pepper, mushrooms, and black olives. It was edible, but that's about it. The basic problem is with the red sauce, which is way too watery. Another issue was the salami, which was so mild it was hard to taste, ironic for a pizza called the Grand Salami. Finally, the online ordering does not allow any modifications of the pizza toppings. What you see is what you get. Period. Some of their other stuff is pretty good, but I've had my last pizza at Green's Corner. My three star rating breaks down to 1 star for pizza, 4 stars for everything else. read more

This little spot on James Street has been around for a while yet I hadn't heard much about it, so I decided to give it a go! They've gone with the model other Bellingham staples have done with coolers of local canned beer, cider and wine you can chose from, or a small list of on tap options. Their selection is good and I will probably go back to grab some to take home at some point. They have created some outside seating areas that were nice with a small tabletop propane fire to keep patrons warm. After our first drink I decided to grab a piece of their pizza special that day as it sounded amazing with goat cheese, apples and balsamic. I ordered and grabbed another drink and started waiting. After 35 minutes and my friends pizza that was ordered after mine coming out, I asked the gal if mine was close. Now, I've worked service my whole life, and I know accidents happen, and if our server would have said she forgot to put it in, no harm no foul, but instead she lied and said each piece has to be made to order and takes a while. I went head and cancelled my order and was told I was refunded but got no confirmation of this. We went and had some great kebabs down the street instead, which was a bummer because that pizza sounded delicious. Will probably not be back for dining. read more

First I should say I've only ever had this place delivered and I have never been inside. But what I have had was absolutely amazing. I get the same thing each time. It's a carne asada breakfast hash with an egg on top. Holy smokes is it delicious. It has cotija cheese that adds that lovely salt flavor and the potatoes are the cubed ones which are my favorite. Unpopular opinion but I'm not a fan of the shredded hash browns. I have ordered this meal multiple times and each time it's delicious and even my leftovers taste great and I hate leftovers. read more

Okay: great beer selection! Everyone raves about the pizza, I will be sure to try the pizza the next time I'm there. I had an Al Pastor Taco -- the pork was WAY overcooked, dry, and poorly seasoned, the taco was meant to have guacamole and I couldn't detect any which might have helped with the dryness. The fresh in-house tortilla would have been great, but it was raw. I went back to the host/server and asked for Pico de Gallo or Salsa -- initially I was offered a huge array of Tabasco-type sauces, and then a spicy house-made salsa from the kitchen which was simply another chili sauce, not a salsa, so the taco remained essentially dry. The French Fries were AMAZING. The oil was fresh, the potatoes were fresh cut and they were expertly cooked, one might think that's easy, but it isn't, the good French Fries make it worth returning. Everyone raved about the French Fries! The Deep Fried Pickles were an interesting new flavor for me which I enjoyed. One order is enough for four diners. **There are enough food items on this menu for a restaurant with 24 tables.** There are roughly nine tables, and the menu needs to reflect that. Simplify the menu and make every item great. Put out a survey on the front counter and find out what people really like on this menu. No person can survive on Pizza and French Fries alone. The staff might be a bit more attentive, and happy to see customers. They were visibly shocked that I left a tip, but I've worked in hospitality and I won't leave a host/server high and dry -- usually this sort of attitude by all the servers is a reflection on the management, not on the staff. Both of the staff were clearly uninterested in improving the experience for the customer and that's down to inattentive management, much as the menu problems reflect as well. Management must lead by example on a regular basis to make it stick. The ambient vibe is happy, diverse and interesting art enhances the décor. This is definitely a good space for groups, afternoon work meetings or team outings. read more

I really don't want to get in the habit of writing good reviews, then lowering them later. It bums me out when I am wowed once by a place, then am disappointed every time after that. I got a Turkey Bacon Ranch wrap today. They were out of ranch which was totally fine. The waitress was super apologetic and offered other choice. My problem was. It should have been called a Spinach wrap with a few pieces of turkey and a tiny strip of bacon. The diameter of the wrap was about the size of a RedBull can and just a bit longer. Once I removed the spinach (I like spinach, just not a mouth full of it). The wrap was no bigger than two fingers wide. My mother in law got a Kimchi burger. It fell apart into mush the minute she bit into it. We have had numerous occasions like this. We keep going back, we always leave asking ourselves. Why did we come here and why did we spend so much money on something we didn't like? That's the other part. This place is not cheap, inexpensive, or a good bang for your buck. A burger, beer, and side will easily get you into the $20+range. Add a starter and bring your love with you on a date. You will easily hit $60+ I am all for local companies and supporting them. If you like high-school cafeteria pizza then you will love this place, pizza was bland and flavorless. Claimed they used multiple cheeses for the ruby's cheese and Mt baker pepperoni but there was clearly only one cheese used and it was cheap, also the cheese wasn't fully melted and pizza had a ton of bubbles, it looked like it was a cheap frozen pizza. Avoid pizza there at all costs, on the other hand I had a spicy pulled pork sub and that was amazing so it seems it's just the pizza that is crap.
