When it was actually time to install the turf, a crew of about 10 came out and they finished the whole project in about 8-9 hours. They were like a well oiled machine and everyone did their part to complete the install in a timely manner. Honestly, don't look anywhere else and this is an honest review. Anil and his team are amazing to…read morework with. Anil is a straight forward, old school style owner. He meets with clients himself, is reasonable in all of his dealings, and he tells it as it is. No fancy business store front and multiple staff you have to go through. It's just him and his installation team. I like that kind of business man. Anil came by our home and brought a vanload of samples and presented them transparently and perfectly. He even has a description of all his recommended turf in the back of the estimate; I love this because you can compare all of the turf specifications and I love that he leaves the samples for you to compare at your own pace and your own time. We had over 5 different quotes, but in the end, we went with Anil because his price could not be beat, he is LOCAL to the South County Area, and honestly I just really appreciated his no frills style. He's not coming in like a used care sales man but pretty much tells you how it is with his product. We have 3 other neighbors that have gone with him, so that shows you his track record. The installation went perfectly smooth, and I've done a lot of work on our house. I hate having to "be available" for contractors and their team. With Anil, we didn't worry about anything. We gave him our needs and special requests before installation and that was the end of it. His team was quick and efficient and definitely accommodating. In the end, we were glad we went with him and would recommend him to all of our friends, family and neighbor. We even referred our front neighbor to him and the completed her front yard the week after they completed ours. The pictures will speak for themselves. We went with the Denali 80 Turf - new pigmented technology so it is cooler in the heat. This is GREAT for our kids.

I see a lot of people post reviews right after install; however, I purposefully waited to post my…read morereview to see how the product/installation held up with the test of time, as this is a big investment... I purchased my home in Escondido, CA in early 2022 and started exploring backyard renovation options shortly after. By September 2022, I chose to move forward with Ruff N Tuff Turf after being told that my backyard would be featured in their marketing materials and that I'd receive a discounted rate because of this. Unfortunately, I now believe this was just a sales tactic. From the beginning, there were red flags. The salesperson, Anthony, provided a very rough, unprofessional mockup (see attached image), and the design did not accurately reflect my backyard's measurements or layout. The layout boxes didn't align with the space, which likely led to incorrect ordering... too much paver material (I still have a significant surplus far beyond the 10% overage I was told to expect) and not enough turf. The shortfall in turf meant they had to install it in multiple sections with seams, despite me being promised a seamless look during the sales pitch. Fast forward to now, nearly three years later, and I've been dealing with an ongoing issue of weeds growing through the turf, not just around the edges, but directly through the middle (see attached photos). I contacted Ruff N Tuff Turf and was told this was not their responsibility and was purely a maintenance issue on my end and to use Roundup 365. However, several other landscaping professionals I've since consulted confirmed that properly installed artificial turf should not allow weeds to grow through like this. Surface weeds can happen, but penetration through the turf indicates a deeper problem with installation or materials. For transparency, I paid $31,343 for: 860 sq ft of Soft Touch Pro-Natural Series 1000 turf (envirofill, zeolite, and 15 LF premium poly board) 449 sq ft of courtyard pavers (including polymeric sand) 286 sq ft of 3/8 rock 3 stump removals On a positive note, the turf has held its color, doesn't retain pet odors, stays cooler than other turf I've experienced, and does look fairly realistic (though now, the weeds probably make it look too realistic). Overall, my experience with Ruff N Tuff Turf was disappointing, from the misleading sales approach, to poor planning, to subpar installation, and the lack of professionalism/accountability after the fact. I would recommend doing thorough research and getting multiple professional opinions before moving forward with this company.
