With the rising population of Arab folks in the area, I loved seeing the way the culture was sprinkled in the cafe. The racing theme was cute and the drink was so good. I can't quite remember what it was called but it was coconut water and matcha. My main complaint was how small everything is, which the cafe itself cannot help. They were making the most of their space with seating and I was not able to get a seat. The cafe was filled with college students despite it being early August! I will definitely be stopping by whenever I can.

Being Middle Eastern myself, I liked the unique concept and knew I had to stop by when we were in the area. We arrived around 5pm and it was extremely loud & busy. The atmosphere and seating gives relaxing environment, but in reality, there were people with laptops (on a Saturday), kids running around, and generally the acoustics inside aren't great. Nonetheless, we placed an order and grabbed a table. I got the Iced Crème Brûlée Latte which was very well executed. It's rich, bold, and had notes of vanilla and burnt caramel. They definitely nailed the crème brûlée flavor. Even the Cortado was nicely presented and soothing. I liked that the flavor profile in the espresso was not overpowered by the milk or extraction process. I was also bummed that they didn't have their cool cups that say "Habibi" on them! Their branding is one of the things that caught my eye about them and it sucks to see them switching to nonbranded cups (assuming for cost reasons). Overall, it was worth a try!

Unfortunately my first choice, a matcha latte, was sold out. I asked if they had any other options because I'm not much of a coffee drinker. I was told that there were flavored lemonades, I asked the about the flavors and the person who was helping me wasn't sure so they went and asked another person who ended up coming to list the syrups and just ringing me out. I ordered a blueberry lemonade and a blueberry pop-tart to go. Everything was fine until the end of our time there. As we were getting ready to leave I grabbed what I thought was my cup and took a quick sip to finish it off so I didn't have to carry it around. Turns out I grabbed a coffee from the table instead. I thought it was my friend's so I apologized to her about drinking her drink because I didn't realize I grabbed the wrong one in the dark. She goes, "oh no it's not my drink...I have mine in my hand." I'm like whose drink and dishes are these? She said that they were there before they got there and they just pushed it to the side. Omg I almost gagged, I just took the biggest sip of some random person's drink by accident. At that point I get up to go to the bathroom to rinse out my mouth. While I'm gone by friends get their things ready and also wait outside the bathroom, which is right by our table. As soon as I get out I walk back to grab my pop-tart and it was gone, cleared away by the staff in a matter of minutes. Crazy that they left the table with dishes and cups when we got there but when we were leaving they were in a rush to clear away everything that they take my basically full pop-tart too. I was so defeated at that point I just left. To note, I did take one bite of the pop-tart and it was actually very good. My lemonade was fine, nice and tart. Overall service is kinda lacking but it was also a crazy day to visit with an event going on so I can't really comment on how they are normally. I don't think I will back because I don't know if I can recover from swigging some rando's drink.

However, when work brought me in their direction recently, I had to pay a visit to get one of my favorite drinks: their signature Ube Coconut Matcha. Chapter 2 Coffee Roasters isn't very far from the Rutgers campus, so don't be surprised if the place is packed with college kids if you visit on a weekday. Nevertheless, Chapter 2 Coffee Roasters will keep you coming back with their delicious drinks, friendly service, and welcoming environment. I felt as if I was drinking a child's recipe, with each attempted sip clogging my straw due to the cookie pieces. If you don't like coffee this is great, because it tasted exactly like what was advertised - milk and cookies. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing, but my partner ordered something completely different and it didn't taste great either. The taste of burnt coffee was prominent, making it hard to consume as well. The one positive is the environment seems like a great place to work remotely / study, as that is what many patrons were doing.
