I love Bellingham Cider Company! It's been a while and I was in the neighborhood so I wandered in. I had forgotten how charming I find the interior--and this was on a sunny day! Meaning I actually chose to be seated inside. Staff were wonderful as ever--new people to me this time: helpful and charming servers, Maysen and David, and excellent barkeep, Marko. The beverages were top notch as ever. I didn't find an old favorite on the menu, so I asked about a drink they used to have into which they infused magically with actual oiled smoke of some sort. I don't know if I ended up with that, but they brought me the Seasmoke which was so extraordinary. I loved the dry Black Cherry Cider and one other whose name I don't recall (blond...and a little citrusy nice). Truffle fries were nice. Kale Caesar Salad is scrumptious. I've honestly never had something I didn't absolutely love here. Most recently, I tried their kale salad and raspberry lemonade (both amazing tbh). There's a ton of seating both on the patio and indoors. They have a very relaxed vibe and have a hell of a view. The service is great and they were accommodating of the kids in our group. We were in Bellingham and wanted somewhere fun to sit outside for lunch. Bellingham Cider Co has a lot of outdoor seating and was able to get our party of 10 an immediate table. They have a great menu with choices for adults and kids. I opted for the BLT, which was good! The tomato on my sandwich leaked out so much liquid, though, that the bread on the bottom of my sandwich was soaked. The cider selection was awesome. The menu looked decent! Didn't get a chance to eat, however. I attempted to dine on the outdoor patio with my cardiac service dog. For starters the hostess seemed more miserable to be there than I am during a Pap smear. I have multiple heart conditions, and my service dog is best equipped to alert me the closer he is. I wasn't trying to have my second heart attack here. I have a bag that he stays in, and I did have him on the chair, which I understand a non-service dog is not allowed to be on. Our server immediately came up and explained this. Understood, but as I explained that he is trained to detect my arrhythmias and palpitations, the server repeated he cannot sit on the chair. Rainy evenings in Bellingham call for touring around the different brewing spots! Our first spot was BCC, and we were sat at the bar as it was booked and we only wanted drinks. The inside is gorgeous, but the outdoor patio is what really stood out to me. I wish it had been nicer, I would have loved to sit out there and enjoy my drink! My group got two cider flights to share among four people. It was a lot of cider and a good deal when the price was split between us. Our favorite cider was the strawberry rhubarb. The other ciders all kind of tasted similar after that. We struggled to differentiate them. Or maybe we just saturated our palette too fast, unsure. But the straw-rhubarb was really yummy. We also ordered some truffle fries which were expensive and none of us really tasted the truffle... I don't think I'd opt for those again. Maybe we ordered wrong but the mushroom pizza was barely a step up from a frozen pizza bought at the grocery store. The thin crust had no flavor and the toppings were sparse. Randomly came across this place after a hike today and boy were we pleasantly surprised and satisfied!! This was hands down the wildly best fried chicken sandwich I've ever eaten (and I have eaten my share)!! The kimchi and togarashi sambal made this spectacular! Came for Happy Hour drinks and dinner. Great service on their dog-friendly outdoor patio which had a nice water view. Our waitress brought out a compostable water bowl for our pup. So sweet! The beer and ciders we tried were all fantastic. The impossible burger was amazing. It had a delicious garlic aioli that melted together with Beecher's cheese to create creamy, sweet, and savory perfection. The arugula on top instead of ordinary iceberg was a surprising enhancement and added a nice bite. The Impossible burger was provided for no up charge which is so freaking cool and cooked amazing with a nice crispy sear! My husband loved his Rueben sandwich and said he was a "big fan." If we had to leave a criticism, the Fry Flight was a bit overpriced (even at the HH discount) and although everything was good, none of the sauces particularly stood out and we both agreed we would probably skip it next time. Order a dish you loved last time and odds are it's vanished--or they're out of half the ingredients anyway. The menu changes like a mood swing, and not in a chef-driven, seasonal way--more like a shrug. Service hovers at lukewarm, the vibe's fine but forgettable. Nothing's awful, but nothing sticks. We stopped here on Sunday 22 September on a pre-fall afternoon... that was pretty perfect weather to enjoy their delicious cider as you soak in the views! David brought us a couple samples that my mom opted for the Strawberry Rhubarb cider and I went for the Blackberry Ginger cider. My mom and I both opted for a lunch of Double R Ranch Burgers w fries. The food and cider were both delicious, our service was attentive and efficient, ambiance delightful and views wonderful. Parking was easy in their tiny lot w a few spaces. Finding the Cidery was easy once we entered thanks to signage. Bathrooms were easy to locate for the same reason. We didn't spend much time inside as we trailed our way to the host stand and took advantage of the weather by sitting on the deck. I got a chuckle and as someone who always advocates for Local & Small I very much appreciated the hostess stand sign that read: FIERCELY LOCAL. After reading all the views, I was so hopeful to have an outstanding experience. But I did not. As far as the setting goes, this place is gorgeous... as far as the interior and exterior goes, yes are firing on all cylinders and is a place that you would love to call your Ciderhouse. We did get two flights, which is 10 different ciders. Honestly, a few of them were repulsive... And the rest were mid at best. I typically would never leave alcohol on a table, but about 8 of them were half full when we left. What a waste of money. Now as far as the food goes, we grabbed a vegetarian hash, and it was absolutely fantastic, and I would eat it again. I am sure the rest of their food is equally awesome. Our waiter is part of the reason that is a three star. He could've cared less if we were there or not, and I think that he probably smoked far too much pot before his shift to be able to service us in a way that I would expect. No big deal, as it is a super nice space and tables are screened or distanced. Hubs ordered a burger and I ordered the pork tenderloin, both with ciders, of course. Hubs said the burger was just average though he really liked the fries. The Brussels sprouts and spatzle that came with my pork were good. The pork was covered with mustard sauce which was really good, but it obscured the pork. The pork was very tough, but I was going to muddle through. I was about to ask for a steak knife when I scraped off the sauce and saw that the pork was VERY pink. Pork needs to be cooked a bit past pink. So, I alerted my waitress who brought someone else over to let them know. They said they were sorry and offered to replace the dish. I didn't want them to take a big hit on replacing my meal, so I just asked for some fries to eat with my cider while hubs finished his burger. We gave the waitress a credit card and when she brought the receipt, they had comped the $8 French fries, not the undercooked pork. Really?? It is date night and I didn't want to make a fuss, but we will not be back. The waitress was nice, but that was poor resolution to the undercooked pork. My grand daughter picked this place for her 14th birthday dinner(she's been there with her parents many times) We made reservations so we were seated promptly. We knew what we wanted by the time we got our water so got our order in right away. Food came out timely. The pork belly and the gnocchi were good. The chicken and waffle not so much, the waffle tasted either frozen or had been reheated. Service was just bad he took our order, dropped it off, finally checked back when we were over half way done I wanted more syrup but the waffle was cold by then so didn't bother. He asked if we needed a box then dropped the check with it never bothering to ask if we were ready for it or if we wanted dessert.
